  1. Thanks, will give that a go.
  2. Hi all Does anyone know if the Cape Fox Lodge funicular/tram is currently operating? I saw an article from November that they had redone the tracks and were getting a new car delivered, but haven't been able to find any additional info. Thanks!!
  3. No, because I purchase the Princess Plus package and my gratuities and the 18% beverage service fee is baked into the package. I've purposefully prepaid it up front so that I don't have to worry about tipping once onboard.
  4. I went from an inside cabin to a premium deluxe aft balcony on an 8 day Alaskan cruise for only 245 pp. That was a significant savings over booking the aft myself. It really depends on what categories you're moving between whether the cost difference is worth it.
  5. The grapefruit juice is not ruby red.. it's plain white grapefruit juice.
  6. Princess will not be cancelling these port stops. While the state dept. may be issuing travel warnings for these "states", the ports of call themselves are kept very safe by the Mexican government. Tourism is their bread and butter, and they rely on the money that the cruise ships bring in. You will see the Mexican government patrolling the port with machine guns while in their uniforms. They have trucks that they ride in the back of, and they police all the local malls. I do land vacations as well as cruise vacations in Mexico, and have never felt unsafe in the port towns.
  7. If it was just the beverage package, then yes I would be mistaken. But since OP didn't specify beverage package, and said Princess Plus package, I'm assuming they meant the upgrade that includes gratuites and wi-fi. Which does require both passengers to purchase it.
  8. Sadly no, both guests in the cabin must purchase the package. But it's almost just as cost effective to have the Plus for both when you look at the value of the gratuities and wi-fi.
  9. Hi all, Wondering if anyone on the Royal recently can confirm or deny if the Trident Grill is still offering this option per the Princess Website. Traditional Southern BBQ, with Poolside Ease In addition to the hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken sandwiches that passengers love at the Trident Grill, this poolside eatery transforms into a traditional smokehouse-style barbecue each evening, serving up hearty plates of jumbo chicken wings, Route 66 beef chili, Texas-style barbecue brisket, Kansas City Sweet & Smoky Pork Spare Ribs, and North Carolina Pulled Pork. Enjoy delicious southern flavors, poolside! I've never seen this offered at the pool grill before, and I've learned to take anything posted on the website with a grain of salt.
  10. That's a darn shame, and my mistake to own. I didn't check the itinerary carefully, and assumed that Princess was aware of the tide charts when crafting their itineraries. While my friend may not even know what she is missing out on, I am very familiar with these waters. My grandparents sailed them every summer on their boat while we tagged along, having the good fortune to grow up in the PNW. And then use the BC ferries system to camp all through the Sunshine Islands as adults. It just really makes me mad that Princess didn't forsee this when crafting the intinerary because these tide charts in this area are known 2 years in advance.
  11. When I get tired of the MDR menus I just head up to the buffet. The sheer amount of options up there is amazing.
  12. Princess is specifically advertising this cruise on Majestic as an Inside Passage cruise. Which surprised me too. But apparently they thought they could do it. https://www.princess.com/cruise-search/details/?voyageCode=8312
  13. Received an email from Princess about our cruise. ITINERARY CHANGE Please be advised that due to tidal constraints, Majestic Princess will now depart Vancouver at 10:45 PM on Friday, May 5, 2023. This is super disappointing as I'm bringing a first time cruiser whose only wish was to do an Alaskan cruise. Now we're going to miss sailaway, going under the bridge, and viewing the Inside passage heading north. I know Princess can't control tidal issues, but don't they have a department who watches for these things and sets the itineraries accordingly?
  14. Agree. Rhodes are delicious for this.
  15. Hi all, I've been on so many Princess ships I sometimes forget which ship I'm on. But this time I'll be on the Majestic Princess and taking a first time cruiser with me. Help me remember what are some of the must dos for first time cruisers, and particularly this ship. The Hollywood Conservatory especially through Alaska intrigues me.
  16. They're actually both bland. But I take that with a grain of salt lol.
  17. Yes and no. Not on the Lido, but in the buffet on the Lido Deck. But weirdly, when we were just on over New Year's the omelette station moved around. So you have to hunt for it. They give you a slip of paper with your order, and you take it to your table where a server will come around and pick it up and bring your omelette to you. It's not instantly made in front of you. You place an order with your chosen ingredients. I did it once, and decided fried or scrambled eggs were just easier.
  18. I believe all the lifeboats have upper seating. There's a small metal ladder to climb to get up there from the inside. I've sat up there many times when tendering was necessary and have never felt unsafe. The seating is hard molded fiberglass just like the rest of the craft. And the views are fantastic.
  19. You'll never go hungry for fruit. Just order it from the app. It will always find you.
  20. Thank you all for the good info. Good to know about potential noise issues by the art gallery. Is it just noisy during the day? I'd be fine with that.
  21. Mmmhmmmm... I'm pretty sure they would print your pictures. And I'm pretty sure you know they would as well. Printing 5 photos isn't going to break them. But go ahead and rattle your keyboard if it makes you feel better. If you hadn't noticed, the sympathy ship has sailed off into the sunset here.
  22. They've eliminated that requirement.
  23. This is an excellent suggestion. I'd love to know why you've chosen to ignore this suggestion as if it were never made.
