  1. Cheerleaders are entitled to their opinions as much as the constant complainers. An intelligent person reads all and then makes up their own minds.

The cruising experience, (preferences, budgets, etc.), varies. So, it is important to give everyone a voice

That's my point. The cheerleaders have no more right to ask the complainers to stop complaining than the complainers have to ask the cheerleaders to stop cheering....

  2. I sent an email a few days ago. Got a call today from Katherine in the Executive office.

She said they are now reading all emails and the complaints and concerns are being sent to Andy Stuart and Frank DelRio.

I asked about the coincidence of the new room service fee coinciding with the no take out and she basically restated "it's for safety and sanitation".

I reiterated I have a special needs son and sometimes its faster or easier to grab something from the buffet and feed him in the peace and quiet of our cabin while we shower after a long day in port.

She said that exceptions can be made on the ship on a case by case basis- but who wants to deal with trying to get that sorted out during my vacation?

She didn't really have anything new or different than their standard canned response. I also said most are up in arms about the lack of communication from NCL and the lack of updates on the website and by the phone reps. She agreed they are working on that.

I told her I'll see how things shake out on my Bermuda cruise and decide then if I will continue with NCL after that or find a company that values me as more than a school child.

Del Rio said Norwegian will reinvest $20 million of that money in sales and marketing efforts to drive demand and in improvements to the product on Norwegian Cruise Line ships.

“We do think that the Norwegian brand could improve from where it is today,” he said.

Even without those improvements, he said advance reservations for Norwegian ships are robust, with the booked load factor for 2016 roughly double what it was for 2015 at the same time last year.

“The necessary condition in my view of being able to raise prices and per diems, and therefore yields, is load factor,” Del Rio said. “When you’re as well booked into the future as we are at this point, that bodes very well for constant increases in pricing.”

In a note to investors, Morningstar analyst Jaime Katz noted the strong advance bookings, both for existing Norwegian capacity and for new ships coming to the Norwegian, Oceania and Regent brands.

“All this commentary indicates that close-in inventory should be better positioned this year versus the prior year, alleviating the need to add additional value to the cruising proposition closer in,” she wrote. “Since the Prestige acquisition, we think Norwegian is uniquely positioned to capitalize on the premium market segment, which tends to be more receptive to price increases that are tied to better product, and an improved value proposition.”

  4. I don't know the answer to your question but doesn't it seem crazy that they would close for construction during high season? Too bad, we really enjoyed having tea there!

My parents are staying there on a land vaca right now and when they called to check in they say there is a lot of construction going on. :(

  5. My kids are 9 & 7 so doesn't affect me. NCL has been saying they are going to make an under 3 nursery all the way back to April 2012 when Splash Academy changed the minimum age to 3. I posted about it in my review after talking to the mgr of kids programming on board the Jewel.

Given the way things are going with NCL and the fact that it's been 3 years since they initally spoke of this I wouldn't hold my breath....
