Like I said in an earlier post of mine, rude maybe not, but selfish most certainly is.
Lets hope I'm not on my next cruise in September with the likes of you
-
I don't want to be rude to anyone, but is it really the standard of 1/2 hour?
Maybe you don't want to be rude! but selfish yes, if you expect your towel to reserve your chair for up 2 hours while you go and do other things and everybody else cant get a chair around the pool.
Sorry to be blunt but that is how I see it
-
I keep reading about "The Hump"
But no idea what it is:confused: (no rude answers please)
I can hear you all laughing:D
Many thanks
-
I want to go back already.
Its going to be a looooooooooooooooooong 3 weeks for us after seeing and reading your excellent reviews:D
Thanks for the time and effort that you have put in
-
Wow!!
very interesting and informative so far, we sail 20th Sep and this has given us a great insight to what awaits us.
Looked at your flickr page and some great shots, I'm going to add you to my contact list so I will hopefully see more shots.
Keep the info coming:) and thanks for taking the time to write

Got the same problem, we are on the Allure in 4 weeks to, but we have, I think :) decided we are not going to do the Florence trip simply cause of time on the coach and overall length of the round trip,
-
Florence would be at mini 2 hr transfer but definitely worth it as it is a beautiful city
Pisa- the leaning tower and miracle field are worth a visit but if you've never been to Florence and not returning any soon then you might want to visit only Florence
Also from La Spezia, it is the perfect port to visit the Cinque Terre - should that be an option for you
Thanks all
the 2 hour journey is a bit of a downer, still undecided
-
Pisa is a nice little town, but other than one small leaning tower it is not worth a visit. Florence on the other hand is the center of the renaissance.
Ha! Thanks, that's thrown a spanner in the works:)
So no how long is the coach transfer to Florence:D
-
Did it earlier this month- around 1 hr depending on traffic
Great, thanks
Was it worth it?
-
You might also try the Italy Ports forum:
Thanks, but cant seem to see anything there
-
As title!
Trying to find out how long the journey is?
Thanks in advance for any help
-
I had the same problem last week, so I gave them a call, but last night I booked 2 excursions and everything went through to payment without any problems
-
Thanks all for the replies
As the general census is that I wont be charged another 18% for every drink, it now seems my drink package has just got better:D
I will be tipping accordingly, but as my wife has not got a drinks package, me think that it might cost me more than mine:eek: :D
-
Sorry if its been asked before but I couldn't find the answer:o
So my question is, I have a drinks package, do I still get charged the 18% gratuities on each drink I get?
Thanks in advance for any help:)
-
All booked via phone and via USA, it was 2.35 am for the poor guy on the other end of the phone, just seems crazy a big company like RC cant get their web site sorted, it must put a lot of folk off with all the hassle involved:(
-
Call.
Found a number and will call in the morning, thanks all
-
i would clean your cache and reboot maybe even try another browser.
Just tried that without any luck:mad::mad:
Anyone got any UK numbers to call as I cant seem to find any
-
The website is a nightmare ..... just give up and call in to customer service! I have to do this every time!
I did think of that but couldn't find a UK phone number, ye and you are right
-
I've tried and treid all evening and can not get RC website to accept payment for drinks package and for Chops grill, it just keeps coming up with card payment error, I have tried with 3 different cards but with the same outcome, don't they want my money:D
I'm in the UK so don't know if that makes any difference, so any pointers would be a great help
-
First off have a great time:)
We sail on the 20th September so will be really interesting to read your review once you get back as we are still unsure what we intend to do:eek:
apart from eat and drink:D
-
Embarking in Barcelona; 11am[ unless you are platinum and above or Suite level]; Then you can board as early as 10am;
Disembark: 0530 is the earliest they'll let you off
Thanks for that, what time will they kick us off back at Barcelona? as we will want to stay on as long as possible, because we will not be able to check into our hotel till the afternoon:eek:
-
We are due to go on The Allure for the Western Med next month and was wondering what times we are allowed onto the ship, it departs Barcelona at 19.00 and arrives back at 05.00, as we are flying from the UK in the morning of departure and staying an extra 2 nights in Barcelona on arrival back! was hoping we wont be kicking our heels all day at the port:D
Thanks in advance for any help
-
The size of Allure has nothing to do with how far it docks. All those ports listed (apart from Naples, where she docks right in the city) are away from the centre of town and require some travelling, whichever ship you are on.
To travel away from the docking area and into the nearest 'town' for each of them is approximately:
Palma - 10-15 minutes by bus into Palma (RC provides a paid shuttle)
Marseille - 20-25 mins by (paid) shuttle into old port
Florence - the dock is La Spezia and it's walking distance into town but almost 2 hours to Florence
Rome - the dock is Civitavecchia - again walking distance to town but around 1.5 hours to Rome
Naples - the ship docks right in the city
Thanks a lot, that's a great help:cool:
-
Which ports do you want to know about?
Oops sorry:eek:
All the ones we are going to
Palma
Marseilles
Florence
Rome
Naples
Its just to give us some idea how long it will take from port to the Town/Cites, I know everything is not central, but we have no idea how far to expect to travel away from the docking area
bring your own towels.
