  1. I have to agree with you about having the corresponding points.

With all respect, I think it's crazy for someone to be made a Zenith JUST because they belonged to the original "Founders" club. Someone posted on this thread that they thought they should be elevated to Zenith because they paid $15 each to become founders in 1994, and have taken a total of four Celebrity cruises to date.

Why on earth would they think that would entitle them to the same benefits as someone who had 3000 points. The $15, or $25 or $35 means absolutely nothing in the face of the cost that is incurred to reach even Elite Plus, with 750 points.

I took it as wishful thinking. :)

  2. Though you can check out your cruising history, which you probably have already done, you must be able to prove you were on a particular ship at a particular time. My wife succeeded in having points credited because she had documents from an ancient cruise. Celebrity didn't know who they were dealing with.:D

LOL!!! Now I just have to try and remember all the cruises AND figure out out what ones are missing.......grrrrrrrr!

  3. Is there a way to check that all cruises and points have been added to your account? Over the years we believe quite a few are missing. Started cruising with Celebrity in 1990 1 to 2 cruises every year. My points don't seem to add up and we never really bothered to look into it after we reached top tier Elite.

  4. Us to. We also joined when you had to pay and credits were 1 point per cruise. They didn't have Concierge Class cabins and even longer cruises were 1 point.

I think we should also automatically become Zenith.

ITA!!! We have been cruising Celebrity since 1990. Elite use to mean something back in the day. They should also want to keep the orignal Elite's happy, too.

  5. It's been quite a few years since we have cruised Celebrity, but looking forward to being with them again. A few questions:

    1. Do they still have waiters at the buffet restaurant to carry your tray for you and find you a table, as they used to?
    2. At lunch, do they still have fresh made to order pasta stations in the buffet?
    3. Are there waiters readily (I know....define readily ;)) available to provide wine/drinks (we have drink package)?
    4. How is the food quality overall at the buffet restaurant for lunch and breakfast?
    5. in recent years, we have done quite a few Princess cruises and while we enjoy Princess, we find the buffet very poorly designed. Will we find Celebrity more similar to RCCL in that it has a better flow to the food station layout?

They now have a small bar in the buffet area for drinks and soda

  6. I FULLY understand that but do you really think the X has the manpower to go back and look at each cruise for each and every Captain's Club member to calculate cruise days? If that were the case then RCI would have done it that way as the same information is posted there also. It would take them years to do it this way. Much easier for them to just take total points and multiply by a certain number which is what RCI did.

Ummmm...we have been waiting what seems like years. :)

  7. We just returned from a 15 day TA on the Reflection and we noticed that the 12th floor was taller than others. We missed the cabin crawl did anyone else notice this? Our Butler said it was just the Aqua Class Suites but I think it it was the whole floor?

Wonder why? You would think they would drop the ceiling and pad it some since the pool/gym is above.

Wait. Did you notice this after the bar crawl? :)

  8. Just call them.

Something that commonly happens, not only with Celebrity but with other cruise lines too, is that the overcharge turns out to be a minibar charge.

That is one reason why many of us who have been burned that way in the past ask to have our minibars emptied and the entire contents removed on the first day of the cruise.

If that is what caused the overcharge and you call them, they apologize and take it right off, immediately issuing you a credit for the amount.

On my last cruise (Equinox) they said they could NOT remove the items from the room...it all sat on top of the mini cooler / counter.

  9. What a fun group to have on your cruise!!!

I forgot...on our last cruise there was a motorcycle group. It was really neat to look out on the balcony and see all of the bikes lined up at each port. What a way to see the islands! We were not aware there was a group on the ship till the first port of call.

  10. I think it is called progress by Celebrity.

But in service they do look to deliver, but sadly it is now based on pot-luck in the MDR as to where you sit, as to who you get. It never used to be like that.

But in saying that Celebrity are still better that most, but it is becoming harder to justify the price differential, with a new price hike due next year.

ITA! I remember one table we moved to we nicknamed the "misfit table"...all four couples had asked to be moved from therir original table. We had the best time!!!

Our very first Celebrity cruise in 1990 we asked to be moved and ended up with four couples that we later met up with in New York city for a weekend. It was such a fun group and what got us hooked on cruises. Sadly, my husband is ready to jump ship. The excitement of meeting new friends is really gone. Do you think this is due to the pre paid tips? They use to bend over backwards to make your cruise enjoyable.

  11. Yes - And it is just a small portion of.

I think I may just bring my bowl of fruit down from the room, grab a seat at the spa and sell it for half the price :D

I remember when the spa cafe first started...they had the best black bean tostados, split pea souffle and the best low fat deserts. Those were the days...

  12. You aren't on the November 30th voyage are you? If so, there is a group of about 1000 people sailing. Word is that most requested late dining and that filled up. I'm not a part of the group, but those on our roll call from the group are super nice and informative...

WOW!!! Is there a way to find out if there is a large group on your cruise? I did one cruise with a large group on board and many places were closed due to private parties. VERY frustrating to miss out on o much on the ship.
