  1. Thank you. Saw that yesterday in the local news. Already put it in my calendar.
  2. Yeah…the whole Latitudes Concierge perk has always been a bit nebulous. I think if you’re expecting someone who is dedicated to Latitudes members, that’s not the case. But, the Cruise Next desk has been identified as the place to go for concierge type services. That desk is just very limited in what services they can provide to us. Certainly isn’t anywhere near the level of service as the Concierges in the Haven provide.
  3. Cruise Next has always been nice to me and accommodating any time I've asked for their assistance. That said, if there's something I can do easily myself (like walking a few paces to make my own SD reservations), I just do it. Cruise Next/Concierge has resolved some issues a few times (i.e. helping with excursion issues, which are also right next door to the Cruise Next desk) when The lines were way long.
  4. I know I have been sailing on NCL for 10+ years and don't recall any ballroom type dancing. Doesn't mean it never happened. I just wasn't around when it was. That said, I have been known to hit up just about every place on the ships where dancing was happening. Plenty of that. The show BURN THE FLOOR has something that may qualify, but that's the only show I'm aware of. Syd Norman's Prom Night show invites guests to come up to dance at the end of the performance, but that's more my gen's so called dancing (think of those slick moonwalk moves, or throwing your fist up in the air). Come to think of it, I've sailed HAL and Celebrity, and never saw anything like ballroom dancing. Same with Royal. Trying to think of where you might sail that would have something like that. Azamara? Cunard? Not sure!
  5. I was always steered to the Cruise Next desk any time I asked about Latitudes Concierge Services. Given that desk was about 25 feet from the Restaurant booking desk, it’s just as easy for me to do it myself. They will give you Latitudes pins, though.
  6. Have never had an issue with cabin stewards providing ice daily if I requested. Last cruise was this past Fall…no issues. I can see if you want ice and you call room service. Charges would apply.
  7. Just took a gander at some of the weather predictions (difficult given we’re still 2 weeks out from sailing…NOAA, National Weather Service). Looks like it’s going to be highs in the 30ºs-40ºs. Lows will be teens to 20ºs. Precipitation doesn’t look out of the ordinary, but again, we’re two weeks out.
  8. Gary...same here. My TA moved on. Booked through NCL, but they can't honor the AMEX Plat perks. So, had to find another TA who can honor the AMEX Perks. Took me a little while, but found one of the YouTuber Vloggers who also runs a travel business. So far, so good. I had been with my former TA for about a decade. She knew what I liked and took care of everything for me...flights, hotels, fare drops, etc. Was sad to lose her. But, with the travel business being in a state of chaos the last few years, I totally understood why she left the industry. If you find a good one, throw all your business their way.
  9. How can you not love those faces......!!!!!!!
  10. Well….Mr Grumpy…(j/k). I concur with you. I think the true service animals I’ve come across, as well as their owners, to share a needed, tight, and strong bond. I am happy that the service dogs are able to provide for their owners. That said, we’ve all seen it. Someone, somewhere, claiming to have a service animal, where nothing could be further from the truth. They’re either too financially tight to board their animal while they’re gone. Or, think the ship is their home, and no consideration given to the other thousands of guests on board. I love pets. Lord knows we’ve had enough guinea pigs, goldfish, cats, dogs, snakes in this house to start a zoo. Every time we lose a beloved pet, we truly grieve as a part of our family has been lost. But, to those who consider their “support pet” something you treat like a Barbie Doll, you should not be allowed to board. Now look who has me all Grumpy. 😉
  11. Seems a bit early to cancel because of snow. Forecasts show highs in the upper 30ºs now, and mid 40ºs predicted when we sail.
  12. It is. Have done the “behind the scenes” tour several times. They are very proud of their water systems. Probably more sophositicated than anything you’ll find in any local community, and probably better than most bottled waters on the market.
  13. I've never had an issue with a request to have fresh ice in the ice bucket daily. I've just told them the first day of the cruise, and it was always there. Now, if you want ice at night or even late afternoon, after the steward's made up your room, I can see where there would be a charge for room service to bring ice. But, as the Chief said, you can always take your bucket to the Buffet or one of the lounges and get it filled.
  14. I think you can. You just can't use 2 separate devices at the same time. In other words, you would have to log off on your device before another device can use your minutes, and vice versa.
  15. That's great to hear. I know the Alaska coupons caused them some grief, too. I think it's because they represent targeted guests and sailings. So, it's not a blanket offer. Some get it. Some don't. That causes a lot of confusion.
  16. Try a TA. Send them your scanned coupon to see if they can help. Again, there's a code on it they need to enter to get the promo linked to your account.
  17. Scan the coupon and ask for your NCL PCC's email. Attach it to the email so they have a record of it. S/He will take it to their supervisor and input it manually to your account. Had a similar thing happen to me on my Alaska booking. Once they got the coupon, everything was straightened out. These were targeted mailings. Not everyone got them. So, as it was explained to me, once news of these discounts hit the internet (like here on CC), everyone wants them. But, they weren't meant for everyone. That's why you have to send them a scanned image of yours. Once they have the coupon, they have something to use to give the discount. There's a code they need on the mailer. Let us know how it turns out.
  18. Done that bus trip last year. Didn't have an issue, but the ship wasn't full, either. No problem for me. I can do the downtown area pretty quickly because I know where I want to go and what I want to see.
  19. Depends on what you want to do with it. If you're only going to text, stick with the "regular" internet package. But, I usually do a live picture blog (which will show up in this thread, hence the title) and it's imperative to have the Premium Unlimited plan. Logging in and logging out (which is what you have to do on the standard plan) is a pain. Plus, internet speeds are slow enough with the Premium plan. I can't even imagine what they'd be like with the standard plan.
  20. It's about as sweet as putting in one of the STEVIA packets (which is what I like). So, maybe too sweet for you? Again, your username says otherwise.... 😉
