  1. Yes, that is exactly what happened.
  2. Another question for an evisa when arriving at Sihanoukville Cruise Port. The application states that it is not for people arriving at cruise ports. Just airports. So, what to do?
  3. We decided, after much research and other considerations, to just do an Oceania excursion. Prices are comparable to what is on TripAdvisor and at least it starts in Muara. See you onboard.
  4. Thank you for your quick response. Yes, definitely planning at least 3 nights in BCN and about the same for MAD. I like planning so it should be fun. This will be our fourth time in Lisbon and to be honest we've seen/done it all. So, just a quick overnight there. We were also in Porto. Wonderful city. Bill
  5. Hello, we are boarding the Oceania Vista in Lisbon in September 2024. I was thinking of flying to Barcelona to spend a few days there (the ship does stop in Barcelona but only for a day and probably at a different location), taking a train to Madrid for about two days, and then taking another train or plane to Lisbon. I was wondering if this is a good plan. I really do not want to drive across Spain and Portugal. The trains seem reasonably priced and frequent. Nothing has been arranged, except the cruise. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks, Bill
  6. Thank you for your ongoing review. I have always found the coffee, except from Barista's, to be downright awful. It is like drinking yesterdays dish water.
  7. One more question: Were you required to obtain a visa to enter Brunei?
  8. Did some googling yesterday and found that the Tours by Locals person is unavailable the day we are in Muara. Probably will be with others from our cruise, Oceania Riviera. I also found that other tours are either pricey and/or will not do pick ups at the Muara cruise port. So, we decided to do a ship's tour instead. Not ideal but you do what you have to do.
  9. Had my TA call O and it was changed correctly. We changed to the mangrove cruise also. Thanks, Bill
  10. Yeah, you are probably right. I will suck it up and do so.
  11. Hello, I am attempting to cancel a booked tour and book a different tour from the same port. I cannot see where I can do that on the booking (Manage My Booking). The tour I want to rebook to is available. I really don't want to deal with an Oceania rep and my travel agent leaves something to be desired. (I should find someone else.) Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. BTW, the port of call is Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, on Jan. 31, 2024. Thank you, Bill
  12. Thanks for your report on Harbour Lights. We may consider it. Question about taxi fares: was the $5pp in USD or Barbadian dollars? Thanks, Bill
  13. Thank you for your report on Muara. We will be there in January 2024 and were looking for something to do there. There is a Tours by Locals person but is, IMO, very expensive. But I can see why if only three cruise ships call there each year. We will get off the ship and see what is going on. At least then we can also say we "ticked the ‘travelled to Brunei’ box ". LOL
  14. The baked potato is not what I would call a steakhouse baked potato. It is definitely not a shareable potato. Best if each of you get your own. Order a double serving of asparagus if you like asparagus. This is a seasonal vegetable so don't be disappointed if it not the best you ever had. You can order multiple sides if you wish. The filet is the best cut, IMO. Enjoy.
  15. Thanks for your response. I plan on reserving a car about one month out. That should be enough time to get an automatic, which is what I want. Debating insurance but will probably get it. Bill
  16. Thinking of renting from Jay's next month. Was there any particular paperwork needed, other than a valid drivers license, for example, insurance card, etc.?
  17. Does anyone know if Windstar provides distilled water for CPAP machines? Both my DW and I use the machines. Thanks.
  18. Thanks for your input. We are on a two-week sailing in the Caribbean, Barbados to Aruba. So, the weather will be, hopefully, a bit warmer. Bill
  19. Just hope it is not TOO crowded. We had no problems booking excursions with Windstar yesterday. It seemed that everything, tour wise, is available. Reading other reviews of the Pride on its' Iceland cruises, the ship was at capacity and the main restaurant was full very night and other venues were also.
  20. Is there any way to determine how many will be on the ship, e.g., Star Pride, before sailing? We are on the Pride from Nov. 18-Dec. 5, 2023. Thanks.
  21. Understood and yes, we (4 of us) are on this sailing from Barbados and we will continue on to Aruba. Hope we catch up at one of bars.
  22. Hamrag, are you referring to a White Night on Azamara or on the Star Pride? Asking because we are also on a November cruise on the Pride. Wouldn't want to attend in a different color! Bill
  23. But what is the best way to get there from the cruise port?
  24. We have a day in Barbados on Windstar turn around day. Is Bathsheba worth the effort to get there? If so, what is the best way to get there, taxi or car rental? Once there, what is there to do, walk the beach, eat lunch, etc.? Best place to have lunch is...? Any suggestions are appreciated. Bill
