  1. Trust me, it's not a Cabaret on the Marina.

    Rick

Yes we realised that when we where invited for lunch on the Marina this May when it was docked in New York Harbor. We roamed around the ship and noticed the theater where the shows take place.

Also the library did not look as inviting as on the R ships.

  2. This comming Feb 2014 will be our first time on the Marina. We have been on 5 R ship cruises. When we went to the shows it was more of an intimate setting.More like the old fashioned cabaret lounge.

  3. We are docking Feb 22 2014 from our Oceania cruise, and departing Feb 23. WE ahve been to Sydney 2 yrs ago for 5 days and loved every minute of it.Did a lot of sightseeing .We are docking into the new White Bay terminal, and the day we dock is the Gay Pride Parade at the Botanical Gardens. I assume the area of the ferry terminal the rocks and Oprea House will be mostly off limits. Any place else we might try for a few hours in Sydney?

P.S We stayed at the Park Hyatt for 4 days it was fantastic and near everything.

  4. Same here. If you hear anything please post it.

Would love to go to Myanmar. Our last Nautica (Capetown-Singapore) cancelled the port. Could also consider the first leg to Capetown.

I think the best way to get to myanmar,is a pre or post tour from Bangkok or Singapore, like they do to Anga Wat. Or just take The Road to Mamdalay from Orient Express

  5. We will be on Marina next feb 2014 Papeete to Sydney. This will be our 6th crusies on O and our first not on an R ship. Looking foward to the larger stateroom.

How was the weather on your cruise? We sailed Tahiti right before the turn of the century 1993 in May with Windstar the weather was great.

  6. Please, can anyone suggest some tour companies that would pick us up at the ship and take us on a 4 or 5 day tour; staying at luxury hotels. Slao, question about public restrooms in India. Are they really holes in the ground that you have to squat over? What the ones in restaurants,

We did a pre cruise tour back in Feb of 2001. It was a Princess cruise Pacific Princess AKA the LOve Boat. Was a crossing from Mombai to Mombasa through the Indean Ocean.

I contacted Isram Tour in New York. We flew to New Dehli stayed the Obario .

The tour company picked us up at the airport drove us to the hotel. Picked us up the next morning took us for a tour of old and New Dehli. The next morning picked us up drove to the train station waited till we got on the train First class tickets. Arrived in Agra had a driver take us to the Tajh Mahal and the red fort and out for lunch. Took us back to the train station ,waited with us till the train arrived put us on board. When we arrived into Mombai they where waiting for us and guided us out of the train station and to the hotel.

We lost a piece of luggage when we arrived into Dehli , but Isram had a man stay at the airport for 2 days and got our luggage back.

Maybe the best tour we ever had. Also when you look to book to got to the Tajh Mahal makle suer u specifie its in Agra. Some travel agents i found out booked clients into the Tajh Mahl Hotel instead of Agra.

  7. My husband and I will be staying in Venice for a few days prior to our ship's departure. We'll be at the Hilton Molino Stucky hotel, which is actually on Giudecca, and would like to know the best way to get from the hotel to the cruise ship, keeping in mind large pieces of luggage.

We are also staying at the Hilton for our cruise on Oceania this July. I contacted the concierge and arranged for the hotel to pick us up at the airport and to also take take us to the cruise terminal. They do all that so you dont have to think about what you have to do.

  8. Too me its not a problem, cause the fees and taxes are the same for that cruise I think, if you take an inside or Penthouse suite.I know they cant be discounted off the fair thats why its a seprate price from the cruise fare.Just pay it and fagetaboutit.

  9. My TA breaksdown the fees for us on her invoice. The taxis and fees are $763.00 pp for the 14 day Med Tapistry on the Insignia July 26th.The fuel Suppliment is $140 .00 pp.Which if we get back will cover 6 or 7 nites of wine bottles for dinner.

  10. Hi ddschur,

Good question. While Tauck offers both land and sea luxury experiences, CC is commited to focus on "cruise only" companies. That said, many Tauck cruise experiences and questions can be found on the "other cruise lines" forum on CC. Check that forum out, and I'll bet you can find some discussion on Tauck cruise tours! (Type Tauck in the search function on upper right)

I took a fantastic tour through Tauck, sailing on Le Ponant, all through the small islands of the med. Shes the sailing yacht that was overtaken by pirates not long ago! :D

  11. I understand that the entry fee for United States citizens is $100.00. Can this fee be paid in US dollars or does it need to be paid in local currency? Also, can the fee be charged with a credit card?

    Keith

We where in Chile last March. It must be paid in U.S. dollars .NO CREDIT CARDS CASH ONLY.Have your money ready when you disembark the plain.
