Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We were on this cruise last year and had a great time. I think the top sea day activity was on the last day where they did a cooking demonstration with one of the head chefs and the Restaurant Manager. This also had a tour of one of the galleys afterwards. We learned quite a bit about their operations and they make it fun with the demonstration. Puppies in the Piazza was also a big hit but that usually happens at the Skagway port. We did all the naturalist talks and special guests they brought on board. We also enjoyed all the production shows and guest singers. We also attended alot of the evening "game shows" and had fun with these.
  2. We had a good experience with EZ Air for our cruise last year. The flights were much cheaper than booking directly. We lucked out and never had any schedule changes before the trip. We would use them again if the price was right.
  3. We love going to Buc-ee's, always a nice long break during our trips. Looking forward to seeing your take on the famous cruise.
  4. I am generally lurking in the shadows, but hope that you have a great cruise and can find some relaxation in it.
  5. We stayed in the Auberge Vancouver Hotel before and after our cruise this summer. It is a block away from Canada Place and easy to get to. We found their rates much lower than nearby hotels when we booked them. We had a great stay and would use them again in the future.
  6. We were on a ship last Christmas and had a great time. On Christmas Eve, they had a special "Holiday Story Time" where I think they read/acted some of the Grinch story and handed out jingle bells and santa hats. They also had a Christmas Eve religious service that night before the dining rooms opened and then later they had a Christmas Carol sing a long on the Lido deck. There was a Christmas Sweater contest at one point before Christmas as well. On Christmas day we were in port but alot of the music you could hear was Christmas carols. There was a special menu for dinner that night but they still had the "normal" items as well.
  7. We were on the Sunrise this past Christmas and had a blast. On Christmas Eve, they had a special story time with the Grinch making an appearance. There was also a Christmas Eve religious service. They gave out Christmas hats and jingle bells that you could hear people all over the ship shaking them. That night, there was a Christmas carol sing-a-long on the Lido deck. We also saw lots of people wandering around in matching pajamas at night as well. Christmas Day we were in port but it seemed more relaxed than normal. We gave some of the staff Christmas cards with some candy and money in them. The dinner that night had some special items that were added to the menu along with the normal offerings.
