  1. @81Zoomie, We just docked in Dunedin NZ. When we boarded the Edge on Saturday we met the Head Butler and curiously he introduced our room steward as our "Retreat Host". He is absolutely the worst room steward or host of any cruise, he is brand new and IMO very poorly trained. Service in Luminae has been painfully slow but the food quality has been far superior to our Apex cruise last September. No complaints about the Retreat lounge they have plenty of my Buffalo Trace Bourbon and a fair selection of Australia and NZ wines included with no surcharge. Overall it has been a great cruise more by the itinerary and people onboard than the ship. We have made several friendships with some delightful incredible Aussies. Sydney is a fantastic city with so many friendly people.
  2. I was just in the Edge Retreat Lounge and we still have the old wine menu, will wait to see what we get tonight in Luminae.
  3. Yes Bombay is available in Retreat and other bars, along with several other premium labels. I have no idea why the late boarding for our next cruise. We were onboard by 11:30 for our current cruise, maybe we are getting in later than expected to Sydney.
  4. Most likely he is not vaping pot, but vaping liquid THC which has no pot odor.
  5. Here is what we are being told are the only wines available in Edge Retreat Lounge.
  6. No I asked today and we have to call room service ourselves. No adult beverages are included in PDP that can be delivered to our cabin. We have to go to the lounge and bring them back to our SS.
  7. No Evian or Vitamin water available in Retreat lounge. We do get BW delivered to our cabin included. Only water in Retreat Lounge and delivered to our Sky Suite is this:
  8. I was about to post that, yes all wine and liquors have to include gratuities in the price for cruises sailing from Australia. But with that the Elevated wines are still above PDP price.
  9. That is the Premium DP list in Luminae currently on the Edge. The prosecco is the only sparkling wine. IMO this list is ridiculous.
  10. yes that is the Premium wine list. Here is the list of Elevated wines:
  11. Here is the list of "Premium " wines available in Luminae currently on the Edge.
  12. Forgot to add, we are in a SS and the bottle of sparkling wine that greeted us in our cabin was some swill with a screw top. I asked our room attendant if we could exchange it for a better one and was told it was the only wine they could give us. We paid over $12,000 and they give us a $6 bottle of sparkling wine. Celebrity has sunk to a new low!!!
  13. We are on the Edge and last night in Luminae all we could get for PDK were very low end wines. The only Pino available was Castle Rock which we can buy for $10 a bottle. In the retreat lounge they have a list of wines, mostly low-end ones, that they can offer. Nothing not on the list can be served to us. Also in lounge no premium bottled water or Vitamin waters are available. This will be it for us with Celebrity.
  14. It's one thing when you book a cruise and know upfront that your cabin category will not have a butler. But when you book a cabin category that at the time was advertised as having a butler and that butler is then taken away with ZERO compensation much later, is BIG deal and why so many here are upset. Its not about whether you need a butler, its about you paid for one that is no longer available. My last car we bought came with a package that included front seat warmers, something we do not really need in South Texas, but if it had been delivered without those seats I paid for, I would by just as upset.
  15. Our Jan 25th cruise on the Edge had 35 unbooked suites 3 weeks ago, after the many move up offers were accepted the suites are now all sold out. Some in our roll calls got move up bids from standard IV verandah cabins to Sky Suites for less than $1200pp, that is one hell of a deal compared to what we paid for our SS,.

  17. We booked the RC cruise because we wanted to try something different too and then decided it wasn't going to be better. At the time not having a butler on RC was a big deal that now is no longer with a SS.,
  18. After our two Retreat cruises this month on the Edge, which when we booked, were 40% less than now, we are stepping away from Celebrity and taking our business and $$ elsewhere. When I can book a real premium cruise line like Oceania for the same or less per day than a Sky Suite, I am jumping ship. 🚢
  19. No way anyone would pay the sky high Sky Suite fares today without the lounge access. We booked an RCL cruise last year and when we found out their "Junior" suites had no lounge and very limited suite dining at Sky Suites prices, we canceled and booked on the Equinox for the same itinerary.
  20. No, only the IV ocean View cabins have opening windows, just like most sunrooms.
  21. We board the Edge on the 13th for 22 days from Sydney. After following a couple of CC threads from members on her way from Singapore to Sydney it doesn't sound like much was done on the interior during the dry docking in October. That was mostly a maintenance drydocking that included a full hull cleaning and repainting which had to be done before she could enter Australian and New Zealand waters and ports. The full service bar I was told by the Retreat people on the Apex was NOT installed in the Retreat lounge.
  22. Good thing you aren't running Celebriity what you are suggesting would run off even more loyal customers.
  23. In our 5 previous Retreat cruises we have never been charged for any drinks that may have exceeded the PDP cap or been told by the bartender that any requested drink was not available because it exceeded the cap. A couple of recent examples: Mccallan 12-year-old scotch, available on 2022 Reflection cruise in Retreat Lounge but $18 in other bars, this was when the cap was $15 too. Hennessy VSOP Cognac available in Retreat Loung on Apex in September but was priced over the $17 cap in other bars.
