  1. Sounds like a great trip so far! Agree that the grill is nothing special but the atmosphere is nice. We prefer the outdoor tables at the restaurant though, when we want to dine al fresco. Looking forward to your next post.
  2. We're slumming it in Business. Next time!
  3. We are. And we are excited to try it! First big trip in at least ten years where we're not flying with an airline in the SkyTeam alliance. But SkyTeam has nothing useful in Australia, now that Virgin Australia isn't in the alliance any longer, so this made much more sense. Just a simple hop from JFK-SIN-Darwin on the way to join Silver Cloud, and Perth-SIN-JFK coming home. Simple. Other than the ridiculous flight times...
  4. Jazzbeau & Jazzbelle are well underway. Just under 15 hours to go... Have a great trip! This June we will fly the JFK-SIN non-stop route. Should be fun!
  5. We are now also looking at additional sailing on Le CC for December. Helsinki RT, with stops in Stockholm, Visby, Gdansk, Riga, and Tallinn. We're thinking of the 11 December sailing. If all goes to plan we should be either retired or part-time by then... 🤞🤞 There is an overnight in Stockholm, which we've never visited. Poland and Latvia would be new countries for us. Though we changed planes in Warsaw once, and crossed through into the Schengen zone there, we don't really count that as a "visit" so this would make it more official in our book.
  6. You got it! Shaking my head. I am the oldest of 14 siblings and cousins on my mother's side - the youngest of whom is still in his 20s - so they keep me updated on the kid lingo. And now that my oldest nephew has turned 18, the education will only continue.
  7. Caviargal! Haven't seen you on the forums in seemingly forever. Welcome back and glad to see you again.
  8. Agree!! Why couldn't it be us? She made it back yesterday afternoon, finally. Sorry for the thread hijack, M. Back to your regularly scheduled WC!
  9. Looks like a good day to stay inside and curl up under a blanket! One of my sisters is currently stuck in Kona. Not sure if you've seen the story but apparently the runway developed a few cracks which required emergency repairs, so they shut down the airport Monday afternoon. It was repaired and flights resumed yesterday. She had a replacement flight last night which got canceled at the last minute. Can you stop by Kona on the way to Honolulu and pick her up? 😉 Hope you are enjoying the sea days, and relaxing a whole lot.
  10. Last year, I climbed that street! Well, it was a virtual workout on my iFit treadmill. But I had Graham McTavish as my guide.
  11. Last I heard, he was living on the Edge...the Celebrity Edge, that is. They are crossing the Tasman from Sydney to New Zealand. Looked like he was having a great time!
  12. My dear grandmother taught me: I before E, Except after C, Or when sounding like "A," Such as neighbor or weigh. And even that doesn't cover all of the exceptions. Weird, isn't it? I don't want to seize the opportunity to get feisty with our foreign friends about their leisure activities, but it would be the height of laziness to forfeit this opportunity.
  13. Wonderful! Wishing you a pleasant cruise. Our two trips on the Ponant Explorers were both fully booked and we didn't feel as if it was too crowded. If you can't find the ship, she is at Latitude -4.62529, Longitude 55.46234, according to the Ponant website. Have a fantastic voyage and post some updated along the way if you can. Madagascar is a unique destination and one that we enjoyed very much. I'll be interested in how your cruise ship visit compares.
  14. Oh no! Sorry it wasn't what you expected. I hope the rock wasn't too uncomfortable.
  15. If it's anything like the cruise we did together last year in Finland and Sweden, I'd recommend it too!
  16. We are eagerly anticipating this for sure. And even better news, our friends from Toronto are going to join us! My TA says that cabins are filling fast. Glad that Chris found this voyage.
  17. Well, we did it! We booked Le Commandant Charcot for a 6d/5n ocean voyage from Reykjavik to Tromsø this October. We have been very eager to see this ship and even though we usually want more activity during our cruises this opportunity was too good to pass up. It will be good practice for our (potential) retirement in November. With the additional 10% off due to our Grand Admiral status (love that status match!), we splurged for a privilege suite on Deck 8. We figured that we'd spend more time in the room on an Ocean voyage, and also it would probably be the only time we could afford one of these suites. We didn't go for the Duplex suite as the step-up in price was a bit much. We will probably go to Reykjavik a day early (at most) since we've been there a lot. We'll stay in Tromsø for a few days afterwards and see if we get some Northern Lights sightings. We have spent a day there once after a Svalbard cruise, and except for the airport it's a beautiful place, so we're looking forward to seeing it again. Finally found the review from your OV, @AussieBoyTX. It was challenging (for me) to find because the words "ocean voyage" aren't in the title! I had been searching for a few days but finally found it by brute force this morning. Will take a cursory look at possible flights but won't do anything about that for a few months. This should be easy to plan compared to our other trips.
  18. One must train hard for these cruises. Not for the timid!
  19. Someone got a picture of me during my last Silversea cruise!
  20. Ron, the caption for the first one doesn't show on my phone. It something like, "Hold still! I have to take this picture for proof of delivery."
  21. That looks delicious! I'm on the treadmill now, burning a few calories while dinner is cooking (not burning) in the oven. But my appetite is definitely whetted.
