  1. I'm seeing this Q&A on the Day 1 schedule of recent Eclipse sailings (not sure if it's only the Eclipse, but I didn't see it on the current Solstice or Equinox sailing). Is this a useful time to ask about the wines available by the glass in the classic and premium packages? Any chance they would offer samples? Otherwise, we have first-night dinner scheduled in Tuscan Grill. Would the serving staff there provide samples so we can figure out which glasses we like and don't like? I'd rather not order full glasses and send them back to try something else (even though they are included with the package).
  2. My understanding is that corkage fees are waved for both classic and premium packages. No?
  3. Thanks! We're all family, so no privacy concerns. I can already book excursions and dining for everyone, so I guess I'm all ready to take care of check-in when the time comes.
  4. It sounds like you can check in multiple linked cabins simultaneously? My regular cruise line (Disney) requires me to check in one cabin at a time whether linked or not.
  5. Based on the May 21 sailing, I think the current shows for Alaska sailings are: - Unique 3 (I thought I saw this on the app for Day 1, but I don't see it now) - Topper - Rock City - Amade I don't see anything scheduled in the Eclipse Theater on Day 7 sailing back to Vancouver (is that normal?). Should I assume these will be the same for our Aug 13 sailing? For a first-timer, are any of these must-see? Any not worth our time?
  6. I appreciate this point of reference. And with my first X cruise coming up in august, I have questions... When you say "X's pasta" and "X's steak," are you referring to MDR, specialty, Blu, Luminae, or everything as a whole? Would you choose different comparisons for different levels of dining on the ships, or on different ships? Also, would choose similar comparisons for the corresponding dining levels on other cruise lines in your signature, like Carnival, NCL, (and Crystal)? I'm a Platinum Disney cruiser, and I would rank their MDRs about the same tier as Olive Garden or Outback, with an occasional surprise hit. But their premium dining is consistently well above those.
  7. I'm wondering if the recent transpacific series of trips for the Eclipse might have led to a temporary inconsistency in food supplies that could stabilize again now that she will sail weekly from Vancouver for the summer. I'll be on the 8/13 Alaska sailing, so that's my hope.
  8. I'm curious if you have also cruised Royal Caribbean in the past year, if you have first-hand experience to compare the products as they currently are? It seems to me the cruise industry in general is having trouble maintaining previous quality levels, and are cutting services across the board.
  9. I hope that's not true. My understanding is that a 4-device plan allows use on 4 devices simultaneously.
  10. I assume that doesn't work if I booked with All Included.
  11. Should I be wary of canceling an excursion in order to rebook for a discount, if it is currently sold out?
  12. I haven't sailed the Eclipse yet, but I know I saw a video tour of her from Nov 2022 and the top deck was clearly open, not closed off for suites.
  13. Is this soot issue true of all the ships? Just certain class ships?
  14. I didn't know about that feature until you posted it here. But I just looked at a cruise for next year and when booking for 2, not even the lookup will show me rooms that are available for 3.
  15. Is this more accurate? Whenever you get any alcoholic drink not included in the classic package you will only be charged the difference + service charge. For any non-alcoholic drink not included in the package, you will be charged the full price of the drink plus service charge. Caveat: while zero-proof cocktails are specifically not included in the classic package, you can get them for free anyway. I added this caveat because someone posted their experience in another thread. Can others confirm? And sorry if it feels I'm being pedantic, but every dollar of difference for every individual drink we're talking about here goes into my calculation for choosing to upgrade to premium or not. Interesting tip on the spiked coffee though!
  16. I understand that. But it was frustrating when I originally booked and couldn't find connecting SV cabins for 2 parties of 2. I booked the cabins apart and only later discovered the issue when everything else had booked up.
  17. Why is it, if I tell the website I'm booking for 2 people, it won't offer me any rooms that can accommodate 3-4 people? Even though those rooms show as available if I book for 3. I can't imagine every one of those rooms is reserved for parties of 3 or more.
  18. That's good to hear about the coffee cocktails. But it's not really anything, right? Premium water? Redbull? Smoothies and zero cocktails? I think those are all priced under the threshold.
  19. I have to ask where this text came from. It has several typos and doesn't make sense as it is worded. Each guest of drinking age can bring one bottle... per stateroom... if there's a guest of drinking age in the stateroom.
  20. I'm not an experienced Celebrity cruiser, but I've been reading these threads for tips. What I understand from others' experiences is that the All Included classic drinks package includes specialty coffees, but not those with alcohol in them. What's not clear to me is this... if the full price of the drink is equal to or less than the $10 classic package threshold, what would they charge you? I have seen what appears to be a recent al Bacio menu online that shows drinks with Kahlua, rum, or Jameson priced at $9.
  21. I'll be on the Eclipse this Aug (my first time on Celebrity). I'm curious what specifically felt old. Are things wearing out? Breaking? Or is it more of a style that looks dated? I understand the TV looking old, but is there more to it? From my "research," the thing I think I'll have the biggest issue with is what appears to be a lack of electrical outlets and charging points in the room, specifically next to the bed.
  22. In general, are you limited to one entree in Murano?
  23. Here's another list of what's included that does specify specialty coffees and other zero beverages. https://www.celebritycruises.com/things-to-do-onboard/onboard-packages/beverage-packages/compare-packages
  24. I go to Manage Reservation, click on Plan my Cruise, then click on my initials at the top right and select Order History. There I can see a $0 entry for Basic internet for 1 device, and another for an untitled item with a photo of some mojitos (that's the classic drink package). That's the only place I see the All Included items online. And these didn't show up immediately after I booked. I think it took 5-7 days or so before they showed up.
  25. I have a SV booked on the Eclipse for Aug. It'll be my first time on Celebrity, but I've been doing a lot of research. As far as I can tell for the Solstice-class, all veranda cabins (standard, premium, sunset, concierge) have the same basic balcony size. But the sunset verandas do have a few that are larger, and a few that are smaller. You can kind of see that in the photo in this thread... https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2748758-aft-balcony-on-reflection/
