I found the OJ they poured was great, had it from room service and at waves.

i hope you did enjoy the "usury" on board ocenania as well :(
outrageous wine prices , stupid service charges and bitter pre packed orange juice
The wine list we found very reasonable and inexpensive.Santa Margarita $50.00 compared to$70.00 in most NY and Long Island restaurants. We where on this cruise for 18 days.As far as the OJ all you have to do is ask them in waves to squeeze fresh oranges.

What is guarantee only? Sad though. Jan 15 is when the round world journey starts, was interested in a sector- is this the one?

On our first cruise in 2005 they had two male singers who regularly performed in West End musicals. They were excellent! Nice guys too. No stage and or props needed.
On our last three cruises we have not gone to a single show.
I'm pretty sure we had the JAR singers on Marina in 2011 or 2012. They were touted as being wonderful and a great improvement and I thought it was appallingly bad. Embarrassing actually. Our local high school does a much better production as were all our daughter's dance recitals.

There is no Hilton in Papeete only on Moorea which is a ferry ride to get to from Papeete.
On our up coming crusie on Marina next week we are staying at the IC for 2 nights before cruise. We stayed there 20 yrs ago when it first opened love there lagoone pool.I think the IC is about a 10 min ride from the airport.

We arrived at 10 pm in April and the lines are long. They do move quickly though. The terminal is open air so make sure you are wearing clothes that are light since it is warm.
Did you deplane on the tarmac or was there a walkway too the terminal?
-
We arrive at 10 pm into Ppt.Are there long lines getting through immigration?
-
We always take O's transfers from ship to airport. No hassel they get you on the bus take care of getting your luggage there with you.To us its worth the extra dollars. If you use your own transportation make sure you notify them what time you want to disembark.
We know for sure the bus is always waiting.
-
With the service we used there is an additional charge for luggage. Do you have that added? With the luggage it was about 2800cpf
The IC charge to pick us up is around 3000cpf plus 100cpf per bag.

I read on another thread about XPF versus US dollars for taxi payment in Tahiti. When we arrive we will be going from airport to IC resort Tahiti. Does anyone know approximately how much the taxi fare will be. I want to make sure I bring (have) enough XPF.
thanks in advance
We made arrangements with IC to pick us up,when we arrive at the airport. They charge it to our hotel bill.

There was a promotion for our cruise showing the price lower.O does not provide free air if cruise is less then 30 days out.
-
And those few hundred or so passengers embarking from the 6:am flight get the same extra day bonus.
-
Don't forget those who Oceania is costing additional money. They purchased this cruise and planned their trip with the understanding that they could board by early afternoon thus not incurring costs for extra time in hotels or wherever they end up plus meals that were included and now required to incur double costs for purchasing their own meals while missing out on their already paid for onboard meals.
As you said, this is not a surprise to O and the incoming people are owed compensation for this total screw-up.
I understand O position on not letting 2000 passengers' on board a 1200 passenger ship. What the problem for me is the fact the passengers who will board at 8;30AM getting an extra day on board with breakfast and lunch.
-
All this is on our rollcall.First they said all those who took O air even if they came in 2 or 3 days befoes can board at 8:30.Then they retracted that and went back to everyone boarding at the same 5:PM.Then they retracted that and sent out e mails to all those on O air leaving on the 3rd and arriving into Papeete at 6:AM on the 4th to get guest passes for the day to board at 8:30 am.Dosn't seem fair to the rest of us.
-
Here's the problem for me. We are boarding at 5 pm on February 4,but those passengers who are arriving on Oceania's 6 AM flight on February 4th will be allowed to board at 8:30 AM.
So they are getting an extra day on board.

I was just curious. Knew I would get an answer fast. Thanks.
