  1. I would have thought so too, but I was looking at the bar menus in Seabourn Source to get an idea of what kinds of alcohol are included (and not included), and not a single one lists amaretto as a choice of liquor. They list amaros but I don’t think that’s the same thing. Otherwise I see various brands of vodka, gin, tequila, rum, vermouth, port, cognac, single malt scotch, and bourbon. There are some other choices on the paid list, but no amaretto anywhere. The lists seem pretty exhaustive which made me think maybe they don’t have amaretto (which would be a huge bummer for me, although I guess I can get some in Athens to bring aboard with me).
  2. Does Seabourn serve Amaretto in any of their bars? Specifically on Encore. Thank you!
  3. That's also a good idea. Maybe I will check out the shop when we get there, and then if there are things I want I can cancel any shore excursions we aren't sure about. We have also booked massages and a couple of retreat days. Thanks for all the feedback everyone!
  4. Thank you! We will probably just do mykonos on our own too but it is good to have options.
  5. Do you have the info on the sailing place that does Delos and the sunset cruises? Thank you!
  6. What are you planning for Istanbul? We don't just want to run around looking at mosques so I am trying to find more unusual activities. Still deciding whether we are brave enough to try a traditional hamam. I'm not that worried about getting back to the ship - we are in port from 12 pm one day until 11 pm on the next day. The Dolmabahce palace and tea Seabourn excursion looks kind of interesting, and maybe the Bosphorus cruise (which I definitely want to do, just not sure if I want or need to do it with Seabourn). I definitely want to get to the Asian side at some point, looking at a food tour for that. I'm still not sure about Kavala and Izmir. I can't find much info at all about Kavala, and Izmir seems like it's mainly for Ephesus, which we will do from Kusadasi. Skiathos and Mykonos we will most likely do on our own, and Milos I have booked the Seabourn geological excursion which says very limited participation so should be small.
  7. Thank you! I am really not 100% sure of any of the ports, to be honest. Our ports are Skiathos, Kavala, Istanbul overnight, Izmir, Kusadasi, Mykonos and Milos. I was considering using a private car in Kusadasi for Ephesus, although I have found other private tours of Ephesus that cost less than the private car with Seabourn. The only other choices for private car are Istanbul and Izmir (the private car in Mykonos is astronomically expensive and I'm sure unnecessary). Any feedback or info is always appreciated!
  8. I did reach out to my travel agent and you are correct, not everything is combinable. It looks like we will still end up with $1600 OBC, we just won't be able to use the referral credit. But I appreciate the heads up, thanks!
  9. I just called and honestly they were not very helpful. This is the first direct contact I have had with Seabourn and it wasn't the most encouraging experience, unfortunately. The guy said that there is no way to know the maximum capacity for any tour (which seems like it can't be true, otherwise how do they decide when it's full?), and that there are no tours he can recommend as being smaller. He really did not seem that interested in helping me. I may just pick a couple of days and do private car excursions, which will use up the OBC nicely. @highplanesdrifters when you book a private car, do you tell them what you want to do, or let them suggest an itinerary, or both? Have you been happy with the quality of the guides?
  10. Calling is a good idea. I'll do that tomorrow.
  11. We just booked a Greece/Turkey cruise for this fall and between the promotional OBC, OBC from our travel agent and OBC from a referral, we will end up with close to $2000 in OBC. The only way I can see to use anything close to that amount is through shore excursions (I realize there are other things but I don't think they will make a dent). I am usually a DIY person and we don't love big bus tours, so I was really not planning on doing ship excursions. How are the Seabourn excursions? I assume they vary, is there a way to tell which are smaller? The info on the site doesn't give a number of guests for each tour. I want to use the OBC, but I also don't want to spend all our time driving around in a big bus with tons of people! Or am I missing another way to use that amount of OBC? Any help appreciated!
  12. OK that is good info, I just assumed it worked like in the US when you miss your flight. I will probably just pay a little more for a slightly later flight. The next cheap one is at 3 pm and I don't want to go that late. Thanks for the feedback.
  13. I don't think so....they have flights every hour (the only reason I would book this one is that it's cheaper), so wouldn't they just put us on the next one if we missed it? Or do the Aegean Air flights fill completely?
  14. I am also arriving in Athens at 7:00 am, but on a Wednesday, not a Sunday. Do you think on a Wednesday I could make it for a 10:00 am Aegean air flight to Santorini? Not sure how far ahead we would need to arrive for a domestic flight, and not sure what the weekday traffic is like. We could keep our luggage with us for disembarking, we travel pretty light. Thanks!
  15. I just booked for October 2023. Please email me at lisa6191@aol.com if you can help with a referral credit. Thanks!
  16. I wish! The cruise we had booked in 2020 had such a great itinerary, it started in Malta and then went to Sicily, then several Greek islands, then Kusadasi. It didn't have Istanbul but I'm not sure whether I want to go there anyway, still deciding. I hate that they changed the itinerary!
  17. Does anyone know if I am still considered a first-time cruiser if I had booked in October 2020 and used a referral coupon on that booking? Obviously I never went on that cruise.
  18. Hi all - We are finally trying to reschedule the Mediterranean cruise we had to cancel in October 2020. I am stuck between two itineraries. Neither one has exactly what I was looking for (I was hoping for both Valletta and Kusadasi, which were the ports I was most looking forward to on the cruise we had to cancel), so I would appreciate feedback on which of these itineraries you would prefer and why. Both on Encore, almost identical price. 1) round trip Athens 10 night October 1 Skiathos Kavala Istanbul overnight Izmir Kusadasi Mykonos Milos 2) round trip Athens 11 night October 11 Poros Syracuse Lipari Valletta Chania,Crete Marmaris Bodrum Naxos Thank you so much!
