  1. Thalassotherapy. A mineral rich warm pool with hydrotherapy jets to stimulate and tone tired aching muscles. Excellent for treating cellulite, arthritis and general muscular and joint aches and pains.

We did a spa balcony on the Dream. Loved the spa access. The thalassotherapy pool really did help with my arthritis. Booked a spa cabin on the Vista for Nov not knowing there was no thalassotherapy pool.

  2. We paid for FTTF on our Dream cruise in 2013. We did not receive our luggage early. We did have the proper tags. Maybe FTTF had not been implemented for too long or something? When we got to the port the staff sent us to sit in a certain area. Then another lady came and told us we where not in the right area. After boarding, we were stopped in the hallway by the staff and told we could not go to our cabin. We told them we had purchased FTTF and they did not seem to know what we were talking about. We did not complain to Guest Services. It did not ruin our trip but, we decided we would not purchase it again either. Now with staggered boarding I may have to rethink that. I really like to get on the ship & start my cruise as early as possible. :D

  3. Hold your horses right there! Don't be talking about getting rid of my Chocolate Melting Cake! All that other stuff is small potatoes compared to doing away with the infamous CMC. Them's fightin' words LOL!

 Save the Chocolate Melting Cake! Don't let it become just a Diamond/Platnium benefit, like twice per day cabin cleaning. Crusiers Unite!

LOL. Tongue firmly in cheek :D

  4. When this happened to us the old level showed on the booking (we were not diamond though) and also when we printed out our boarding passes. We had to wait until we were onboard and go to Guest Services to get it corrected. They took our old cards and gave us new ones.

  5. We have cruised both and enjoyed both. Price wise we sail in the fall when the rates are reduced a bit. Would have to say we probably prefer Royal. Reasons being, better entertainment and the wonderful Solarium. We prefer the Carnival for spa use IF it has a thalassotherapy pool. I think you can get a good value on either line though with proper planning. When I check the prices if the ships have the same ports & are the same size the price is often fairly close.

  6. What does this photo tell you???

I am confused. That looks like a hot tub. So there is a hot tub in the spa and a thalassotherapy pool or just a hot tub?

Because if it is just a hot tub, the photo tells me I paid too much for a spa cabin.

  7. When we visited Aruba the first time we took a ship excursion called the Koo Kunuku Aruba Tour which ended up at a beach club which was I believe part of Palm Beach. Anyway, on to my question. On the way back to the port, we traveled down a street which had some hotels on one side and a small but, long beach area across the street. The driver told us what it was but, I cannot remember. It looked nice and not too busy. I remember thinking I would like to spend a day there. Does anyone know what this beach may have been?

  8. I am posting this in the RCCL forum as this is our favourite line. It is not really a cruising question as such but I am interested in your opinions....

We have done a few cruises on RCCL (and one on another line that I will rather stay away from in future) and loved all our cruises.

We have done South Pacific over New Years, Alaska, another South Pacific mid year, and most recently Christmas and New Years cruise to the North Island of NZ and South Pacific.

I did not mind going back to the South Pacific as only one port was the same as where we had been before.

Now that the back story is over, I am looking to book another cruise to New Zealand (all different ports except 1) however my wife is keen on a land holiday somewhere else.

She has said that while each cruise was fantastic, it is the same experience repeated, and she wants to go somewhere different for our next holiday.

I am just curious what the thoughts of fellow cruisers are, especially those that have done many cruises, regarding the same experience over and over again.

Sometimes we have sailed for the ship but, mostly we do try to see at least one new port with each cruise. We still seem to end up in Nassau more than I would like................I get bored easily and enjoy variety. If we are repeating a port we try to do a new excursion. At some point, we intend to cruise Europe to shake things up. Changing lines helped also. We plan on doing NCL in the future.

  9. We are sailing on the 11 day Vista New York to Miami in Nov 2016. I originally booked an interior on the Lido deck but, later due to a price drop booked a Spa interior on deck 12. With a long cruise, time at the spa will be great. We are close to the water works but, I am okay with that. Cabin locations do not bother me with regard to noise. We generally stay out late and I am a heavy sleeper. The only cabin I never want again was the one by the supply closet!

  10. My son works at port everglades and got talking to some RCI crew and bartenders about the new auto pay gratuities. The crew actually do not like this because they say that even the slackers (crew) get tipped. The good ones feel slighted now. Just reporting what was said.

I travel quite a bit, and know when I go into countries that do not tip, there isn't a lot of incentive for great customers service.

I can see that. There really is no incentive to go above and beyond now. Of course many crew are dedicated to bringing quality services and will continue to do so.
