  1. Our Oasis of the Seas roll call was good. One of our members had an Aqua Suite. An Aqua Suite balcony can hold about 50 people, many chairs, picnic tables, just incredible. It is aft, wraps from the sea side all around to the interior boardwalk, with views of the huge Aqua screen and the party down there.

They invited the entire roll call to their suite for the sail away. About 30 of us went.

Talk about a unique sail away. Absolutely nothing like it. Very memorable.

  2. I would think that bumping is a horrible policy and public relations mess. That being said, shouldn't it first happen to people with unassigned "guarantee" cabins for certain classes? I would think the unassigned folks would be bumped before people who signed up and paid for specific cabins. I would like to actually hear from Celebrity on this topic. How do they choose bumping priority? It can't be just random. Celebrity are you following this thread??

I agree completely. If I have booked a specific cabin and have MADE PAYMENT IN FULL, how can I get bumped?

    Absolutely ludicrous.

  3. Our favorite in Cozumel is the "Cozumel Bar Hop" A small bus takes you to the (uninhabited) far side of the island and stops at all four of the (few) permitted bars over there. Great sightseeing, great places, and a fun afternoon.

We did the "wild side" using the Private Driver and had a blast.

    Something worth doing.

  4. Get familiar with the ship prior to boarding. Check out the deck plans so you have an idea of what interests you.

Nothing like your first cruise. The sail away is something never forgotten. Be sure to watch them untie the lines, and cast off. The cruise has begun.

    The party has started.

  5. Geez.

I like to keep it simple.

I take a lot of USA cash.

Lots of small bills, lots of hundreds.

No ATMS, no credit cards, no debit cards.

And when I get home, I always have a couple of thousand in cash.

  6. my husband is a smoker. We are on deck 9. Where can he smoke??

When you get on the ship, just ask.

That goes for the casino, the MDR, pool bar, just ask any bartender or other crew staff.

  7. Boarded Oasis. Could not wait to get to top deck, grab a beer, and check out the ship.

Got off the elevator, preceded to go outside deck, turned right when I should have turned left, ran right into the glass windbreaker wall, split my nose.

Bartender, I'll have a beer and a towel with ice.

Great way to start the cruise.

  8. Here is the website for Dr. Fun. Just contact them with any questions.

We had a great experience with them.

I would not say it is not kid friendly. Kids would absolutely love it.

You could do it pretty leisurely and just hang out at one or two of the "pools" without climbing the falls and other "holes".

The video I posted gives you a good idea of what to expect.

  9.

Before cruising a new ship/cruise line, I do a TON of research.

This is good advice. The Oasis is one phenomenal ship.

I suggest also to spend a lot of time researching the ship, specifically the deck plans.

In 7 days, you probably will not be able to do everything, so, check out what interests you in a ship, and get to know where everything is.

BTW, you need to make reservations in advance to some of the shows, so do that when it opens up.

  10. If someone was tempted to do that, I bet the law enforcement agents wouldn’t be too happy to have their time wasted for payback purposes! I would think that the people making the false report would have more cause for worry than the illicit balcony smokers would.

Anyone that would conclude that Customs and Border Patrol, ICE, or any law enforcement agency would board a ship and search someone's room because of a report that they were smoking on the balcony is incredibly .......

Fill in the blank. But, this is Cruise Critic.

  11. To those who have snuck a 12 pk of beer on a cruise ship

Seriously a 12 pack? That would be gone before the ship untied the lines.

Here is what I do. Get a balcony. Bring a very long rope. Hire someone with a boat. They can bring about a dozen cases. When you get to your room, contact them, let them know where you are. When they get under your balcony, throw over the rope, they attach the cases, and haul them up.

As for disposing of the cans, just toss them to the cabins next to you, above you, and under you. BTW, if you are a smoker, just dispose of the butts by putting them in the empty cans.

Also, if you have any questions on saving deck chairs at the pool, let me know. I use that police yellow tape and just block off a whole row for the two of us. That also works great in all the entertainment venues.

  12. One of the best excursions ever. Fantastic!

    Here is a

of our time at the Blue Hole.

I highly recommend it, but not for the faint of heart. You should be in pretty good shape, and water shoes are highly recommended.
