On now with Minor (IMO) disruptions.
No salt and pepper shakers in Terrace only.
Paper menus in all restaurants. Some of us actually like those better.
Meats cooked to order.
I believe the library cabinets are still locked.
Executive lounge is open.
We were told last night at dinner things would be returning to normal after 48hrs if no new cases were reported.
Staff seem to be in good spirits.
Only problem is the 48 hrs of rain......
Can you give us an update on above, since time has passed.
When Library cab locked, can they be opened by staff?Or I must find some paperbacks to pack.
Has rain finally stopped?Know its rainy season, but hoping not a daily thing.
How are you enjoying cruise, besides above probs. Let us know.
-
So it looks like it should be sort of back to normal in 2 days, a relief. Now to worry about the rain. Will pack a rain coat now and bring small umbrella.
-
Ok. now I m the confused one, wasnt it you who posted this?On the Marina Now thread. So it was sNEVER confirmed to be noro?Didnt a person post that they wanted compensation?problem with excess medical charge?
Still would like to know if ANY sort of probs. being noticed on this Feb.3 cruise,,,??Get on Feb.13 and am worried.
-
Have read on thread about last cruise dealing with it. Said they would sanitize whole ship prior to next cruise,,,so wonder exactly how it worked. Taking Feb 13 one and am worried. Poster was critical about how staff was handling it. Also, others asked for compensation due to limits onboard, like library closed, etc. Please let us know.
-
Are the flu pts being quarantined in their cabins? Is it noro, that was posted on other thread. I think.
Interested in your shore exc. from next port on as will be there next yr.and wonder what to sign up for,or do on own, etc. Also, see your dressed for warm weather, did you bring things for cold,,when around the tip too.
We are on the new Explorer and look forward to trying the ship.
Re.cooking class, seems like the chefs act like comedians and often end up just leaving. How have the entertainers been?

I will be doing the Feb 1 2019 cruise from San Antonio to BA ,so look forward to your next few stops. Am going next week on Oceania to S.Pacific and will follow thread onboard, if possible. Will be my first Regent cruise in 4 yrs. The intinary looks great and always wanted to see that area of world, but too many days before. Now retired and have more time.Yeah.Also, doing Cuba in Oct. This cruise thing is fun and addictive.
Have a great time and thanks for posts and photos, really appreciated.

Thanks for the niteclub info and links, can look and see for myself. But sounds like a nite I would regret if I passed on it. Hope its casual, not planning on pack ing fancy stuff,,,dress slacks and fancy top,ok.I hope.
-
Re.the Tropicana show,,,would you describe it, Singers and dancers with band. See you re not a drinker,or passed on rum,but I m not at all.If its better than a ship performance, may book it. Any details great.
Glad you liked cruise. Also, going to see Cuba ,not cruise per se.Nice to hear about shore exc.too.
-
THen guess we ll have to get some,,,just maybe not as much.Maybe others can clarify their experiences. Do have some euros and CAN.money from last cruise,.
-
That s the best news yet..think we ll just do that.If shore exc.guides take dollars as tips and we rarely buy much, best solution. No lines,no hassle,no exchange. Thanks.
-
YEs, a good tip, I always check cruise upcoming with similar ports and excursions almost always the exact same .
I usually take a few shore exc.with O in far off places, just to feel safe and know the language.Know I can pay more, but sometimes just less hassle.
-
Not surprised by weather as I m in FL, and same weather here today and yesterday,,,its our winter, haha. So knew it would be similar. Many here actually LIKE it, since always hot and humid rest of yr.
Good tip re dollars,,,esp that guides accept them for tips. Usually don t buy much onshore anyway,,,more to lug back and have to many THINGS now.haha.
Love to hear about the shore exc. you take,,,gives us all ideas about what interests us.
Hope you like O ships and no one comes down with any bugs on your cruise.
Appreciate the time it takes to post ,,,and we sure love all the details.
-
Somehow I thought you couldnt get dollars for cuban money,,,nice to know. Love how we find out things here, that get overlooked.
Look forward to reading new thread I see posted today.
-
Bogeybob,,,would be great if you can continue on here, or start new thread about your experiences. So many are interested.
-
Will remember that shore exc. ,,sounds interesting.
Re.the heat,,haha,,I live in Orlando FL and used to it.
And I agree about larger ships, have to book a PH to get a tub on the smaller ones, but on Sirena will have to make do with shower only,,,no tubs anywhere.
Sadly, unless hot destination, would NOT book those ships.
Glad you enjoyed your cruise, and can now look forward to mine ,,with ease and less worry.
-
Good tips about both ports. Glad you felt safe and plenty to do.
Look forward to more port info.Thanks.
-
So looking forward to how the O shore exc. go,,,which to avoid, etc.
Wonder how the Cuban people are treating us,,,maybe hard with all the restrictions.
How about private tours,,,anyone?
-
I had started a thread to ask for Cuba cruise reviews, and so appreciated the time you can take to let us know ALL the details.
Have a great time. Both of you, that is.

I just got off the phone with Oceania.
The agent sent me the form for passengers that booked before June 16, 2017.
If you go to the Oceania Web site and scroll to the bottom you will see contact us click there.
On the right side of the next page click on questions and browse facts.
On the next page click on Cuba.
Next page scroll to How do I certify. Everything you nee will be there whether you booked before or after 16 June.
Hope this helps
Thanks for link, but I wonder how others will find out this info, since I never knew it was there. Hope they send ea.pass. a print out of all info. Hate to feel like I missed something, if I didnt know RIGHT place to look. Many times I call my TA and have HER figure it out and just let me know.I prefer to have all the info myself, just in case.
-
Am I correct that O will offer some form of medical ins. in Cuba, think most ins.co.won t cover the cruise. Any details know?
Will anymore visa ,etc. be needed besides cert.disc. above?
-
Maybe O will give better deals to their exc.pkgs since almost FORCED to take them...or not. We usually use the free ones inc. in price and do rest on own,but looks like that may be impossible. Good I have almost a year to decide .
Just a shout out to any on current cruise,,,how s it going...Sure have a captive audience out here waiting for news.
-
Will be interested in how they handle this. Check ea.passenger as they leave ship for booking date? Seems odd. If on O excursions, will we need a special sticker? Talk about standing out as VISITOR.
Wonder if this will cause many to cancel?
Maybe O customer service will let us know??
-
Unless they ve changed it, due to complaints,,,by me,,,haha. It was on desk in cabin and not very accessible to do makeup and hair. Same on other ships too. Wish they d change it,,,,,any others??
-
Thanks for the tips. Will check that out. First cruise seems to be leaving today,,,,if I got date right. So any of you onboard,,,lots of us eager to hear how it goes.

THis is different news from what was posted on thread I started re this. The cruiser said still probs for next 48 hrs.,that was 2 days ago. So not sure about this at all. He said same restrictions, such as locked Lib.cabs, and lack of salt shakers, etc. ,,,just example.
Seems like ship info is still lacking for everyone onboard. Hope it gets sorted out SOON.
