  1. My favorite area is the Eastern Med. Another closer to home is our 25 May on Summit out of NJ. It does do Bermuda, but also Charleston, SC, Martha's Vineyard, MA and Newport, RI. Millie out of Vancouver, BC or Seward, AK. Hubbard Glacier.

    Why would anyone presume what someone else needs for their vacation?  I have a medical device that I need power for, and I bring cords to make sure I have what i need.  I take them to hotels, cruise ships, airbnb, etc.

    My dad also brings his own extension cord for a medical device. We do use a Celebrity extension cord while on the ship. His luggage with the extension cord has never be sent to the naughty room in 20 cruises.

    Argentina DOES NOT require a Covid test to enter the country or to board a cruise. Yes they require medical insurance but anyone traveling to SA should already have it.

    Here is info from the US Embassy in Argentina. See Bold font below.

    Entry and Exit Requirements:

    Are U.S. citizens permitted to enter? Yes.

    Is a negative COVID-19 test (PCR and/or serology) required for entry? No.Foreigners who are not residents of Argentina:

    Submit an electronic sworn statement within 48 hours before departure confirming vaccination status and absence of COVID-19 symptoms;

    Provide evidence of medical travel insurance that includes hospitalization, quarantine, and transportation coverage for COVID-19;

    A COVID-19 test is recommended within 24 hours after arrival regardless of the vaccination status.  Be prepared to pay for the cost of the test. Minors, under 6 years of age, are also exempted in all cases from undergoing the PCR or antigen test after entering the country.  Providing false statements or omitting information may result in criminal penalties.

    Airlines will require evidence of the sworn statement and medical insurance.  Please note that it is at the airline’s discretion if a passenger has completed the required documentation.

    Individuals entering the country by land for a period under 24 hours will be exempted from providing COVID-19 insurance.

    Travelers should be aware that provinces may maintain different testing and/or vaccination requirements than the national government, and certain establishments or venues may require evidence of vaccination status before granting entry.

    Submit an electronic sworn statement within 48 hours before departure informing vaccination status and absence of COVID-19 symptoms;

    Individuals entering the country must carry all documentation that accounts for travel requirements.

    For cruise ships:  Only a negative COVID-19 PCR test (not antigen) administered no more than 72 hours prior to the departure of the cruise ship will be accepted.

    All passengers transiting Argentina must comply with the same requirements as those passengers entering and remaining in Argentina.

    Multiple countries in the region have implemented travel restrictions with little advance notice.  To stay informed of the latest travel restrictions, visit the U.S. Embassy COVID-19 webpage for the country of your intended destination or stopover.

    See the Government order here.

    Are health screening procedures in place at airports and other ports of entry? No.

  4. We have put our Buenos Aires cruise on hold. I was getting ready to book air and our tour to Iguazú Falls. Then I saw the requirement for Medical coverage and a PCR test done within 72 hour of cruise departures. As our cruise is docked in Buenos Aires for 2 days. Seems like we might have to get our PCR test done in Buenos Aires or while at the Iguazú Falls. If we do the falls before the cruise.

    We have done this cruise before, but did not see the Iguazú Falls. I'm hoping to do the cruise and travel to Iguazú Falls from Brazil. Just seems to compilated to do it from Buenos Aires.

  5. Argentina requires us to do a PCR test to cruise from their port. Also Argentina is requiring medical insurance coverage to fly into Argentina. Our health insurance is you pay the bill and we will pay as in network. I have put the cruise on hold for now. Where is that magic 8 ball.

    Our next cruise ends in Vancouver. I already have the E-Med kits and ArriveCan app. I even got my E-Doc and luggage tags at 30 days out.

    The bottle of whites have been  from Spain or California  and sold around here for about $15-20. I have the last bottle received here and it is Mer Soleil Chardonnay from California.   I am not sure where the cabin steward got them.  The Spanish wine was pretty good.

    Mer Soleil Chardonnay is my favorite white wine. It has oaky notes (butter, oak, vanilla). By the glass on Celebrity it is on the premium drink package.

  7. If we are in suites I want to be on board to have lunch in Luminae. Luminae normally closes about 1:30. If not in a suite, it is more about what time is check out at the hotel. I will say my easiest check in was when I got to the port without my wallet. Luck was on my side as the cruise was out of Seattle. I drove home and got my wallet. Check in at Seattle about 2pm is great. What lines.

  8. We stayed in 2133 on Eclipse and it was really noisy. When it comes most of the S Class ships. I will only book suites 2114-2123. These sky suites are being recategorized to Aqua Sky Suites. I'm not paying for AS, so I will book the Sunset Sky Suites after the changed over. It seems to me that here on CC I have seen less complaints from guest staying on the port side deck 12.

  9. We were just on Millie in a sky suite. Our friends had an anniversary party. Talk to your butler about having an anniversary party in your suite before you go to dinner in Luminae. Your butler will provide food and drinks. If you meet some interesting people on the cruise. Invite 2 or 3 couples. Or just have the butler do the rose petals on the bed and chill some champagne while your at dinner. Our friends were not charged for their party. Luminae will do a small anniversary cake for you. Just give Luminae and your butler time to organize things.

    I suspect we will arrive around 11. We are staying nearby at the Hampton Inn Seaport .

    It's hard to say when things will get crowded. I believe most people are concerned about flight cancellations and will arrive a day early so there might be a log jam before lunch?

    You should have a separate line for Retreat or Suites guest. Summit only has 50 suites. Our last 2 cruises on Millie (sister ship) we were on the ship in about 20 mins. One cruise was out of Seattle and the other was out of Seward, AK. As far as I know Celebrity is still not sailing full. Suites should be full.

  11. I like to get to the pier about 11:30. On the ship about noon. Drop my bags off in the suite. Then I go to Luminae for lunch. Luminae is open for lunch on sea days and embarkation day from about noon to 1:30. Luminae is your assigned dining room. After lunch head back to the suite to meet our butler. Now called Personal Retreat Host "PRH".

    Do they charge a corkage fee if the wine has a screw top ? Asking for a friend!   🙂

    I think of the corking fee as more of a service fee. Yes opening even of a screw top. They will be pouring the wine for you and storing the wine if you leave it in the dining for the next evening.

    The 1st photo is the table our butler on the Edge got us for our sky suite March 2019. 2nd photo is another photo from S Class ship from years ago having breakfast on the balcony.
