Very nice to hear of your experience. We love the "S" class ships, after 2 sailings on Apex if we ever book again on X it will be on an "S" class for sure.  Prefer the layout, the service, Luminae is SO much better than on E class, and your reports of the butler service are encouraging.

We only sailed on the Edge once. Apex next June. After the limited menu in Luminae on the E class ships, I'm dreading having dinner in Luminae.

  3.  I dress smart casual every evening. Most evenings we dine in Luminae.

    EVENING CHIC

Each itinerary features one to two “formal” nights we call Evening Chic. Evening Chic means you dress to impress, glamorous and sophisticated in your own way, with a cocktail dress, skirt, slacks, or designer jean, an elegant dress top or blazer—some guests even pack a tuxedo or gown for onboard photos. The Daily program, delivered to your stateroom and available at the Guest Relations Desk, will be your guide to the correct attire each evening. If you do not wish to participate in Evening Chic, Smart Casual attire is acceptable for dining and theater.

I was on Apex in both sunset veranda and Aquaclass (doing a b2b).

    No coffee maker.

I enjoy waking up, making coffee and drinking it in my balcony in my pajamas.

I dont want to get dressed and goto the spa cafe or the buffet just to get coffee. (I don't eat breakfast to cut down on weight gain on cruises.)

NCL has coffee makers in their balcony cabins.

    Why doesn't Celebrity?

If I remember correctly. The Silhouette and Reflection have a area called The Hideaway. The Hideaway has a coffee station on deck 7 or 8. Book your cabin near The Hideaway coffee station.

You are all right in every point. Including the book early part. Both Murano and Tuscan are booked solid. 😢 Guess I hesitated too long.

We were just on Eclipse last month. We dined one night in Murano. The Chateaubriand for 2 was really good. If they have cold water Lobster onboard they will prepare it table side. They hold back early dining times for suite guests. Once onboard go to Murano's. Mention your anniversary. While you both might want to dress up. Do so if you want. All X specialty restaurants are Smart Casual.

I've been searching around and what I received when I ordered a Rib Eye Steak (April May of this year) was actually an Eye Round Steak -   Very little flavor, on the tough side an never ordered since

Were just off Eclipse Oct 1st. Your photo is what our rib eye looked like in Luminae. About half that thickness and very tough.

  7. On X we book AquaClass or Sky Suites. The Constellation (Connie) is a M Class ship with about 2800 guest. AquaClass gives you a smaller dining restaurant called Blu. Suites guest can dine in Luminae. Connie does have limited pay specialty dining restaurants.

I'm sure Connie could use an update, but overall she should be in good shape.

Sun Princess will give you more food options and a much newer ship. My question to you is. Is this cruise more about Dubrovnik, Koper, Split. Or is it more about what the ship has to offer.

We were on this cruise!  Our staff in early MDR were outstanding. It’s the first time we weren’t in the Blu in a very long time. I did eat a lot of salmon, but at least it was tasty. Shows were good. Beyond the Podium talk on the PNW left a lot out. Was more of a port talk rather than what was advertised regarding geography. Other than bringing home Covid (my first time—knew it had to happen eventually), it was a great cruise!

My MIL came down with Covid. She shared her V1 with her sister. We all had booster shots about 4 months ago. Out of the 4 of us only my MIL came down with Covid. She only has a scratchy throat.

I had salmon twice dining in Luminae. DH had the turkey main entrée from the MDR, also the chicken parmesan with spaghetti. Both were very good. I know I will order the chicken parmesan with spaghetti next time.

Maybe back to the Equinox?  She was maitre d there for a long time, and I was surprised to see her on the Eclipse last summer (she said she wanted to see Alaska).  What we loved was that our assistant waiter from Equinox in 2021 was our waiter on the Eclipse.  He was excellent on both, so a well deserved promotion.

And btw, over on FB there's a long thread about the hot mess that immigration was in San Francisco.  Sounds similar. I think because you both went to Victoria, so had to do it at your first US port.

Yes, the good thing was we just walked off the ship in LA. No immigration/customs.

did you do a move up offer or did you book a suite ? thanks 😊

I did not do a move up. My favorite sky suites on S Class were changed to Aqua Sky Suites. So I've started to book SC on the S Class ships. I'm not going to pay for something I wont use.

We love Rose. Do you know if she will be on the Eclipse on December 1st cruise?

I dont remember when. She might have gone home Oct 1st. I know she was going home out of LA and not going to South America with Eclipse.

  12. The man is me starting my 1st of 2 PR's in the MDR. I was very full after dinner. It was a great night. The DR did flashing lights and music. The wait staff circled around like they did with Baked Alaska.

While I normally dont gain any weight on cruises. I did lose 1 pound on this cruise.
