Unfortunately that is not a hotel we recommend, particularly for ditching your car while on a cruise. It's a sketchy area and there have been issues in the past. Newark is a highly industrialized urban area and you must be selective about where to leave your car. Perhaps greatam will post about her drivers' experiences in that particular area. Let me see if I can find some posts.

 

In all fairness they have apparently redone the rooms, but who really wants to stay at a property in Newark where you feel uncomfortable just stepping outside the hotel door.

Not driving I"m flying. Amazing that they have a AAA 3 diamond rating and good reviews on Trip advisor.

That's in the right ballpark.

Found out today the hotel in Newark. Best Western Plus Airport West has a shuttle that will take us to the pier and give us voucher for taxi back to the airport after the cruise for $60 for 2 total. I think that is the way I'm going. Thanks for your help. Pat

On my recent cruise, Navigator of the Sea, the diamond members had a good laugh about the silly gift that is delivered to our state room as a gift.

 

 

The concensus was please do not give it to us we simply all placed it in the bin!!!

 

Bring back the hats, bags, etc or please do not waste your money on that basket.

 

RCCL your intentions are honourable by offering a gift, please do not be offended but i simply cannot use it.

Some people aren't happy unless they can b...h. I like the gift same as Gina. I like to snack on it on the trip home.

The whole web site is a complete mess. I'm surprised they let things get so out of control. It's complex, full of bugs, and just creates barriers to their customers.

I agree. the ite is a mess and you end up calling and put on hold to talk to some one who may or maynot know the answer

We are getting excited for our upcoming Jewel cruise stopping in Costa Maya & Cozumel. We are looking at excursions for Costa Maya and are considering the "Costa Maya Village, Ruins and Beach Buffet". Does anyone have any experience with this and can provide any feedback? It would be much appreciated! :)

 

 

I'm posting this on the RC board instead of the port board because I'm interested in info specific to this RC excursion. Yes, I know you can book tours privately and that may be cheaper. However, that is not the best option for us so I'm only interested in RC excursions for this stop...

Just in Costa Maya in Nov and did a private tour with The Native Choice. It was the best and great price saw the ruins and a great lunch fixed by local women. Our guide was the owner and his Dad dicovered some of the ruins when he was a boy. Check out his site. Lots of good tours.
