yes!!! @HelloItsMeB and I stayed down at the Diplomat for a work thing she had (I was the eye candy that hung out in the pool while she worked, and we hit Margaritaville and the boardwalk before we left and it was awesome! I’d love to go back! I lived in Ft. Lauderdale and worked in Miami for five years and just never spent much time in Hollywood for some reason- it’s great!

    Picturing "Eye-Candy" at the pool?!?

They retired Strawberry’s number. Which is actually how I became a Mets fan. My stepfather got me into collecting baseball cards but I didn’t know any of the players yet. You’d keep the cards in a shoe box and carry them to your friends house. Kid across the street. Two years older than me offers me 20 card for 1. I do it…and run back across the street excited to show the stepdad my haul. He asks “who was the one?” I don’t know. Something Strawberry. And I became a Mets fan.

I still got about 3,000+ baseball cards from the 50s-70s. Holding on to them for retirement

The ship was docked at 12:15pm, and they began letting passengers off about a half hour later. We’re going to wait for the rush to subside. Walking out to the back of the ship we can see the Symphony OTS docked across the way…..

Patti looks down at the Havana Area. Looks like some other people aren’t leaving the ship today…..

What a stormy 6 hours that was. Just before I was about to go to bed, I see a tornado warning for our county.  The lone supercell had actually moved from the NW to the SE, which isn’t typical.  Got about 10 miles to my north.  At least 2 confirmed fatalities from that storm.

Then this morning at about 5:00, another round to my south.  We didn’t get a lot of rain, and it wasn’t even severe warned.  However, when the storm collapsed, the winds started howling with reported gusts over 60.  Limbs were crashing into my house.  I picked up the aftermath.  One was even impaled into the ground.  Still a limb on top of my second story and one landed leaning over my neighbor’s fence.  One limb was about 3-4” in diameter.

Yeah those downbursts from collapsed storms can cause a lot of damage. We had about 90 mph winds a few years ago that dumped about half of my 50 foot backyard tree into my pool and backyard. Took about 30 hours of work to clean up-but we had all the firewood we needed for following winter

  5. I'm going to tell you something I've kept to myself for years -- None of you ever knew Sid Gipp.  It was long before your time.  But you know what a tradition he is at Cruise Critic...

(There is gentle, faraway look in his eyes as he recalls the boy's words).  And the last thing he said to me -- "Rock," Sid  said - "sometime, when the team is up against it -- and the breaks are beating the boys -- tell them to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Gipper...

WE'VE GOT TO DO IT FOR SID!!!!

Didn't he go Solo on his last cruise? Or is this a different guy?

Just got done sitting in a traffic jam to beat all traffic jams... An hour to go THREE BLOCKS... The absolute biggest cluster you know what I've ever seen. Back at the hotel finally, and I'm done for the day... I wish I could have been in bed a half hour ago, but it didn't happen. Anyhoo, I'm ready to get my butt into bed and on the ship tomorrow. That's it for me tonight. Shomer shabbos...

Underrated advantage of a cruise vacation-once on board no travel, no parking, no traffic. No re-packing, multiple check-ins/checkouts or bus, uber or taxi-those darn elevators though😉

Yes. While I never thought about them going as far as putting the toilet brush on the counter, this is why my bathroom counter is always clear. My stuff is in the back of the highest shelf in the closet and my toothbrush is my the safe.

I'm bookmarking "toothbrush in safe" for Saint Greg Trivia Game as in:

Where does Saint Greg keep his toothbrush?
