Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. With only a few days to go until our cruise on Arvia, I'm still waiting to poentionally book into the Beach House before we go via My Cuise thingy. It has said 'coming soon' for days. Is anyone else getting this, or is it a book when you are on board via the ships app etc. Also any recommendations for the food would be appreciated Thanks Graham F
  2. Hi, I've just watched a you tube video of the Epicurean restaurant on the Arvia. It was mentioned that this is a great place for afternoon tea. Anyone done it already or similar on Iona. Is it worth booking and if so what's the extra charge. Thankyou in anticipation. G.
  3. Thankyou.. We've downloaded some Netflix films etc onto the wife's ipad. We have an headphone socket for it tfat takes 2 sets of headphones so that's why we are hoping to sit together, if not hey ho. Lol.
  4. Just a question. We fly to Barbados on Saturday on a Tui Dreamliner. The question is, what's included please, meals, drinks, films, headphones etc. Not pre booked any seats so still hoping to sit together, anyone ever been split from partner on arrival at check in? Thanks people.
  5. My wife has read, that on P and O Cruises, you can take on board with you, if you want that is, up to 1 ltr of spirits per person. Presumably bought at the airport duty free, for your own personally consumption in your cabin. Also, that during the cruise, you can also bring on your own soft drinks, pops etc, purchased in your destination ports, again for personal consumption in your cabin. Is this true or are they taken from you at embarkation, either initially or on return from the visited location, and returned to you upon leaving to return home.? Thank you in anticipation Graham.
  6. Does anyone know if the Sauna and steam rooms on Arvia are open to all at all times, with no charge. Love a steam room between beach day and evening meal.. Regards Graham
  7. Thanks for your realistic reply Greg, we've done a cruise through Xmas before but on a fixed sitting. I'm aware that Arvia is all freedom dining so yes, most people will want to eat around the 7.pm to 8pm time when I would expect queues. Never used the on board app before so that should be 'interesting' lol. Thanks again and let's hope its a great cruise, problems sorted or not. Regards Graham.
  8. Interesting comments about the wi fi, but hopefully more comments on the queues, the on board app, booking shows and speciality dining rooms etc please. Thanks.
  9. OK people, so we are due to sail on Arvia on 21st January from Barbados for 2 weeks around the Caribbean. I know she has only just been launched and commenced her first cruise to the Mes before going Trans Atlantic on 6th Jan 2023. I have seen some reviews from those on board at present, which isn't good reading ( long queues for basically everything, food cold, can't book for shows or speciality meals etc and the on board app doesn't work. So my question is, to reassure all of us who have booked going forward, if you are currently on her, just how bad is it or is it just teething problems which hopefully will be sorted by my cruise. Please be honest. I don't expect perfection at all and can go with the flow most of the time. Regards Graham F.
  10. We are going on the Arvia 14 night Cruise around the Caribbean on 21st January. I think this will be about her 3rd cruise. Anyway, we booked an inside Guaranteed cabin. Obviously not yet allocated, but when might we find out where we might be and is there any chances of us not being at the front of the ship. Regards GF.
