2. Oh dear, from the whole review, this is what stood out for me.

Eating five desserts per "night", just how big is this woman ?

Did she have additional desserts for Lunch ?, Danish for Breakfast ? Afternoon Tea ?

Goodness, what a statement to make about one of your friends. She ate five desserts a night, that's a minimum of 35 a week excluding other meals !!

Ha Ha, actually, not that large at all. She runs 10 miles every day. It wasn't every night that she would order 5 desserts, maybe just one particular night when she couldn't decide. I'm sure she did not finish them all.

Never had a problem ordering extra anything. With a smile

  3. My suggestion to OP is do Oasis or Allure and then compare. I have been on more then 30 cruises. NCL HAL COSTA and Lots of RCC. Still prefer RCC and as you see I'll be on Serenade in Nov. Love the Radiance class ships. Have always been made to feel special as everyone else has said. Sorry you didn't feel that way. But apparently RCC gave you something for your complaint.

  4. Are you saying because the folks didn't understand their coverage the cruise line should reimburse their family because of the tragic circumstances?

No he was saying that if they are within the cruise lines cancelation policy the have a chance to get some of their money back just like any of us who cancel within the time frame would. OP is within 46 to 70 days I believe

  5.
As someone who works in the industry I can clarify the credit card insurance issue. It is actually quite cut and dry and unfortunately it's a mistake that people unwittingly often make. It is very very important to read the terms of your credit card insurance. All will have a stipulation of a minimum amount of your trip that must be charged to the card to get the policy into an 'in-force' position. My Amex, for instance, says you must have charged a minimum of 75% of the cost of the trip to that one card in order for the insurance to be in force. My husband's, otoh, requires 100% payment. Both have very comprehensive coverage if the terms are met.

Unfortunately, there is no "going after" the insurance company in this case as the coverage was simply not in force. It was just a very common mistake that these poor souls made in thinking they were covered and not understanding the terms. My hope for all is that in the end that cancellation schedule is correct and therefore most (if not all) will be refunded. Sadly this money is quite likely the least of the young boys' problems to come. My heart goes out to all.

On another note, this thread is one more reminder that the Internet's most common function is to provide forum for certain people with little sense and even less manners to spew whatever comes to mind with zero consideration as to the callousness of their words.
Thank you for your post and AMEN.
  6. I must be the minority on here, I just booked the Oasis today using the BOGO 1/2 off sale including BOGO 1/2 off drink package. With the BOGO 1/2 off sale my cruise cost $225 more than NCL Escape would have cost. With the size of the ship and the having the multiple shows, I feel that I got as good of a deal as I would have if I had booked NCL. I look at Oasis as being a port within itself, With that being said, the $225 is just my shore excursion cost. I guess it really comes down to when and what you book and what you are comparing it to.

It truely is the luck of the draw or when you are sailing. I find Nov, Dec and 1st part of Jan the best. But at present and having a hard time finding something in these months other then what I have booked and I booked it last June. The furthest out I have ever booked. I'm now looking at NCL, HAL and don't say it ...don't say it Carneval. I told myself I would never do Carnavel.

  7. I just went through pictures from some of our cruises. I can see what I think might be a curtain on Majesty. I can't tell for sure. None of my other pictures have a view of the cabin that would show, or not show, a curtain. I'll be on Jewel in three days, I'll check when I get on. My curiosity has been piqued.

I have actually have been thinking about this curtain in the last few days. My DD will going with us on this cruise with us and she is sharing a cabin with our neighbor's son. They are both in their early 20s. They have been friends since they were born. They don't mind sharing a cabin, it gets them on a cruise after all. But I'm sure they will want some privacy when changing clothes. I thought if they closed the curtain, they could get dressed on either side of it. If the curtain does not exist, one of them will probably have to change in the bathroom.

Open the closet doors and bathroom door across from closet and it makes a great changing room

  8. I sailed on Monarch almost 3 yrs ago with my granddaughter. And we would go to the D+ lounge that was part of the VL since there was no CL and she would get a Shirley Temple and I would get wine and we would sit and look out at the water for a short time before dinner. No problems. She was 10 yr old and very well behaved. No one said a thing. Most would come up to her and ask how she was enjoying her cruise. Every night the same waiter saw her coming and brought her her drink. She thought that was great that he remembered her. In a few years my other granddaughter will be 10 yrs old and looking forward to her first cruise and I plan the same with her. If there is not enought room in the lounge. Then we would get our drinks and go somewhere else. Now that they have vouchers, if someone objected her being in the lounge then I'd go to the bar to get drinks and find another place to sit.

  9. Yes! It was hysterically funny too! There were two, shall we say "fluffy" men running at rapier like speed to board the Navigator! They were running and both ships were screaming and cheering while these poor guys were huffing and hoofing it back. The minute they were onboard, Navigator pulled the gangway!

Love watching runners from my balcony.:D

  10. Good afternoon from the beautiful Freedom of the Seas! It has been a gorgeous day weather wise - it started out a bit cool early this morning, but turned into brilliant sunshine as the day went on.

Just so we are clear, my DH does not attend the M&M, therefore he is sitting at our deck chairs the whole time. The hogs were out bright and early, towels and sunglasses abounding on all sorts of chairs  I'm not sure what really can be done about chair hogs, other than actually confronting them, or removing their stuff if you know for sure they have been gone longer than 30 minutes. There are signs all over the place stating items will be removed from chairs after 30 minutes.

Today the Captain's Corner was scheduled for the same time as the M&M - I went to the M&M and won a very cool prize for my desk at work

This is the first time I won anything at a M&M! I also won 30 minutes of free internet, but I already bought the unlimited package, so.....

I won this the same time I won the 64meg stick and I do use this

  11. We will be going on the North bound Alaska voyage 8/21/15 on the Radiance of the Seas, what are the option onboard for lunch?

When we did Jewel of the Seas in December the only thing open during lunch was Windjammer. The one sea day there were more options though.

When I was on Radiance in Alaska I only ate 2 times in the WJ. Park Cafe has a great selection of salad, soup and sandwiches. Love the dog house too.
