You can climb the ruins at Lamanai as well...I know because my nephew freaked out and wouldn't come down off the tallest one. [emoji23]

We booked Lamanai for our Belize excursion through the ship. I have been to Mayan Ruins before, this will be my husband's first time. Looks great!!

About 30 years ago we flew from Boston to Orlando for a cruise on the Big Red Boat the same day as a cruise. NEVER AGAIN. The plane had some kind of a problem and we needed to wait for another plane. We knew it would be close. I had booked the air travel through the cruise line, I called them and they said to relax, that there were 20 of us cruisers on that flight and they held the ship. We were about an hour late. When we got to the baggage carousel, there was a Disney rep there, he was grabbing all of the luggage, they put us in golf carts and drove us to the bus that was waiting. It was such a stressfull day, but boy was I happy that they waited for us!! Totally missed the muster drill, they had us meet the next morning for it..

Thanks!! It was strange, from the day they announced the addition of this cruise, the suite prices were sky high. The SJ was 2699 per person. Even though it's a 10 day, it seemed high.

What was the offer?

350 pp for family suite no balcony.

500 pp penthouse suites

500 pp family suite with balcony

750pp 2br2bath suites

I think the rest were 1000 pp

I really wanted the family with balcony I offered 375 pp they countered with 400 pp and we accepted

Good for you!! No specific boarding time, suite lounge to wait to board in with snacks, coffee, water, concierge service, breakfast and lunch in cagneys.

They did on the Dawn in November..we didn't participate, but our kids did (all over 21) with others they had met on the cruise, we were screaming laughing!!

We just called the ncl upgrade line yesterday and paid $400 pp to go from an inside cabin to a family suite with balcony! Not a bad purchase for first time NCL cruisers. I'm quite impressed!

We are on Jade from 2nd May for three cruises. Although we have cruised on many lines, we have never been offered an upsell! I am wondering if we are likely to receive one or if the fact that we are doing three back to back would prevent this. I would love a suite!! Any advice here please?

Do you currently have the same room for all three weeks? Don't know if that will make a difference, the worst they can do is say no, just have your ressie number when you call.

1-800-625-4309, you may have to try a couple of times. Sometimes the phone would keep ringing....Call and ask them if they have any upsells available for your cruise.

I have read here on cc that several people have countered the offer they quote you. There is a thread here that someone started and they would call every day. I think it was the week before they sailed and got a great price for a cabin. He had counter offered them and they accepted the offer.

I offered a lower price than was offered and it was accepted. The offer came 30 days out, I really wanted the SD on the DAWN and was able to get it for $400pp.

I wasn't allowed to sign for my daughters friend, they were both 20. I was allowed to sign the waiver for my daughter. I also needed to show proof she was my daughter (different last names).

That was for a Boston to Bermuda cruise, not Europe...

I am booked on my 12th NCL cruise for May 8th on the DAWN. Its a 10 day cruise. I received my first UPSELL offer today and took it. I had been calling once a week and was thrilled to see the e-mail. When you speak with them you may be able to get it for a bit cheaper. We were in a balcony on deck 9 and were able to upsell to a family suite with balcony (SD) for $400 pp. I probably could have waited a couple of weeks and been able to get the suite for less, but I wanted to book a suite when we originally booked, but the SF suites were going for about $2600 PP.

We are flying into MSY for the first time and are deciding between the "Super Shuttle" and taking a taxi. We are staying at the Riverside Hilton and the Shuttle is $20 pp, it looks like a taxi is $35 for two. What should we do? Does anyone know if the shuttle stops at a bunch of hotels? Probably be faster (and a bit cheaper) if we take a taxi.

We have stayed at the Prytania Park and Prytania Oaks, they are in they Garden district and let you park for free. (you may have to stay 2 nights, not sure, we did both times)....It is a quick streetcar ride to the French Quarter, there is a walmart 5 minutes away if you forget anything. We took a taxi from the hotel to the cruise port, it is a flat $8 per person charge for the taxi. (was great the first time when there were just 2 of us, but the second time there were 6 and the 5 minute ride to the ship cost $48)....

We are cruising in May and we booked Lamanai. My cousin did it on his last cruise and said it was great. It wasn't on our list of excursions for Belize so I called the excursion desk and asked why. He wasn't sure and said he would talk to "the powers to be" and told me to check in a couple of days... It appeared the next day and we booked it right away.

One year we took my dad who needed a wheelchair escort. We were in a suite and had to wait for an available wheelchair, took about 45 extra minutes.

On longer cruises the extra entertainers will often embark/disembark in the ports of call so there can be for example one performing at the beginning of the cruise and another one at the end.

Yes they have different shows every night. I don't know what happens on really long cruises, like 20 days, maybe they start repeating shows, but for 10 days it will be different every night.

We are cruising on the Dawn May 8-18. We have never done more than a 7 night cruise. Do they have extras shows? This will be my 6th time on the Dawn and love the shows, but what do they do on the extra nights?

Tried to get this extra OBC for my next cruise, since NCL is offering it on the sailing. My online TA informed me it is for new bookings only. They also said cancel/rebooks are not allowed.
