  1. Thanks Jim, that ties up with what we have booked on MSC seascape for Feb/March next year. We are around £14k after discounts for 14 nights in a RS (in the UK we tend to get a discount off the cruise cost rather than obc which seems to be the way it works in the US). I suspect that the Oceana vista suite is a big bigger interior than our RS but we probably have more outside space. I suspect that the Oceana food is a step up from both MSC and Celebrity. I probably rate Celebrity as the better of the two but not by much.
  2. As are we, about 200 points off Zenith but have come tot he conclusion that getting there doesn't make any difference to us now.
  3. We are pretty much the same. 27 Celebrity cruises almost in A row (1 MSC a few years ago) and we have no Celebrity Cruises booked at all. Are doing MSC YC next year and booked another for 2026. I looked at 2025 Celebrity prices and the wanted £28k for a RS for 14 nights. What I booked for 2026 is similar sized at a cost of £11k and the product was every bit as good as Celebrity.
  4. There are too many things that can go wrong if you fly in the day of the cruise which could result in you missing it. No point in taking that sort of risk. when we travel to the US for a cruise we always plan to arrive two days earlier than the cruise date so that we can cope with tings outwith our control and we never fly back to the UK on the same day as the cruise returns to the US. Even for a cruise leaving Friday the UK we travel to the cruise port the day before so that there is no chance of missing it. If the flight doesn’t go on plan we can always drive the 600 miles as a last resort.
  5. I I had changed a bit when we were in a PH. This is the Silhouette 2nd cruise after its refit in Feb 2020, then covid started. Excuse the unpacked luggage.
  6. I had this issue as well. The way I got round it was to log in using the booking number rather than using the msc log in process.
  7. Is $12k the going rate for a RS now? We have 2 booked for Feb/Mar next year for £7k each week which is similar to what we paid for one on Preziosa 5 years ago - that's about $9k. I know it is different seasons but I thought the winter was more expensive.
  8. Thank you. We will be there twice on our b2b.
  9. Is the YC restaurant open on Ocean Cay Day?
  10. Thanks for such a full list. One of the things that really irritated us in February on Celebrity was the fact that not only was the suite restaurant closed on port days but the also decided to close the Porche as well on those days. We were in a RS with free speciality restaurants who found our choice of food on port days restricted to either the buffet or the Succinct on 5, which we don’t like, you could order room service but the choice was pretty dire. We didn’t know if closing the Porch was a fleet wide decision or restricted to the Silhouette. Suspect it was just on the Silhouette.
  11. I suspect that I may have better luck asking to change some of the bottles for Bacardi or Bacardi 8 as those are similar priced to those displayed in the photograph.
  12. Thank you for your very full reply.
  13. Thank you. We have separate bookings for each 7 night cruise and paid deposits for each one. We originally booked 3 consecutive cruises and paid 3 deposits but as time marched on I really could not face doing the Jamaica, Cayman, Cozumel leg again as we have done this numerous times before on Celebrity. I know that in Jamaica the ship visits Ocho Rios rather than Falmouth but we spent a total of 56 days over a number of years in Ocho Rios and have seen it, done it. On the b2b we have done in the past in RS’s the alcohol was rebnewed at the end of cruise 1 and any alcohol we purchased in the liquor store was delivered. We did always take what was left of cruise 1 and kept it out of view in a cupboard but I seriously doubt we would go through that volume over several month but I will take your advice for any bottles that we are still working on before the end of cruise 1. It does look as if that drink selection could do with some good Zacapa and a nice cognac.
  14. We are cruising on Seascape next year b2b in a RS. I keep seeing bits about what is included with the suite but have not found a definitive list. Our only previous MSC experience on Preziosa, again in. RS but we do not recall getting a bundle of alcohol or the use of a cabana then. Can anyone assist?
  15. Try Google and you should be able to buy it, it looks like you can get it from Amazon or Boots, probably under Dramamine. I always find that if it gets a bit rough seas, if you get outside snd concentrate on the horizon, that it works for me.
  16. Hi we are cruising on Seascape next year b2b in a RS. I keep seeing bits about what is included with the suite but have not found a definitive list. Our only previous MSC experience on Preziosa, again in. RS but we do not recall getting a bundle of alcohol or the use of a cabana then although that was pre Covid and our butler that cruise was worse than useless, other than on day one we only saw him on the second last night when he insisted on escorting us to the restaurant.
  17. We have only done one MSC cruise about 4 years ago in a RS on Preziosa but I do not recall being offered any bottles of alcohol then. We are on Seascape in February for b2b in a RS and just trying to find out what to expect.
  18. When do they normally update the app information like having dinning times that reflect the days that you are at sea and in port. we go onto the Silhouette on Thursday and the app is still showing that Luminae is open for lunch on day 2 when we are in Key West. I have changed over the cruises (we are doing b2b) to make sure that they have updated but the information is still wrong.
  19. MSC do a status match. Before we did our cruise in 2019 I think the matched Elite and plus to Diamomd level but that had changed to gold level, the one below black, when we cruised. I doesn’t give much at whatever level you are at. What is more important is that you get 5% discount if you are a Voyager club member even if you have not cruised with them before so you have to join that before you book the first cruise although we did get the discount added after the booking. Here is a link to the benefits. https://www.msccruises.co.uk/manage-booking/msc-voyagers-club/members-benefits
  20. Having been in the Suite experience since it was introduced and having also travelled in the YC in a RS, I can confirm that the YC lounge certainly beats the Retreat hands down. You have a proper bar and enough staff to serve drinks to whoever want one, or more. There is continuing changing entertainment throughout the night which we found enough for what we were looking for. The pool deck does have a buffet with hot and cold offerings although we didn’t try this as in the Med we found the food covered in wasps etc but as long as you watch what you are taking it should be ok. We have 3 MSC YC cruises booked for 2015 in the Caribbean which will be a slightly different experience as they will not be doing the continuos daily disembark and embarkation at every port.
  21. That is only for one ship. The rest will no doubt go to the Beyond which will probably be the next in line, then the Apex, then Edge. It will be at least April before they start on the S Class……
