I read about the new $42 charge in Fox News. Since all cruise from Galveston stop at Cozumel, this is a big interest to us. Also, we've been known to go to Cozumel then Costa Maya. Does that mean we're getting charged that $42 for each Mexican stop? This charge seems too high to me since a similar charge for Amsterdam is just $8. I couldn't figure anything out on the Royal Caribbean.com since they're now including port fees in their overall price.

Are the shore excursions they listed on the find cruises the only ones offered? DH isn't impressed, and threatening to cancel.

I checked with the cruiseline, and they said they want $500 flat rate airfare. Also, to upgrade, we must pay a $100 administrative fee, plus the difference. No, guarantee we'll about reaching the ship if our flight is delayed. What's the upside of booking airfare through ACL?
-
Is there a webpage at ACL where we can pick our airfare?

Thanks, we will check them out. I think I also bought some water bottles in Iceland. We had a tour guide that told us to buy a bottle of water, then refill it at any faucet in Iceland, and it would be good. We can't pick one up at a bar with the Elite Beverage Package?

Are these what you mean? White can with blue wavy lines on the front, with the caption, "more ocean, less plastic" and "still water" and "open water." I thought they were like soft drink cans with a pop tab. How much did they sell for? I saw a photo from Office Depot that showed something like a pop tab. But others in the shape of bottles.

Thank you!

Anybody have a minibar menu? We're hoping to find some bottled water we can take for shore excursions. And I think the HAL only sells the canned water that we can't close.

May both me and DH get an AARP discount?

Usually passengers with ship tours go first. But I think if you're a suite or a lot of stars, that may be different. As a 4 star, I don't remember being told to report to a different place. We don't take tenders often anymore. I think passengers get the tender tickets at the passenger desk, then they announce them. At some point, they announce no tender tickets needed. Having gone on mostly ship tours, sometimes we've had a long wait. This is all ports, not just Bar Harbor. When we were in Greenland, the captain cancelled all tender rides. That's after several tenders had gone out. He managed to get them back. He put extra crew on the boat to spot the icebergs. Oops, I thought I was in the Canada/New England/Iceland thread. Sorry.

Once we arrived on land, we were told they had cancelled all ship tours due to weather. We had trouble getting back once. Once we had to transfer to another vessel, climb some stairs then step onto the ship. We heard it was supposed to make the tender experience better, but it didn't for us. Might be worth it. Bar Harbor is beautiful! Eat some popovers at Jordan Pond House.

How to tell which ports are tender ports?

Ketchikan had a bunch of ships during one of our trips, plus one ship that tendered. -

You never really know about tender ports, because last fall, they turned Skagway Alaska into a tender port. On our first Voyage of the Vikings, they turned Isafourger into a pier port. -
Do the Business and First Class Airfare also have flat rates?

Who picks the flights? Who picks the seats?

I don't understand why they don't add outlets during refurbishments.

It's available on the Volendam. I loaded it into the cart, but it doesn't look like they're giving me my 4* discount. It's only available on one evening.
