  1. well some of cannot afford suites, My brother pays for my cruises. I also travel solo. So no way I will do that. Doing a inside will allow me to take another cruise. I also want to be out of the room and met people. Yes I would love to have a outside room with a balconey but not in this life time. I also love to do a world cruise never goinig to happen . So I am happy with 7-14 day. $2-5000 carbin (solo rates) I am happy I am very easy to please. Having someone come clean my room, feed me and do dishes Not to mention seeing new places and meeting great people

  2. Hi

I have ben going to conventions since 1997. (all hotels) Sometimes 3 or 4 a year. Many many times people came home with colds. We knew it would happen that a bunch of us would come down with colds. We had a name for it "con crud". Not sure if it was airplane but since many of us came for all directions it could not be that. So it had to be the hotel. I always blame the pillows. Think about it. If you have a cold or something else that pillow you slept on is full of your germs. They do not wash those pillows after each use. I will not give up traveling even due to my health issues could cause problems for me. So I will travel and cruise. I could catch a cold from churxch, shopping, friends, kids

  4. Package tape.. they have it front desk but they got upset when I went back for more. They were upset I had mailed a package home. I sailed Hal Seattle and back. They were upset wanting to know who gave me the tape from package I sent from Juneau. I had another package ready but girl at desk wanted a custom agent to go with me to post office. I just said forget it and did not mail anything else home. No one can tell me why I have to talked to lots of people about it. I never set foot in Canada the ship did not either

  5. Hi I been on a few cruises. My first cruise Veendam in 1976. They let you have the menu's. I have these in my photo album. I really love them. They are dated. I hope they are still doing this. I am not sure why I don't have them for other cruises I have taken. I was at late seating but if someone (asked)was at first they were put away or given to you the next night.

  6. Hi

Found out we sailed to Southampton then to Cork Ireland. Still trying to find out how much it cost and if there is a passenger list. I did find a lot of information on this ship

On way home we sailed on the Dorset. We were very disappointed as the Dorset was not as grand as the Mauretania. I cannot find any information on this ship.

  7. Wow I was a little girl with my two brothers. We sailed New York to Ireland. My brother said it was a beautiful ship. it was The Mauritania (Curard) He also said it was the better of the ships that are called Mauritnia.

we spent abour 5 weeks in Ireland visiting my Mom's and Dad's family. I think we were only kids on board. We knew the ship by heart before we got off.

When we sailed home forget the name of ship. My other brother will remember It was Prince ?

    this was in 50's

I think it took 7 days

  8. Hi

I have been going to conventions and tours for last 20 plus years. Some of the times I have been sick during the convetion and mostly after the convetion. Lots of people have cot the con crud. I think a lot of it is becuase we touring and not doing out regular meals is one reason. talking and enjoying people in a close quarters is another reason. But I always wondered about the pillows, and blankets in the room. We all know they do not wassh them after every cruise. If you have a cold on say cruise one your germs are every where in that cabin. On every knob, TV clicker, phone. Cruise two goes out and I bet you some one in that cabin will have your cold within a week and it will go on and on. I think Pillows can pass on con crud more that anythink.

but close contact at bars and such. You not at home. Crusing is great I will not let that stop me for cruing. I also feel bad If I happen to be on a plane and going home with a cold
