  1. Great to hear positive reviews of the Eclipse. I'll be sailing in Aug. Would you mind adding your thoughts to this other thread I started about the Eclipse in Alaska?
  2. Can I ask for clarification... were pizza and ribs actually the only things they offered at dinner? Or were those the only things you thought were any good? Or did you mean something else? I saw a youtube video of the Silhoute dinner buffet from March 2023, and it looked like they had a full international station (it was Italian night), a pho station, a kids station, plus pasta, breads, fruits, salads, and desserts, in addition to pizza and pasta.
  3. I don't cruise for burgers, no. I also don't cruise for mashed potatoes, stir fry, pizza, scrambled eggs, toast, and jam. But on a 7-night sailing, I won't be surprised if I ingest some of them along the way. And I do welcome a simple burger and fries once in a while for lunch, even on a cruise. It's still part of the whole experience, and I like the options to be edible... if not tasty. I understand the general opinion on these boards of the burgers on X, which is why I responded to the previous poster's positive review of "casual food" for clarification.
  4. What do you include in the Casual Food category? I haven't experienced any of the lines you are rating, but have read thread after thread here that seem to have a consensus that X burgers (in particular) are consistently inferior to the others. I know my teens would love to hear about any good casual food recommendations on X.
  5. My wife and I are sailing together with a classic package. Our 21-year old daughter (who doesn't drink) will be sailing in a separate room with a zero proof package. We can each bring can bring 2 bottles of wine on board. I understand that if she brings her bottle to the dining room, they would charge her a corkage fee, right? But would anyone know if I brought her bottle? Is there any way they are keeping track of who already brought their bottle limit to the different dining rooms?
  6. Thanks! I just read the review. Very thorough and helpful. I'll likely check out all the shows. Though I did just look up a few youtube clips from Amade. Maybe I'll skip that one.
  7. They do. That's the case for any alcoholic beverage over $10. You pay the price difference plus gratuity on that difference.
  8. Thanks for the responses! Looking forward to your food review. We are a three-generation group, ages 16 to 81. Would you recommend any of the theater production shows?
  9. I'll be on my first Celebrity cruise on the Eclipse to Alaska in Aug 2023. I'm looking for any reviews and information. Specifically: - scanned daily cruise planners - was there are concierge embarkation lunch? - how loud was the music in the lounges and theater - food and service reviews - ship and cabin condition reviews - recommended experiences - anything else you wish you knew before you cruised.
  10. Can you confirm that the smoothies were included in the Premium package? Or maybe they aren't actually included in any package?
  11. Now I'm curious... if you took 9 Carnival cruises, and found them all to be too rowdy, what kept you coming back? Was there something great about them? I've never done Carnival.
  12. I haven't sailed Celebrity yet... waiting for Aug on the Eclipse... but I've been looking hard. And the only IPA I've found listed on any menu on any ship was Lagunitas. I think it was generally $11-12, so not quite included in Classic.
  13. This sounds like every cruise line out there... including Celebrity... doesn't it?
  14. I'm new to Celebrity, but can't understand why there's not an intuitive place on the website/app to see everything included that I booked for my cruise. Why does it offer to sell me a classic drink package when I already have the All Included fare? Why do I have to sift through all the items in my order history to find that there is some nondescript item there... with no discernible description... that looks like a mojito mixing class... and figure out that that's my classic drink package?
  15. Having lived quite a few years in Europe, I agree. I can't imagine they sail Europe without a proper fizzy water option on the classic package. It may actually be easier to source fizzy than still in some European ports.
  16. Have you been on multiple Carnival sailings? Were they all like this, or some less rowdy?
  17. Understood. But it looks to me like it is explicitly excluded from the Classic only. That's the package the disclaimer is under. The list of non-alcoholic drinks that are included on Premium and Zero-proof are pretty much identical. Neither states that smoothies are included, unless you consider them frozen cocktails.
  18. That's from Celebrity: https://www.celebritycruises.com/faqs/all-included
  19. Here's what the details say on the package I reserved for my kids... "Includes all non-alcoholic drinks onboard." Not including smoothies won't be a deal-breaker, but I'd hope that they would.
  20. Very interesting. Is this supposedly for all the ships? We already had basic booked for an Aug Eclipse sailing (including 4 devices for one person... to share), so it sounds like we will get premium performance for the cheaper price? Good for us, I guess.
  21. Perhaps. But checking the same drink at the Club on the current Edge sailing says JD Neat costs $10, and so it should be included in the classic package.
  22. I found this online (https://profcruise.com/celebrity-bar-menus-2023/#passport) from a March 2023 sailing on the Solstice. It's not definitive for a drink with only JD, but probably not far off. For what it's worth, browsing through all the cocktail menus on that website would suggest that many premium package liquor cocktails can be found for $11-12. NOTE: sailings from UK, Australia, NZ will have higher prices and higher drink package thresholds due to the included tax.
  23. Thanks for the input everyone. I suppose the four people in my party who are 21+ can each order a different glass, and we can sample on our own.
  24. Thanks for the tip about busy servers during first dinner. Is Tuscan Grill busier on day one than other days? Asking at the bars works too. Would that extend to Cellar Masters? I would think they have the biggest selection available... or would that be a misconception?
  25. Have you experienced this Q&A? The schedule says it is held at "Cellar Masters," where I assume the wine selection is largest (maybe a misconception?). Do you think that person, the "Cellar Master," offers samples from the wine packages during the Q&A?
