  1. You can try. But, I'm thinking "NO"! They are strict about fruits, cheeses, animal products (which is what that picture is). They'd confiscate it. And, I doubt they'd give it back at the end of the cruise because of spoilage.
  2. Hmmm....I would imagine you would severely limit yourself on where you could go if you insisted on wearing PJs. Probably limited to Mickey Ds, Burger King, KFC or Taco Bell, etc. But, their choice.
  3. Someone posted a pic of that in a thread here. The family looked none too happy about “dressing in PJs”. It looked like it was the Mother’s idea. The rest of the family looked perturbed by it. I’ve never seen. it on any of my cruises. My guess it will fade away as quickly as it started. Personally, I don’t get it. Makes zero sense. It takes as much effort to get dressed as it does to throw on PJs. But, as you say, it’s a “thing”. And, people tend to do the latest “thing”. No one can complain about shorts in the MDR any more if people are traipsing around in PJs. I’m guessing PJs in the MDR would not be allowed…maybe only in the Garden Cafe? Probably would be really silly looking at the pool loungers!
  4. We haven't had a good "how I expect everyone else to dress" debate in a while. Speaking of which, I don't think I've seen anyone in a tux or suit on a cruise in a couple of years.
  5. Thought the same! For a while there, I thought some felt they needed to set the ship ablaze and send it out to sea.
  6. https://www.seatrade-cruise.com/environmental-health/mauritius-clears-ncl-ship-after-no-trace-cholera-found So, 6 people had Norovirus on board.
  7. Zofran, Zpack, antiseptic, bandaids, aspirin, tylenol, aloe, butterfly bandages, cold compresses!
  8. My GF does the same! She’s the one people hit up when they have ailments! She could be her own mini Walgreens! Hope you feel better soon. That looks like the fall was pretty nasty!
  9. Dear Lord, give me the patience to tolerate those who are clueless. Didn’t change anything. If you have a fever you are sick, which is the entire reason medical professionals take your temp and BP when they treat you. If you have a virus or bacterial infection a fever will normally accompany it. And yes, you can have a broken limb and not have a fever, as an example! There are others. Done arguing!
  10. You can provide all the “ifs. ands and buts”. If you have a fever, you’re likely sick. There is no theater involved, not when my GP takes my temp EVERY visit. Hospitals that I get treated in require my temp be taken while in the examining room. Untrue? i know plenty of medical personnel who would disagree with you, including my GF who is an RN! I would be all for cruise lines taking temps again before boarding!
  11. Why is it so difficult to keep asking and getting responses that are wrong when NCL ’s WEB SITE HAS THE OFFICIAL ANSWERS?? Let’s put this to. bed once and for all https://www.ncl.com/ca/en/cruise-faq/what-about-gratuities https://www.ncl.com/ca/en/cruise-faq/what-is-onboard-service-charge
  12. I call it a pre-cruise gratuity...."to insure (future) prompt service". 😉 I find tucking a $1 to $5 bill under the napkin of my first drink usually nets me face recognition and a drink waiting for me as I sit down. So, let's say I'm leaving money for the service person to "recognize" me promptly. That's not a bribe.
  13. OK Personally, I consider a bribe something unseemly. A tip is a reward for good service. But, that's just me.
  14. OK...but now you're talking about all the extras like specialty dining, drink packages, etc. Doing apples to apples (7 nite cruise), and using Royal as a guide since they're probably the closest to NCL, their drink package alone (if you get it when it's on sale) is $780+ for 2. I don't think that even includes tip. That also doesn't include $250 DSC for two. IIRC on my last Royal cruise (couple years ago) I bought a Chops and another specialty restaurant package (similar to NCL's FAS 2 SDPs) for $84 pp. X2, that's $168. This is regardless of the cabin you book (except for STAR Class which is 5 figures and includes specialty dining and drinks). Point being, and I preach this all the time, it's the total out of pocket that's important...not one or the other "package" costs, or DSC, etc.
  15. Holy Moly.....$700 in tips up front? How long are you sailing? A month? In the Haven? I've never paid more than $175 for the DSC/tip, and that's for staying in the Haven. Admittedly, I'll add another couple hundred for additional tips for the Cabin attendant, Butler and Concierge, but that's still nowhere near $700. WOW....you're a really good tipper.
  16. This whole "bribe" thing. A bribe is a form of extortion. That has nothing to do with a tip, which is a reward for a job well done. Some of y'all are really stretching things towards the ridiculous.
  17. While true, some sinus infections are bacterial. Most sinus infections are viral. No matter, the bacteria and viruses that cause sinusitis are contagious!
  18. I know you’re being “tongue in cheek”, but It’s that sort of narcissism that causes issues like this to begin with!
  19. Yes! A fever of any type is indicative of some sort of viral illness!
  20. I actually wouldn't have an issue if NCL insisted on taking passenger temps before boarding, like they did after the restart. Any elevated temps, and you're denied boarding.....PERIOD!
  21. Yeah....s/he is posting it in a bunch of forums. Probably would be easier if s/he just went to the cruise lines' WEB sites and look up their individual policies.
  22. NCL should have kicked those who brought the virus on board off the ship. That would have taken care of this once and for all. And, I consider that to be the responsible thing to do to protect the others on board. Let's role with that!
  23. SMDH. What? This is all turning into, at best, a rumor mongering exercise, at worst, a total indictment when there is zero in the way of facts!!!!!! But, y'all carry on. I'm sure this will get even more "out there" with some of these comments. Going to get some popcorn and watch (read)!
  24. I believe even less of what's posted in this thread. 😉
  25. Personally, I'd be very irritated at the person who lied on their health questionnaire and spread Noro on the ship. OF course, who knows who that was. But, these procedures and there for a reason.
