  1. My niece went on a cruise that visited Amber Cove and contracted dengue fever from a mosquito bite. They went on the waterfall excursion and she was bitten twice. She got very sick with high fever, rash, swelling of her face and stomach issues. She did not use any type of bug repellent. She had a great time on the trip and actually didn't have any symptoms until about 5 days later which is typical for this. Make sure to use bug repellent if going here.

  2. Thank you so much for this review and all the others! You're an amazing story teller and photographer. I love how you're giving Sakari the opportunity to experience such awesome adventures. She obviously has an exceptional gift for being adventurous as well as being a talented artist.

We were on the 6 day cruise right before yours and had an amazing time. We also went with Grand Turk Divers on the 2 snorkel stop. The guys name was KK, and I'm pretty sure that was the guy you went with looking at your pictures. He was was on time and waiting for us! We loved the first stop at the wall, but the other wasn't that great. After seeing your pictures, I wish we would of taken the excursion that included Gibb's Cay, that's ok though, next time. We had a great time, went back to the ship for a wonderful lunch at Blue Iguana and then spent the afternoon at the beach. Can't wait to hear about your next adventure!

  3. There is live music in the casino until 11:45 every night, so you will likely be able to hear it.

The pool that used to be for adults is on lido aft. The conquest will be getting a serenity area later this year.

No free drinks at bingo! If you earn enough points in the casino you get a drinks on us card. You can also purchase the Cheers package which is $50 plus gratuities. This will allow you up to 15 drinks per day. There are daily drink specials, but it's only $1 off.

Some of the best food we had was at Blue Iguana, seaday brunch and the sushi place (for a fee). We went to see Flick and Epic Rock and they were great shows! Have a wonderful cruise!!!

  4. I'm looking into going to Las Rosas Resort on our August sailing. Not sure if they offer day passes or not.

Please share any information about Las Rosas if you end up going. We stayed there about 10 years ago and it was awesome. The food and service were excellent! We will be in Ensenada in October and would love to go there for the day.

  5. I've been getting the free cruise offers from the casino for about a year and my husband received his first free offers recently. There are many to choose from, although I don't see where it says 100.

Due to lack of vacation and other trips planned, we haven't been able to take advantage of any longer cruises. We've used one so far and have 3 booked.

We won and lost a lot in the casino. We of course lost more, so we actually stopped going on our last cruise, so this will probably be the end of free cruises for us.

  6. We have 3 cruises booked right now through this offer and have already taken one free. Due to lack of vacation time and other plans, they're short cruises from LA, with the exception of a 6 day from Miami, which I'm so excited about!

I started getting the offers last year and my husband just received his recently. We have lost and won a boat load of money! Lost more than we won! We made the decision on our last "free" cruise that we aren't going to the casino. So I'm sure that will be the end of our free cruises!

  7. We totally enjoyed our day there! It's a beautiful lush island with a very nice beach.

It wasn't crowded at all. The only people that were there were from the ship, so of course no vendors!

The food was really outstanding and the drink service on the beach was really good also. I remember the paella was delish!!!

You can enjoy the water activities like stand up paddling boarding, canoes, rafts, etc, or just relax.

The staff puts on a show on the 45 minute or so boat ride there and back that was really entertaining. They also serve drinks on the boat ride.

    Enjoy your cruise!

  8. Yes, it is a Carnival excursion. Here's is the description from the website:

Discover the secluded tropical paradise of Las Caletas, only accessible by sea.

You’ll take a boat ride to this lovely beach hideaway. Explore the surrounding tropical vegetation, relax in a hammock on the golden beach, or discover the wonders of the bay while kayaking or snorkeling.

Your day includes a buffet lunch, all inclusive beverages, guided snorkeling and kayaking tours, parrot encounters, nature walks and yoga. Also, younger explorers will enjoy the Kid’s Adventure Park which features hanging bridges, zip lines, a climbing net, a donkey ride and monkey encounters.

If you wish to indulge in a therapeutic massage or facial, these services are available at the hilltop spa center for an additional cost.

Famed film director John Huston lived here for many years, now you too can experience this exclusive beach hideaway.
