I would certainly like to see a Zenith Plus Level. We did not get to 6000 points by booking suites but by true loyalty.

I agree a Zenith Plus level at 7500 points would be great !!! Would probably have about as many members as the original Zenith level did when it was first implemented in late 2013 (less than 50).

Even Zeniths don't get any free dining upgrade (unless the top cruiser) but complementary Blu access would be a great perk for Zenith+.

Also would be nice if they honored EVERY Zenith+ onboard and not just the top cruiser.

Last week my daughter had 50 points less than the top cruiser (both triple Zenith) and more Celebrity cruises (250+), but got nothing !!!

  2. I would love to know WHY the price increases were so large ???

For example the Whispering Angel was $12 a glass and is now $19 - a 58% increase !!!

Even the Mer Soleil was $14 a glass and is now $19 a glass - a 35.7% increase.

None of these wines increased anywhere near that much in stores.

Seems like Celebrity is trying to make sure they have no repeat business !!!

I still can't tell if there's anyone on this thread who's actually encountered this yet to know. I believe way back when there was  a second hand story off of a social media post. There appears to be a lot of assuming the worst...

We were onboard Reflection in early December while Celebrity was rolling out the wine price increases. We were never charged a surcharge, but many times were told that if on the subsequent cruise they would charge a surcharge. Were onboard Summit a week later. Specifically asked the shore side concierge to have Whispering Angel available in the Retreat lounge. They did and we went thru the one bottle the first day. On the second day we asked for more and were told that the Retreat manager was trying to get more. On the third day we asked again. This time the bar server said they could not serve it because it was over the Premium Package. We talked to both the Suite Manager and the F&B Manager and were told we could have it but we would be charged a surcharge. The F&B said this has always been Celebrity policy. We refused the surcharge and had mixed drinks instead.

My question is in response to the new president stating that there will not surcharge for any wine on the menu in the Retreat lounge, the Retreat sundeck or Luminae. I know that after the price increases were implemented earlier this month there were MANY wines on the Luminae wine list over $17 a glass. Either they are scurrying to update those menus or suite guests (and only suite guests) will get the overpriced wines w/o a surcharge !!!

Is anyone onboard currently who can comment about this? Are you getting wines priced over $17 listed on the Luminae wine menu w/o a surcharge? Or have they removed all the wines over $17?

THat's the thing, they never apologized, and most of that time they just told us to sit and wait while they got a manager. They eventually just said "You can go ahead" with no explanation. Being in a TSA-like situation where speaking up could have them take disproportionate action and even make us miss the cruise, we just went ahead, and decided to deal with it when we got back via official customer service channels.

So sorry about your ordeal. I have been on over 150 Celebrity cruises and can tell you that the average terminal employee is an idiot !!! Nothing nearly as bad as what you experienced but SO many issues with port employees. Will be interesting to see what Celebrity's response is. Thank you for posting !!!

We will be on Beyond on January 8th and will see if there are surcharges in Retreat. Mer Soleil is our usual Chardonnay onboard. We were able to get it in the Retreat on the Ascent Maiden Voyage without a surcharge (only had at beginning of cruise in Retreat) but were surcharged $2 in all restaurants on the sailing. Which Rose? I had the Jean Luc Colombo Rose (hope I have the name right) that I enjoyed; it was priced at $17.

Whispering Angel is now priced at $19 a glass even though two others priced at $17 a glass have the same $60 a bottle price !!

Just a question here. Has anybody actually been surcharged for a drink in the Retreat Lounge?

I am the person who made the FB posting. Was onboard Reflection early in the month and the wine prices were on the rise. We were not charged a surcharge anywhere but were specifically told in Blu and Murano "if you are on the next cruise I will have to surcharge you". So I asked the shoreside concierge to have Whispering Angel Rose available in the Retreat lounge on my Dec 16 Summit sailing. Whispering Angel was recently raised from $12 to $19 a glass !!! When I boarded they had one bottle in the Retreat lounge which we consumed the first day. The following day I asked for more and was told that the Retreat Manager was working on getting more. The following day the server told me they could not serve it to me since it was over the premium cap. We confronted the Suite manager about this and he said they would serve it to me but I would be surcharged. At the Captain's Club Celebration the F&B manager confirmed this policy (indicating it has always been in lace). I was not willing to pay a surcharge. There is a $17 Rose that I drank instead.

Many people on FB have indicated that they are paying upcharges for their wine in Luminae,

One response indicated that Celebrity called her just hours after receiving her email complaint saying there have been so many complaints that the executive committee is meeting about the new higher wine prices this week, with a solution promised by year end.

I personally do not understand because in prior years they would raise the prices $1-$2 per glass and then raise the cap to cover the new higher prices.

Obviously increasing wine prices by 50+% in one step is INSANE !!!

    We will see what happens.

They have raised the cap to $20.50.   Having said that the waiters are not fully trained and one friend we knew was charged a $3.00 for a glass of wine over the $17 price and when he took it to Guest Relations she treated him like he was a crook -   after researching she gave him the credit without even an apology.

Is the $20.50 including the extra 20% gratuity because you are in Australia?

I believe fleet wide the cap is still $17 for the premium package.

Were onboard Reflection last week drinking nothing but wines priced at $19+ on the new menus w/o a surcharge. Some menus came out mid cruise !!! One wine was $13 and now $19- ABSURD !!!
