  1. Me too...(not quite as high as $40). But I did buy an additional 100 for single digits. I have cruised enough to recover most, if not all, of my investments.
  2. Sorry, no filets, lobster, or other main meats from specialty dining rooms. Usually, it is anything from the MDR/buffet breakfast menu (hence Cowboy steak or breakfast steak). I tried....since they were making lobster ravioli in Sabatini's....thought they could sneak a nibble or two. No chance.
  3. The best time for drop off and pick up is between disembarkation and embarkation. I am usually dropped off around 10 ish. Traffic is not so crazy. It's a little more difficult to pick up at berth 93. They do have a handicap section right near the exit and general pick up is a little further down.
  4. Yes, he is from India, but has called Poland his home for 30 years. He likes to announce that in his culinary demonstrations. He's so funny. Yes, I sat in the overflow area the entire night during my last cruise. So entertaining to watch everyone coming through the doors or being "guided" to the other other. Have seen the area shrink and grow. Had the best service in that area too. It's dark when I eat, so sitting by a window is not important. I've had the round table in the very far window corner too. By far, my favorite table.
  5. Thanks for the update. Neville Saldana (from Poland). Who was your waiter? Looking forward to being on the Caribbean Princess, again.
  6. Thanks @Ken the cruiser for starting this thread. Looking forward to your posts (and meeting you).
  7. Is Nicholas still the Assistant Manager (Head Waiter) in Reserve Dining? Did you see Amador, waiter? OOPS...meant for @abbydancer Quoted wrong post.
  8. it should have been refunded to you onboard folio and then maybe send a check. Hope you have a copy of your final account.
  9. @jwattle I prefer the poached eggs with roasted potatoes in a decorative glass. The hollandaise sauce is off to the side. Add a rash of bacon....yum. Served every day. Off the menu: omelette that includes everything but the kitchen sink with pico de gallo on the side. My request for a crab/avocado omelette hasn't been requested in a long time. I guess I've been told "no" too often. Corned beef hash from the buffet. Cowboy steak from the MDR. Slices of watermelon only or orange wedges.
  10. What time is your excursions? If you are not there to supervise the move or not doing it yourself, it is best to pack up everything and have it ready in your room for the crew to move it to you new cabin. Remember....you need to be out of your old cabin by 8 and won't be in your new cabin until after 12. The only time I did a b2b with a cabin change, I was able to move all of my things from one deck to the other before 10 AM (before I was required to do intransit walk through terminal). It worked out really well that my new cabin was cleaned and ready for me to move in early.
  11. Let us all know what you decide. There are many home schooled children who "may" be on the ship.
  12. I just checked summer Alaska 2024 and could not find one single voyage that was with this promotion. Was I surprised? No.
  13. No one has yet mentioned the hula and ukulele classes. The enrichment talks. Is your teenager into learning about new cultures? There are a lot of sea days, but the Grand has a covered pool. I love the Grand (500 passengers smaller than the Ruby). I wish Princess would assign their cultural ambassadors years in advance, as many would like to be able to choose between ELUA and the 2 other teams (I can never remember their names). I know you mentioned French Fries, but the islands have so many different food options to try.
  14. If you are going to request dry cereal, be sure to write in milk (skim, whole). Same for coffee and cream/sugar.
  15. My cabin mate made me throw out our arrangement...I didn't have a say. But plastic is even worse. It is a dust catcher and who knows what else.
  16. This is from my "Encounter Summary"/medical history printout. This was NOT on my medical center invoice.
  17. I was on the Caribbean Princess in July/August. This is what I found out...and may not be fleet wide (like a lot of Princess). I personally spoke to Darla (Customer Service Officer). Princess is "thinking" of replacing "suite flowers" with plastic. I voiced my objections and told her all the reasons why that would be so wrong. She had mentioned (but not sure if this is something "for real") that orchid plants could not remain in the room with new guests. I hadn't thought that. There were no flowers in my suite upon arrival. Several days later, they started to appear (not all cabins got them on the same day). It was a very nice floral bouquet. No flowers in the bathroom. I enjoyed them more than the orchid plant.
  18. If you booked through Princess and made Final Payment, I don't think you can transfer your reservation to YOUR planner. Princess does not offer traditional dining (as what it was in the past), but you can begin the process of selecting your (early) dining times. Good Luck. Welcome to Princess. There's a "steep" learning curve with lots of twists and turns, but you will be just fine.
  19. Yes, there are storage for wine/champagne purchased from the ship. I know the Crown Grill has their own "cellar". My wait team had to go there to retrieve my bottle for the MDR. Then they kept it in the MDR. But wouldn't champagne go flat?
  20. It really doesn't matter if I am reimbursed for 36 hours of "drinks"....since I couldn't have any alcohol the rest of the trip. Room Service provided me with all the drinks (water/soda) that I wanted. I was very well taken care of while in isolation.
  21. Unfortunately, Canada Place is not the most user friendly terminal. For those not familiar with it, it is an up and down parade. If the coach had your luggage, you should have been able to skip the bottom level. I read somewhere that when Canada Place was built, it only had 2 small ships at a time. Were there more than the Crown in Town? Have a fabulous short cruise in your sanctuary.
  22. It is really important to get all the documentation available. I received an invoice for the medical center visit. I also paid $28 for my health record (as advised by others). This is my case (which is still processing). I opened a claim with AON (Platinum PVP). I submitted all my paper work to AON AND Medicare. Still waiting for Medicare to deny my claim (out of US). Then it has to go to my secondary to be paid or denied. Once I get those EOB (Explanation of Benefits) I need to forward them to AON to be processed. This will take care of the medical portion. On a separate case, AON said I should be receiving a check for the days in isolation. Don't know whey this is taking so long since they only had to do a verification with Princess. I'm in no hurry. I have been told I will get x amount of dollars for my 2 night stay in isolation. It will include: percentage of cruise fare minus insurance and any excursions missed. Not sure about Beverage packages since I could have still ordered them, but was not allowed to drink alcohol with meds. One of my documents states the time in and out of isolation. I think this is important to have. I think it was on the medical records that you have to pay for. Be sure to get a folio printout on the last night. Good Luck. It's a lot of work and patience. I have time for both.
  23. Did you get the cabin you placed a big for? What was the final bid cost? I am confused. Thanks for the update.
  24. I paid $5 for my Paxlovid. So glad I had it with me when I caught covid on the ship. Ship doctor was glad I had it too.
  25. Exactly what Princess wanted to happen. Offer a "free" service, no one bites (sorry for the pun), Princess saves money. Replace Alfredos/Gigis with: Gym Classes, Specialty Desserts (2x/day maybe), Casual Dining, photos, etc. SMH...waiting for Princess to raise the cost of the Beverage Packages to reflect EXCELLENT new offerings. (aka Sheldon Cooper)
