  1. You know, I think you have expressed exactly what I was trying to ‘get at’ when I started this thread. Companies are driven by profit. They can either up their profit margins by making cuts (room service, menu items, butler service) or by upping their prices (with a real risk of out pricing themselves) or by offering extra facilities/services that their guests would feel were an enhancement to their cruise experience and a price they were comfortable with…Personally, I do prefer this last option….
  2. I can see both sides…However, if you look most ships there are quiet areas that could be better utilised. Whilst for many guests it is the poolside location they want. If it is peace and quiet, a nice sun bed and perhaps a bit more attentive service then location is not important…The pool side guests would have less folks looking for spots and the ‘luxury bed’ guests would get what they want too.
  3. Oh, I agree, add in a few basic toiletries too…On long haul flights to cruise, especially, it would be so nice not to take the long list of ‘just in case’ over the counter stuff with you…
  4. We have been lucky enough to dine with officers on occasions. Always interesting…I agree it probably would have to be cruises longer than 7 nights.
  5. I do know that X does read these threads, whether or not they take the comments/advice seriously is another matter…I just hope that if they read this they do get the message to ask their regulars about changes before implementing both positive and negative. This post has focused on positive changes they could make that we would even be happy to pay more for…
  6. Yes, we enjoyed the first one we went to but the second was heaving…It resembled the one run by the Mad Hatter! The food went around fast but less so the tea! Also The Retreat Lounge/Michael’s offers afternoon tea of a good standard but not available to all. Perhaps, Blu could be a nice venue for an afternoon tea event? Keep the numbers to a reasonable limit leaving space for some live but not too lively music!
  7. Another vote for an escape room! I remember a mystery dinner on a cruise once, RC I think…Certainly the ship will know it’s ‘quiet’ nights in the speciality restaurants and could try something…
  8. Thinking of the number of posts about lunch options on boarding this could be a winner. Bistro on 5 used to fulfil this role but somehow Sushi doesn’t seem to have filled the gap…
  9. I don’t think paying for peace and quiet was in my mind when I started this post! As you say it would be difficult to see how to charge for it. Definitely it would be nice to have some star acts…
  10. Much more enjoyable and profitable use of space! I hope Celebrity is reading this!
  11. I love the use of the word ‘extravagant’…There must be lots of guests who have never experienced a midnight buffet. I think a real extravaganza once a cruise could be a real hit!
  12. It is a few years since we were on Reflection. If you are travelling as a three (two in bedroom, one in lounge) then if I remember correctly it is a Jack and Jill bathroom in the CS but access to the bathroom is via the bedroom in the signature suite. If I am correct (I hope someone else confirms) that could be a downside…However, I agree with other posters the additional dining perks with the signature suites are well worth having… All restaurants are included other than Chefs Table and similar…
  13. Oooh yes! Afternoon tea, a taste of home for us! I do remember in the Ocean Liner (Murano equivalents) they used to do this I think once per cruise. I think they used to have a string trio… I would love a ‘Drive the ship with the Captain’ but I definitely think I would be a liability…
  14. We have been with Celebrity a long time but I don’t remember their brunch offerings. One thing that does really annoy us at times on Celebrity is the early time the breakfast ends on sea days. We often end up at the Captain’s Club breakfast because that is open until 10am. A breakfast come lunch seems a great alternative…
  15. I wonder how long it will be before someone posts that E and E+ should get tokens as an option to bags! It could put top suite guests ‘in a spin’ if they had to shove their own smalls in a machine! Thanks for your positive input to this thread…
  16. We are discussing things we may enjoy resurrecting or introducing into our Celebrity experience and if it makes X a $ and stops them cutting corners on other things we are all winners!!! A bit of a more light hearted thread to my mind is needed sometimes to keep our perspective on life in general and cruising in particular…
  17. OP here Mike, Not offended in the least. I do understand where you are coming from. I am just attempting to leave the doom and gloom behind and consider a few things some of us may enjoy and be willing to spend a few $$ on… I must confess the two things that have been mentioned so far that really appeal to me are the midnight buffet. I think that could be a really special event if Celebrity put the time and effort into it. The second thing is the buffet special dining, especially if it could involve some local produce…
  18. You know it is a big area. If they can have hot glass classes on some ships you would think they could arrange a venue for cooking classes…
  19. Sometimes red tape stops play…you would think there was some way around it?
  20. I can’t remember ever seeing but you only notice things like this if you are looking. I will keep my eyes open next cruise! Perhaps it could be a sit down meal but a brunch menu or perhaps it could start at 10.30am in a section of the buffet…
  21. That would definitely go down well on sea days! Book me in! It could easily be done in one of the speciality restaurants or again in a section of the buffet….
  22. I think some of the music charters are adults only? I could be mistaken…
  23. They are open daily and the evening menu is more popular. I think a burger venue on ships without Lawn Grill (all but two) could find this popular…
