When you attend the events, do they scan your medallion to check you in, or just visually look at it?

The only female assistant CD in Dec/Jan on our cruise was Angela from Syria.

Just got off the CP and had the Island dining room. It’s a great location because it’s at the bottom of the Piazza and everything happening there, including the bars and entertainment.

We just got off the Caribbean Princess to Panama Canal. We briefly used the medallion app texting which worked - I found it notified me, but I didn’t always notice it. The biggest issue is messaging is buried under a menu so it’s not easy to get to. If you’re use to fast texting, this can be frustrating. It also can be inconsistent. We have iPhones and iMessage and that gave us a few headaches until we figured it out. We had to create a text group using our Apple ID email addresses or messages wouldn’t go through to everyone (say when trying to use an associated phone number).

How exciting! We will be getting on the day you are disembarking... Have a great trip! If you are able to, please do share the MDR themes for the evening (if not the menus). I'm trying to figure out which one we want to skip for Specialty Dining. Been on many Princess Cruises, but never to SD.

For anyone who recently went on the 10 day Panama, I do have a few questions if you have the time to answer them. Any evening dinners you recommend skipping for specialty dining? Do you have any excursion/port recommendations? In particular, we are thinking of jumping on the bus to 7 mile beach in Grand Caymen but it looks like there are some parts of the beach that aren’t pleasant. We have the plus drink package. Any experience using that onboard? Thanks in advance!!

How exciting! We are going in a couple of weeks and just planned this excursion. How long did you have to wait in Colon for the ship to arrive?
