  1. https://belizecruiseexcursions.com/BelizeBeachSnorkeling.htm. sorry, we booked through this operator. They were easy to find on the pier, they brought us to the slip to wait for the boat to bring us to the island. It took about 30 minutes to get there. We all got off the boat, whoever wanted to snorkel got back on the boat, they brought us out aways spilt us into groups of 6 (I think) then we went with our guides who pointed out sea stuff (lobsters, tropical fish), we snorkeled back to the island where we had lunch. 2 grilled lobster tails were $12. They were very good. Not sure of the drink prices, we drank the complimentary rum punch.
  2. We did Goffs Caye through Eco tours January, 2015. Loved it!! I think it was about $40 per person plus lunch ($12 for two grilled lobster tails).

The only down side for me was that it was very rocky getting out of the water.

  3. Hi All,

If we book a haven owners suite on the Breakaway RT NYC I understand a butler is included. My question is:

Can we bring our own butler? Its just so hard to get used to a "new" "unfamiliar" butler that i feel the time spent setting out expectations will be just exhausting that we wont be able to fully enjoy all that our stateroom has to offer. If NCL does not permit us to bring our long time family's butler i could manage to get by. but do you feel when we return home that our "family" butler will give us the cold shoulder or refuse eye contact? i would hate for someone to lose his job over what is supposed to be a relaxing voyage.

    All good things,

    -Mark

Only if he can share a suite with my three nannies.....

  4. We were in the Western Caribbean the week of November 15. When we got home we found out my daughter is pregnant. She hasn't shown any ZIKA symptoms, but she has an appt with her OB/GYN this week. All of her tests and ultrasounds to date have been fine, but its another thing to worry about.

The day we were in Roatan she was bit by some sand fleas, but besides that she wasn't (as far as she knows) bitten by any mosquitos.

  5. Its only offered through NCL. It may be sold out. Is your cruise soon? Keep checking, there is a chance that someone will cancel, or maybe you can book it when you get onboard.

When we went in November, it was sold out and one of the couples with us weren't able to book it online. They asked the concierge onboard and he was able to book them for it.

I have been there twice and I love it!!

  6. I can't for the life of me remember what year, but it was less than 10 yrs ago-that we also had this group and the same problems. I wonder if NCL gets more for their cabins as they had special food (kosher) in the buffet (taking up a whole station so less choices for everyone else) and they had the one dining room to themselves as well. Its the only reason for them NOT t ban them. The rudeness was unbelievable from every age in the group.

Our CC group that year had 2 families JUST as religious as the ones in the "group" and they were APPALLED by their actions. Hopefully people don't think they are the "Face" of NY!

  7. nanwel, We were in a family suite, sj. There is a lot of room. We were in 12032 a modified suite. And because of the wall of window it seems even larger. This suite can accommodate six people easily.

March usually has quite a few kids onboard but have talked to several parents and told us kids programs is good. As far as excursions, I would check out some of the local tour operators for transportation to local beaches. Or just get a taxi.

Enjoy the Dawn. She is a good ship with a very good crew.

We were in suite 12032 last November. I was afraid that I would have not having a balcony, but it was fine.

  8. I'm not 100% but I think it's Best Western Plus French Quarter Landmark Hotel. I've never stayed there. The reviews look good. But I'll say this. It's on the outer edge of the French Quarter. About 5 blocks from the very end of where the bourbon street action ends. If that is where you end up I would be careful at night..and possibly take a cab back to the hotel instead of walking.

Thank you very much for the info!! And for the warnings!! I am such a nervous nelly, I drive my husband crazy!!

  9. I was told that the porter would not take a case of water with a luggage tag. We brought a case with us, believing that the porter would not take it, (we put a luggage tag on it in case we got separated from it) my husband was planning on carrying it onboard. The porter said "no bother, and put it on the cart with our luggage. Maybe it depends on the porter? This was this past November.

Edited to add: The water was delivered to the suite much later than our luggage and there was a sticker on it that had "water" written on it...Maybe they checked for booze?

  10. I can help. You are the one who wants a room for 4/30 right? Is $257 too much? If you go on Hotwire the 4* warehouse district for $257 is Hilton Riverside. It's the best deal in the area that night...unless you want to go out to a suburb. Oh you have a lot of people. If you want to guarantee a two bed room, make sure you search for 2 adults and 2 children....doesn't matter if you actually have two adults and 2 children or not. If you book that way, they'll give you two beds. If you leave it at the default 2 adults, 0 children, you may get a 1 bed room.

    Thanks for the help!!

  11. Looks like you can get a room for 1 night on hotwire but it's going to cost $250-300.

I have never booked through hotwire, looks like I will be this trip!! This am hotwire had a 4 star in the warehouse district for 203...if it's back tomorrow I am booking!!
