It is time to move on to 2021 and stop this 30 day "maybe" charade.  No one has been able to accurately forecast the future. If the last 4 months have taught us anything it is uncertainty will reign supreme for the near future.  All the cruise lines seem to be continuing to spin their wheels and burning cash to try to start up tomorrow.  Between travel restrictions, quarantine requirements, capacity limitations and everything else every line continues to shoot at a moving target.  Well, the only ones continuing to be hit by those shots is us!  We had vacations, trips of a lifetime, precious memories to be made all dashed over the last 4 months.  Many have shifted to Oct, Nov or Dec or continue(like we do)to hope our 2020 cruises will happen.  Many of us here have a very strong passion for cruising and want to get back to sea in the worst way.  It just seems like Royal can step up and take the lead and focus on a 2021 start up.  Give us a detailed plan on what they can and are doing to make cruising "safe" in the Covid era.  Cruising will return.  Why force it and fail.  Plan it, work the plan and spend the time and energy to let us all know what they will do and tell us what we will need to do so we can resume planning for a cruise that should happen.

    amen to that!

  2. Seems like the frustration is starting to get to all of us......be it cruising....or other traveling.  I totally agree that no one knows when this will end.  I had 5 cruises cancelled, with one pending in December.  I get my refunds so I am good with that.  But I really detest the idea that the cruise lines continue to offer & book, take the money, when they really don't know what the future will bring.  I am shifting my traveling to all inclusives in the Carib, and visiting the good old USA>

  3. This may be a good time to find a good TA.  We have done dozens of all inclusives.  Sandals are fabulous.....but very expensive.  A TA could personalize your trip & will also let you know what areas are now open.  We are headed next month to Secret Maroma/Cancun.  Also, take some time to view some YouTube presentations.  Have fun!!

I know it’s a sad situation. I’ve only had one cruise cancelled and I know how sad that was . And although royal carribean and other cruise lines are struggling with cash flow it does not make it right to keep people thinking they will cruise when they won’t .

cruise lines should just stop advertising for holidays/

cabins till they know for sure when it going to start again. However the way its

going and if continuing to go like this much longer they will not be the cruise lines we

have Cos they will be out of business.

sad to say it but it can’t go on like this

it IS very sad & i too, feel like, cruising may be falling apart.  unsure as to how long they can continue with no sailings.....of if, and when, they open up, prices might be so high that none of us will want to pay the prices

  5. I know that the Covid has controlled much of our lives lately.  My hubby and I are Diamond + & both members of the Club Royale.  I have had 5 cruises cancelled since the Covid, as i am sure, some others have.  I am throwing in the towel......I am so sick of booking, being hopeful, only to have my cruise cancelled.  My computer is full of post its, trying to track the refunds that I am getting.  Although we truly love and miss cruising, we are just not going to do it anymore....

  6. I just received our sailing documents, via email, for our 7 day cruise, our of New Orleans, for August 1st, traveling to Key West, Nassau & Coco Cay.  Does this mean we are good to go with our sailing????  Sure would like to know, since I could possibly book another vacation on that date?  your thoughts? opinions? anyone else on the sailing?

I’m not seeing this anywhere in the federal register filing, nor on the CDC website.

The extended Order is in effect until one of the following occurs:

    • The Secretary of Health and Human Services’ declares that COVID-19 no longer constitutes a public health emergency, or
    • The CDC Director rescinds or modifies the order based on specific public health or other considerations, or
    • 100 days have passed from April 15, the date the extended order was published in the Federal Registerexternal icon and went into effect. 100 days from April 15 is July 24.

Yes I have, and have been for about the last two years.

I started an after one of the big Noro  outbreaks.

And, even prior to Covid   I used a sanitizing wipe  after I gave my menu back to a server.  On the rare occasion I used the buffet, i used a hand wipe once again after I had handled all the serving tongs and before I started eating  Touch elevator buttons with knuckles.  This is my MO regardless if I am on land or at sea, and has been for the last few years.

Just saw this on a Las Vegas message board. It's the plan from the CEO of the Wynn. Not saying right or wrong but it is nice to see someone thinking of a plan for the future. If Vegas finds a way to make it happen why not cruise lines? They are after all floating hotels...

I had not seen this.....good plan....thanks for sharing

  10. I too, was very skeptical.  We went to CocoCay the opening week.  We are 2 retired adults, not interested in the water park.  We enjoyed a wonderful outdoor buffet.  Hats off to RC for putting free, umbrellas on the lounge chairs.  We enjoyed the pool, which is set up nicely.  But we really enjoyed going into the ocean.  It is "coved" so you don't have to worry about huge waves knocking you over.  Those who snorkeled saw many fish just a few feet from shore.  I would highly recommend you give this a try!

We haven't been to CocoCay yet.  If you aren't interested in the waterslide park, what is there to do?  if the beach club worth it?  Is there plenty of space around the island to just sit out?

    Thank you.
