  1. Seem like the system by Celebrity is much more complicated than it should be.
  2. We got the invoice after we put down the deposit and noticed that it was non-refundable. In addition, I tried by myself to book a cruise through the celebrity website on the same ship, at the same time, with the same cruise. Up until committing to book, I did not see any discussion about refundable or non-refundable deposits.
  3. We were not aware that there was a "no refund" on our deposit. Certainly if we had been given the choice we would have put down a bigger deposit if it was refundable. If we had been notified that we would lose the deposit, we simply would have used the deposit (even with the $100.00 penalty) and booked another cruise (with a refundable deposit) In any case, I did submit some of the comments from this posting to my travel agent, and he is refunding our deposit.
  4. We tried, but according to our travel agent, Celebrity said.....no
  5. Yes, in this case our travel agent failed to notify us.
  6. We had booked a 7 day cruse on Celebrity Ascent for March, 2025. The deposit for the three of us was $750.00. However we discovered that we had a conflict and couldn't cruise that month. We asked our travel agent to cancel which he did. All of this occurred over a time period of less than one week. After it was cancelled, our agent notified us that we would lose the entire deposit. We tried to contact Celebrity, but since we booked through a travel agent, they said that there was "nothing they could no." Our Travel Agent informed us that Celebrity refused to refund our deposit or to use it as a credit for another cruise. We are Elite Cruisers with Celebrity, but probably this will be our last booking.
  7. My wife and I are also in our 70's and we have also cruised extensively. We are scheduled to cruise on the Nieuw Statendam a year from October in the Mediterranean as well as Israel. We recently completed a Trans-Atlantic on Regal Princess and last year we did cruise on on Celebrity Equinox. We have recently booked for March, 2025 on Sun Princess. We have only sailed once before on Holland America. Not really impressed, but our friends have told us to give a line a 2nd chance. We do like Celebrity, but are not a fan of their new "Infinite Balcony" on their Edge Class Ships. We have always like Princess, especially Club or Reserve Class. We do believe that Celebrity and Princess are more alike than different. Both are upscale cruise lines with excellent entertainment, developed more to cruising than have "rides" on top deck. Believe that you wouldn't go wrong with either line.
  8. Is this new to the Princess Line to make many of the Mini-Suites only designed to accommodate two passengers?
  9. My Sister-In-Law went on the Celebrity Edge. She did miss the true balcony, but for her, she decided it would not be a game changer. It is argued that in exchange you do get a larger cabin.
  10. We did look at the Reserve Cabana Class Mini suite on the Sun Princess, but to be honest, it comes with a very large price hike. It may be getting to the point that one should start to consider a true luxury cruise line. Just some thoughts.
  11. Maybe I am wrong, but I had thought all the Mini Suites on their older classes such as Royal could accommodate at least 3 individuals.
  12. The only problem that I found with the Reserve Mini on Sun Princess is that many of them are just for two passengers. The Reserve Class Mini for 3 individuals or more are usually connecting cabins which I heard can be noisier.
  13. My wife and I are planning to take a 7-day cruise to the Caribbean. We have been looking at the Sun Princess (Sphere Class) compared to the Celebrity Edge. We have sailed on both of these lines extensively, but never on these two classes of ships. On Princess we would book Reserve Class Mini Suite, and on Celebrity we usually book either Concierge Class or Aqua Class. Which would be the better choice.

  15. We were looking at a voyage on the Sun on October 18. We were planning a Club Reserve Mini suite for three passengers. But the only M1 cabins that could accommodate (according to Princess) 3 people were connecting cabins which we, personally do not like.
  16. We are looking at Reserve Class, on the Sun Princess. We noticed that many rooms in this category are now limited to only two people. Those that can accomodate 3 or 4 are often connecting cabins. Does anybody have any idea as to why Princess designed Club Reserve this way.
  17. When we were on Regal Princess, Trans-Atlantic, my wife and I would eat an early breakfast then go up to deck 16 or 17 and sit in the rear, at times for several hours. Very relaxing.
  18. Looking forward to cruising on the Sun Princess and comparing it to the Royal Class on Princess as well as the Solstice and Edge Classes on Celebrity.
  19. Recently booked Club Reserve for October, 2024. Looking forward to comparing it to the Royal Class.
  20. We enjoy the stops at a Private Island. The ship emptys out and one can enjoy a nice day on the ship.
  21. I can see Princess upgrading the ship in Dry Dock and start to use it more exclusively for exotic or world cruises.
  22. When my wife and I cruised on the Solstice Class Ships we always booked “Aqua Class” because of “Blu”. However we do question what would be the best choice in respect to a 7 day Caribbean Cruise in the new Edge Class Boats…specifically Aqua Class, Concierge Class, or Deluxe Verandah. What are one’s thought and experiences about the experience they have had on these difference classes. Thanks for your thoughts.
  23. We always make sure to put a "Do not Distrub" on the door and of course use the deadbolt.
