  1. Your post made me laugh.....being an ex hair stylist, "hair" has always been a big thing in my life. The one thing I ALWAYS do is pack my own shampoo/conditioner. The ones on the ships smell good but don't do the job. It could be something as simple as how they wash the pillow cases. Take a fabric sheet with you & constantly run it over your brush...this will help with static. Also, if you have a newer blow dryer you might want to pack it..older models do not have an Ionizer to prevent static. Also, it could just be the water....prior to going switch to a spray made specifically for humidity control.....if all else fails....wear a hat!!! Good luck.....I struggle with this each and evertime I cruise!!

  2. Hi there....we are seasoned cruisers but will complete our 1st X cruise, on the Silhouette, leaving 2/28. I am looking forward to your post & pictures!!! As for questions: please let me know what is a "have to see, have to do" on board. It would be greatly appreciated. Safe traveling

  3. Hello all, We are coming up on our 1st Celebrity Cruise next month. I was rather surprised to see they charge 18.88/per person/per day for a water package? Will they allow you to bring in an unopened case of water with a luggage tag on it? I would like to have it my room vs going to the bar to request it.

  4. Hello everyone.....leaving for our 1st NCL Cruise on Sunday/4 days. On RC my hubby LOVES having his lox/bagel/cream cheese/capers for breakfast. Does anyone know if this is available on the SKY? if so, where? MDR? buffet breakfast....thx

  5. we too, are D+ with RC, and will do our 1st Celebrity Silhouette cruise in Feb/2016. After reading the comments we are looking forward to better food, an older atmosphere, and quiet nights. However, we ARE big gambling people.....is there anyone out there that can comment on the casinos on RC vs casinos on Celebrity> Thank you

  6. we will be completing our first NCL cruise the end of January/2016/courtesy of Caesars Entertainment...that being said, we are slot players. Can anyone comment on the casino? Luck? machines? etc. Who is the casino Host? Also the spa? book ahead ? or wait until specials come along? satisfied with services?

  7. Hey KMB....we are in similar situation.....we are leaving for our 1st NCL 4 day cruise the end of January courtesy of Caesers Entertainment. (we have cruised 29 times before with RC) We have already booked for Pride of America in 12/2016, as they seem to cover most of the islands. I am concerned about all the negative comment for the Sky and for the Pride...I am hoping to obtain more info also

  8. Hey lmaxwell/cool cruiser...You post caught my eye.....we are D+ with RC and were given our NCL cruise courtesy of Caesars Entertainment for our gambling. I have to say that my excitement was a little dampened by everything I have read...however, we are flexible people and shall have a good time no matter what the scenario. I was hoping you could help me out....we are there for 4 days...I plan on having dinner at The Crossings one night, The MDR, one nite.....what other venue (for no additional charge) would you recommend??? any small cafes, bistros etc? Also, anything else for a 1st time NCL cruiser...you seem to have an open mind.......thx for all!!

  9. Hi all....my spouse and I have been gamblers for years via Caesars Entertainment, who is also connected with NCL> We are Diamond Plus with RC, but decided to take advantage of a good deal for a 4 day cruise, via NCL. Has anyone done this? what is to be expected? will my combined points of NCL and Caesars Entertainment really make a difference? Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated!!

  10. Hello everyone, after yrs of cruising with RC, we decided to try our Celebrity. I am in the process of booking excursions etc. My spouse and I are huge water drinkers & always buy a 1/2 case for a week. Is the water package REALLY $18.88/per person/per day/for water?????? What do you folks do???

  11. we just returned back from our 1st river cruise, Budapest to Nuremburg, so I am in NO way in expect. We did go in 2 days early to Budapest to rest up and really enjoy the city. I loved Regensburg and its old city. my hubby liked Nuremburg and its history. I agree, with the prior post, the wine valley is beautiful. Every city has something to offer. Do your homework and plan your trip according to your passions. enjoy

  12. Glad to see this post....We have 24 ocean cruises & just completed our 1st Viking River Cruise (Blue Danube) I looked this week into going on a Mississippi Cruise and was floored by the cost. For $4,000 per person, I can stay at all these places at a 5 star hotel. If someone can shed some light as to why these trips are so expensive, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  13. Hi There....we did this trip in reverse.....Budapest to Nuremburg, sail date of 8/21 on the Tor. The river was down & we did a ship swap to the Var, in Wilhelm Germany. Viking was very organized, all went well, and we lost no time or excursions. Keep an open mind and have fun!!

  14. We, too, just returned from our 1st Viking River Cruise....Budapest to Nuremburg. We also did a ship swap from the Tor to the Var, which was very organized and did not effect any of our cruise. We were both extremely pleased with the boat, the crew, excursions, food and our fellow travelers. Viking made it very easy....we have already booked for Paris to Normandy in 2016!!:)

  15. Hello there, Corts 2! We are also D+ with RC & just yesterday booked our 1st cruise with Celebrity. We are excited. We were also made Elite.....I am wondering if I should call back & question an upgrade. We booked a Veranda..Unsure how their program works. Let us know how you like it!!!

  16. Hello Bob7

We are headed to Budapest/Marriott on 8/17 prior to our Viking Budapest>Nuremburg river cruise. Happy to hear you were pleased with the hotel. Do most folks speak English? We are planning to do the Parliament Bldg & the Baths. Are there any other suggestions that you may have? thx
