USA dollars work just about everywhere in the Caribbean.
But, take a good amount of small bills, because many times you will get change in their currency .

Congrats! You win the prize for the most incredible post EVER on CC.
You find blood spatter on a wall, then a bio hazard bag full of bloody contents under the bed.
Curious minds want to know. Did the previous occupants bring their own bio hazard bag with them?
Or did the crew clean up the bloody mess, and just leave the bloody bag under the bed?
Where is Colombo when we need him?

Simple thing to do is just take plenty of cash.

If you encounter any problem contact your Butler.
We pulled into Bermuda and I ran out of cigarettes.
Of course, ship stores closed, so I contacted my Butler, and he was able to make a delivery.
Also, we requested a breakfast delivery every morning at 8:00 of fruit and coffee at the beginning of the cruise.
And I always bring a small cooler that gets filled with ice each day. Love grabbing beers regularly and putting them on ice. -
And least accurate of the bunch. EM
Thanx.
Please tell me which is the most accurate, and your basis for the legitimacy.

I am not sure who started the Captain on the gangway upon exiting but it is a great way to end a cruise. Captain Alex also did it last month on the Millennium.
We had Captain Alex on the Summit. Very personable, and we had the pleasure of spending time with him a couple of times.
Fun guy, to say the least.

Having cruised many times with many cruise lines, I have found it standard that all muster stations are pretty bad.

..... whether or not to buy binoculars .....
I always take binoculars. Lots to see out there.

Suggestion. Your post title should be related to the subject of your post and not your name.
DON
FYI, when you fail to put anything in the subject line, it automatically defaults to your user name.

I would have probably sat down in the open chair and told him that I'm sure we will have an enjoyable dinner together. Being a woman, I doubt he would have done anything other than get up.
That is exactly what I would have done.

Am on the Summit in a sky suite at the end of January. Was wondering if it has a combination bath/shower and if so is it hard to get in and out.
Sky suite that we had has bathtub / shower. I had no problems getting in and out. Pretty much the same as the one we have at home.

First, I am not a "foodie".
Having done many cruises with 6 different lines, I have found the food to be almost the same among all of them. Sure, there are differences, but, they offer so much that you will find certain venues that will be more than adequate.
FWIW, I would suggest that you look at Celebrity, Princess, or Royal Caribbean.

100% agree...we never bring any bills (on a cruise) larger that $10.00.
I bring a lot of ones, fives, and tens. Comes in handy for tipping and paying taxis, porters, room service, steward, and those in ports.
-
We never travel with only $200....if you NEED cash, it's good to have it! We generally bring $1500 for a week long trip.
I could not imagine going on a cruise, out of the country with only $200. Personally, I would not leave the house with less than $200 in cash.

What was the best part of having a suite?
Michael's club. Got to spend some time with Captain Alex there. Upon disembarkation, we were first off and escorted, which was great.
We also got to do the bridge tour, which was a lot of fun. Only problem I had was Captain Alex wouldn't let me blow the horn.

The Allure is one of the most magnificent creations of mankind. Just an incredible ship. It has so much to offer, but 7 days is not enough to do everything. My suggestion is to begin your research by checking out the deck plans and the different venues so you are somewhat familiar with the ship. Determine what you would like to do on the ship beforehand.
Having been on many cruises, with anywhere from just the 2 of us to over 20, I do my research and do what I want to do. I am not joined at the hip for anything, with one exception, I will see you at dinner. If I want to book an excursion that appeals to me, I book it, and I tell others what I am doing, and if they want to join, fine.
Join your roll call. Others on your cruise will be able to share their excitement as well as what their plans are. You will get great insights and ideas.
Check out the port of call boards to see what others have recommended. When we did Cozumel, we booked the Private Driver excursion, and basically, you get picked up at the port, and can tell your driver what you want to do. We opted to go over to the "wild side" for a tour, hit about 4 different restaurants / bars and spent time on a private beach.
Dining. For dinner, do not be bashful. If you see two or three appetizers that appeal to you, order all two or three. Two entrees? Go ahead, order two.
For your ports, be sure to have a lot of single and five dollar bills for purchases and tipping. You do not want to buy something that costs $5 and get back $15 in pesos. And tipping works wonders. You will be amazed at what a couple of bucks can do to get upgrades, service, etc.
Get everyone together prior to sailing, and go over the itinerary., and discuss what is of interest, and plan accordingly. Someone might want to just go to a beach, others might want to go sightseeing. Planning for your cruise is half the fun.
Now relax. The only thing to be concerned about is your passport and money. If you have them and get to the ship, you are all set. Oh, yeah, getting to the ship. We always arrive at our embarkation port at least one day prior to sailing.
And, any questions, just ask here.

In June we booked our cruise. Total cost came to about $6,000.
I always look for price drops. As of now, it would cost $7,600.

For there to be “...ABSOLUTELY NO EFFECT WHATSOEVER...” the in cabin thermostat would have to be set precisely to the outside temperature;
My understanding of AC systems is that if you have the thermostat set to 70 degrees, and the outside temperature is less than 70 degrees, the AC system will remain OFF.
-
When its 40 outside, what do you think keeps the inside of the ship at a higher more comfortable temperature?
Hank
So, if I leave the balcony door open when the outside temperature is 40 degrees, it will have no effect on the AC system?
How about if it is 50 degrees? or 60 degrees? or 65 degrees?
My point is that sometimes having the balcony door open HAS ABSOLUTELY NO EFFECT WHATSOEVER ON THE AC SYSTEM.

You can do research before hand.
Especially on your ship's layout. Get familiar with the layout of the ship, find out what is most interesting to you, and which activities and areas you will be spending the most time.
