A drink package will get you a small discount on a severely marked up bottle of wine. Your butler can bring you wine by the glass. That said, all rules were made to be broken. I suggest you discu$$ this with your butler if that makes sense.

It does - thank you; last year we had a fantastic waiter in Eden who found a great bottle for us and was kind in his charges 😉

There were 3 production shows in the Main Theater.  They were Bridges, Awaken and Residency.  These featured the singers, dancers, acrobats and the Celebrity Orchestra.  There was a comedian, a tribute singer to Elton John, and a female singing songs from Broadway.  All were very talented.

There was also a couple of theater groups who performed out of Eden in the evening.  These shows were  in the evening with some being late night..

I must say the entertainment was excellent and there was plenty of  live music everywhere on the ship.

    Enjoy!

Thanks so much - this is very helpful

  3. We are getting ready to cruise our second Celebrity cruise, we had a SS last April and are booked in a CS this trip. Seems we will have the Butler back, we did not have one last April (if we did we never saw him/her). Can you tell me what benefits are offered with the Butler; we have cruised Royal Star Class and familiar with a genie, I think this is different.

    Appreciate any advice, thanks

Regatta and all R ships have small cabins.  A suite is about 50% larger.  Suite bathroom is ok.  The veranda cabin bathrooms give new meaning to compact.

Thank you - I’m assuming the bathrooms are similar to older ships

A small PH perk is if both of you also  have Prestige Bev package, then your butler will stock beers in your fridge.  Maybe cabin steward in lower rooms will do that as well, but I don’t know.  The room service from Polo and Toscana can be a big perk for those who like to dine in their room.  We definitely prefer the bigger PH on the larger Oceania ships but found the size was okay (even the shower) on the R class, and I am a big 260 lb guy.

    Great info

    thank you

Under SIMPLY MORE you would get wine, champagne and beer included at lunch and dinner with both room options. No spirits included. For that you would have to upgrade your beverage package to Prestige level.

    Great

    thank you!

Not every night. For example on a 10 night cruise we will get 2 nights at each of the two specialty restaurants for a total of 4.  Usually your butler can get you some also, really depends on how full the ship is and all.  Also, another perk of PH is you can have dinners from specialty restaurants in your room served by your butler.

    Great info - thanks

Well first would be the overall size. PH has butler service, can make reservations for dinner earlier, get more reservations at specialty restaurants and if veranda is not concierge you would get access spa for free with PH.  But based upon comments here probably the biggest advantage for PH would be the larger bathroom and especially the shower, which is a dealbreaker for many.

Thank you - we do like the larger bathrooms - if we wanted to eat in the specialty restaurant every night, could we?

I haven't been on either ship.

The "Crown Loft" doesn't sound like a tiny cabin.  What size it is (and its bathroom)?

We are very unlikely to sail on any of the smaller Oceania ships unless there was some extraordinary itinerary, and that could happen.  However, in that case, we'd only go if we could get a Vista suite.

On Oceania's Riviera, we get a PH, but the PH on the smaller ships is nothing like that.

Even the regular veranda cabins on the smaller ships are nothing like the regular veranda type cabins on the larger O ships.

Just check the space and setup carefully, especially if you haven't cruised in small cabins before!

Thanks for your response, the crown loft is an up/down stairs cabin with 1 1/2 bathrooms - 545 sf and balcony is 115 sf - we love them (going on Symphony in January again).  Sounds like the PH suite is about the size of the jr suite on Royal -

Can you tell me what perks come with the PH - from what I am reading, wine is included (would beer be included) and alcohol is not included. Specialty dining is included

    am i missing anything?

  10. Hi - we are experienced cruisers but this will be our first time on Oceania - doing the Papeete 10 day trip in 2025.  Can someone guide us if the cost is worth the difference in cabins, what are the perks.  We love the retreat on Celebrity and our favorite cabin on Royal is the Crown Loft, just to give you an idea....

How is this ship, any tips appreciated 🙂

The Malicon in PV is very safe. Lots of art works along the beach and resturants and bars, if you keep waking you get into the Romanic Zone which is also nice and more shopping if that is what you are interested in doing. Its kind of a walk for us from the port, we take a taxi both ways.

Thank you - appreciate the info, looks like taxi for us 🙂

Hola . . .      The Hotel Rosita is located on the north end of the Malecon.  It is roughly 3 miles (4.8 km) from the port.  It is walkable, I've done it but I walk 4-6 miles a day.  I would recommend a taxi, uber or, if adventurous, the city bus.

A 10-15 thousand Americans and Canadians believe it is safe enough that they live in Vallarta.  Many more visit and stay weeks or months every year, myself included.

Any advice on things to see or do should be based on what you like to do, the number of people in your group and what hours you will be in port.

    Enjoy!

Thank you - we are going to use this day to explore and walk around, appreciate the info

Perhaps we can help by putting it in terms of miles (we walk from the Romantic Zone to the Port (and back) many days a year).  From the cruise port to the Rosita (the beginning of the Malecon) is just slightly over 3 miles!  From the Rosita to the end of the Malecon (in the Romantic Zone) is slightly over 1 miles.  So, if you have the time and energy to walk 4 miles (plus whatever distance you walk in town) than yes, it is all walkable.  For cruisers, with a limited amount of time in port, most will benefit by either using a local bus (see Ine's post above) a shared taxi, or perhaps an Uber.  Keep in mind that the local buses only cost $10 (Pesos) which is about 60 cents.

Thank you so much - taxi for us it is 🙂  Is there an area that is better than others, where we should ask to be dropped off? Looking for just a casual day and someplace to grab lunch/drinks

Better take a local bus with the sign centro and get off near Hotel Rosita at the beginning of the Malecon. Of course a cab is always good too. Yes it is walkable but only if you are a good walker and be aware of the heat. The walk will be along a  busy road.

Thanks - so a taxi there and walk about, is it easy to get a taxi back to the ship. Do you know if Taxis are regulated, safe to use. Just wondering if someone could pose as a taxi

Not sure why you posted twice...30 minutes apart.

If you look down the board, there are several discussions about going to the Malecon...it is a frequent topic. Its walkable, but a healthy walk. Most people suggest a taxi, or, I believe there is a shuttle bus of some type,

    It is safe.

Human error - it was not showing as posted so I posted and then it was twice - ok maybe not human error but a glitch in the site......sorry

We've stayed at the Doubletree twice in the past 6 months.  My hubby has some mobility issues and has a little difficulty getting into their shuttle so we asked the front desk to book us a taxi for the morning of the cruise, which they did.  Cab was there on time and it's just a short ride to the terminal. If you're there a day early, their shuttle will take you to shopping or restaurants if you want.  A good restaurant is the 22nd St Landing which is walkable if you are able. (a little pricey but good).  There is also a restaurant in the hotel for breakfast and dinner.

Great idea on the taxi  - there will eb six of us so I think we will do that 🙂   Appreciate the tip on restaurant

Prebook your Uber a day or two before.  We did the Navigator in July and stayed at the Doubletree parking our car and taking Uber to the port.  Uber gets really busy when the ships comes in.  We walked right off and found our Uber in a few minutes.  There were people at the curb who told me they had been waiting 20 minutes for their Uber and some had gotten canceled while waiting.  The Doubletree had a shuttle but it's first come first serve and was booked full when we got in the night before.  If you have the internet package on the ship just RSVP on the Uber app while you're returning the day before.  There were also several taxis parked down a little way from where we came out of the terminal.

    Great advice

    thanks
