  1. I am glad @NavyVeteran answered your question. That is not how I interpreted your post. I am on a low sodium diet and the Assistant Manager (in the MDR) checks with me every night. Services differ per individual. One time, I had this terrific person who would suggest and then "create" meals for me. Another time, one followed me to the Crown Grill with the next night's menu. On my last cruise, Nicholas was willing to do all my meals after embarkation lunch (Specialty dining that night). I declined. That is the only meal I "cheat" on. Gravies are usually (different) and offered on the side. Cheeses are left off (not fun). Soups are bland Some things can't be made low sodium. Sometimes meals taste salty to me.
  2. I just did this today on my personalizer. Sign in. Manage my booking. Guest Check-in. Dietary Restrictions.
  3. Bidding is a risk you will have to be comfortable with. Most minis are in good locations (between passenger decks). I don't think the Enchanted has minis forward or aft. Once you place a bid AND Princess accepts it, you can not reject. You can only ask for a reassigned cabin....IF....there are any available in your bidding category. You would need to contact Princess or your TA if you are working with one.
  4. I, too, am saddened by the losses in Lahaina. But feel the opposite about "a tree". It is not just a tree. It is the hope and future of Lahaina. Regrowth, glimmers of hope, mana. https://www.staradvertiser.com/2023/09/18/breaking-news/lahainas-150-year-old-banyan-tree-has-sprouted-green-leaves/ The tree is showing signs of life, just as the residents are beginning to return to the fire zone.
  5. PrePandemic, the Caribbean Princess went into dry dock in Oregon for some much needed work (propulsion being one). Then she sat for several years...as did many other ships. I was just on her. There were still some issues, but nothing to do with the overall ship. Cabin specific: some ac (down the hall) my cooler box (aka refrigerator) never got cold, bathroom door was very hard to manage (hinges), etc. Furnitures and bedding was fine. No distinguishing carpet patterns port/starboard.
  6. I, once, had a friend join us for breakfast AFTER my friend had breakfast with significant other, almost every morning. The staff was sure to place me at a larger table to accommodate the addition. No harm since Sabatini's is never at capacity. I love starting my mornings off leisurely. One of the great perks of a suite.
  7. I don't understand your comment. There is an overflow area in Reserve Dining (to the right as you enter on most ships). Setting up a table for 8-10 is no different that a waiter and jr waiter assigned 5 tables of twos. I don't see how that would impact your being on the other side of the dining room. From what I have observed, there are 4 - 5 teams assigned to the Reserved Dining area.
  8. Please let us know what is going on and final solution. I agree, hope it isn't too late, to switch Passenger 2 in one cabin with Passenger 2 (kid) in the other cabin. Then once on board, go to Customer Service Desk and ask for duplicate entries. Are these the same cabin categories? Did you make them no upgrade. Did you link them together?
  9. On a 7 day cruise, you will have 2 production shows. Three if you are lucky (happened on the Emerald). Unfortunately, the older the ship the less spectacular. Princess isn't investing show time money into the Grand Class ships. All new productions go the the Royal Class ships (ref: Entertainment Director).
  10. 19 passengers and one bathroom....That should be a lot of fun.
  11. It is still possible to get a sort of modified "Traditional Dining Reservation" (same table/same time). It just takes a little more effort to make it happen. I've done it twice while in an inside and an ocean view.
  12. We all had Princess Platinum insurance. They were sent a check, less insurance cost. I was able to sail solo without any addition out of pocket expenses. IF..they had cancelled for any reason (other than covered medical), they would have received 100% FCC.
  13. My sisters cancelled their voyage with me in a suite (medical). I sailed solo with insurance supplement and given 3 credits for being in a suite (instead of 2). Yes, solo occupant will get double credit for sailing.
  14. I agree with @NavyVeteran. The issue is not that Grandpa cancels. If it was an ordinary situation. If Grandpa cancelled with insurance, he would get back the fare minus insurance AND passenger two would travel as a solo with insurance/Princess absorbing the supplement. The problem is that the child (don't know the age) may not be able to sail solo. If all has insurance, then something might be able to be worked out. It is a good thing you are planning ahead for a complicated situation. It is out of the passengers' hands. Your TA will have to work this out with Princess. Good luck. Not sure if your TA has enough experience to deal with something so complicated. You should all be covered under the insurance and should all be able to cancel for any reason. Regular PVP will give you back 75% and Platinum PVP will give you back 100%. Don't know if you will get dollars or FCC.
  15. Balcony to Mini-suite to Reserve/Club Class Mini-suite Standard cabin to cabin with a "living/separate sitting room" to Mini with a Special dining room for breakfast, dinner, and sea day lunches. There are a few other smaller perks...but never to be confused with a Full Suite. How many days? Which ship? Which itinerary? Worth it is only for you to decide.
  16. Okay, did not read all 7 previous pages, but got the jest of the title. After several post pandemic cruises and up-and-running app and Medallion, I am okay with both of them. I was in the group that was promised this remarkable new technology, only to find out that the ships that I had booked and expecting...never appeared. The hardware was in place, but cruise cards were handed out. I do like the fact that I do not have to complete information for each cruise. Passport information, credit card, emergency contact, preferences, photos, etc., all carry over to the next. Do I miss the old days, sure. I go way back to the days of "steamer ships". It was a time of romance, civility, formality, and opulence. But life changes and we all move on.
  17. I was on a Carnival ship. My room mate locked the cabin door from the inside to take a nap. She’s hard of hearing. Deaf in one ear. Knocking didn’t work Calling on the phone didn’t work Panicking, I went to the front desk who summoned a supervisor Not always a good idea to lock the door from the inside. Maybe set Do not Disturb?
  18. If you have insurance, Grandpa will get his fare back. New passenger would have to pay full fare (not free). Your TA or Princess will need to sort this out since it involves many complicated factors with the minor. Not only fare returned to Grandpa, but second cabin will now be a solo.
  19. The verdict is still out regarding ordering from the MDR for delivery to the suite....with/without the ridiculous $5 call to room service. All other points are great. A suite is at least twice the size of regular cabin. Only the Royal ships have the Concierge Lounge. Plus you will get a mini-bar and water nightly. Is it worth the extra cost? That can not be answered by anyone else.
  20. Except for disembarkation day (on the Caribbean Princess). One of the few ships that offered suite breakfast in Sabatini's on disembarkation day. The Reserve Dining Room AND breakfast for everyone else was moved to the aft dining room since they used the Reserve Dining Room for disembarkation groups. I think (I am trying to remember), we went to Deck 6 to meet for Princess Transfers. To confirm: Reserve Collection Dining was open for every breakfast/dinner and lunch on sea days.
  21. Please do join our meet and greet. I am so glad you have decided to do a live. As you can tell from my previous journeys, I am not a good "live" person. Looking forward to finally meeting you. So much for a "quiet" Sabatini's breakfast. It is going to be a hoot. The team is so wonderful.
  22. @chengkp75 clearly states…I stand corrected. Hawaii and Alaska voyages are not the same as foreign itineraries (overnight in Cabo). Mahalo
  23. Mini-suites and Reserve Collection Mini-suites are NOT suites. They are larger balcony cabins and will not include the Specialty Mimosa Breakfasts. All meals will be in the Reserve MDR.
