  1. If you're embarking in San Juan on Royal Caribbean, the ship doesn't leave from Old San Juan. It's a different pier.

We've stayed at Embassy Suites, Condado Hilton and Caribe Hilton. All are very nice and within walking distance of dining and shopping options. Sheraton in Old San Juan would be a nice location for a night too.

We stayed at Plaza De Arma may not be spelled right. Very inexpensive and great location. We had a big balcony overlooking the plaza which was all lite up for christmas.

Staying in Old San Juan is great but you will have to take a taxi to the pier. Not to expensive if I can remember corrrectly.

  3. Thank you for all your great pictures and your descriptions make me feel like I am already there with you. Sailing Navigator in 20 days and living through you. I appreciate you taking the time.

    Rhonda

Hi Rhonda, did a cruise with you when we went to Martinique.Caught up with Zay from Alaska that was on the same cruise with use and organized the slot pull. He is going on Serenade next Nov and I'll be on that one and get to see him again. This time he is bringing his parents and kids. Am also going on a cruise in 30 days from Tampa on Brilliance.Love Navigator. Have a great time.Pat

  4. Wow, you can visit the LA and book another cruise for this price, is that a misprint?

    Prices starting from:

    *1,705.75 USD (Adult)

    *1,705.75 USD (Child)

    *0.00 USD (Infant)

If that's the price It better have caviar champagne and my own private maid butler and massage girl. also pedicure manicure and hair braided. I wouldn't even paid that if all was included to lye on a beach in Cozumel....REALLY

  5. Saw a boat full of people refugees that our ship sent a boat out to them. they refused help probably knowing that if we took them onboard the coast guard would take them back to their country. pilot boats, coast guard boats, police boats with guns mounted. snow covered mountains in alaska. runners are the most fun. pulling into port inthe morning is the best and sunsets from the balcony are so beautiful.

  6. You should be able to make dinner reservations under my cruise planner. You can also make reservations each morning by phone for that night or you can just show up anytime.

If you book in My cruise planner and don't get the time you want. then call each day to change it.also ask to be in the same area if possible so you will have the same waiter

  7. Yikes - a lot of water problems! Did there appear to be a specific area on the ship or deck number which was most affected?

Glad you had fun despite the floods...

I believe it was deck 3 or 4 and deck 9 in one of the suites.

  8. Sorry you feel the way you do but we have cruised on many Dam ships and just returned from the 9 day reposition from Ft Lauderdale to Quebec City. As an "almost 5 Star Mariner" we enjoyed the Veendam, its crew, the CD was fantastic, and saw the Captain many times including our Mariner luncheon and the private party in the Crow's Nest. This trip was post Dry Dock and the ship, in our opinion, was in great shape.

We realize that the level of service has diminished over the past years but still acceptable to our liking, you make the best of what you receive and enjoy the trip. I'm sure other cruise lines have done the same.

Hope you give HAL another try but if not that's okay also.

    Good Luck

Also just off this cruise had dinner with a couple who had pipe break in their bathroom. also another couple at our meet and mingle also had a pipe break. we had toilet, shower problemsand safe problems. also heard there were elevator problems. alot for a ship right out of dry dock. All this didn't effect our cruise. had a great time.

  9. I booked through an on-line travel agency and it may be that their itinerary for this cruise may not have been up to date, because when I went to the HAL itinerary for the cruise it showed Gloucester as a tendered port.

As I have said. Gloucester is a tender port. This time of year is very foggy. Pray we can get in. I am a native of New England and know about sea fog. All we can do is hope for the best

  10. And so do you go to the front desk and ask for the hotel director? (can you tell that this was my first cruise? :p)

Been on 25 cruises mostly Royal Caribbean and never had a problem. In fact my luggage that they took went to the naughty room and all they could find was my electric curlers. No booze. I got to keep them. going on Holland in may hope I can get them on.
