409. Summit to Bermuda 7/14/2019.
Just booked it.
-
Waking at 5:00 AM. Grabbing a coffee, strolling, and no one to see.
My ship. All mine, just me and the hired help.
Waiting for the sunrise. Watching the sun come up. Another day at sea.
Time for a beer.

..... The trip he recommends includes an extra stop for a day on the beach which we are not interested in. How much extra cost is there for port charges .......
I would be more concerned with the size of the pepper shakers and napkins in the MDR.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

1. Hot / warm weather with beaches.
2. Ship. And this pretty much considers food, staff, activities, entertainment, and stateroom.
Little else matters.

.
. We will be cruising on Princess which only offers data by the minute.
Susan
I am sailing next week on Coral Princess and I have purchased unlimited internet.
-
Sure, you can use your cell phone to call from the ship. But you might have to mortgage your house to afford the bill. :o
From reading the Verizon cruise ship costs, it looks like they will charge $3 a minute.
Considering I am already into the cruise for $8,000 and have yet to board, $3 won't break the bank. It is already broke!;p:D:D:D

Just curious about anyone's experience calling home on a cell phone from the cruise ship.
BTW, I will be using a Samsung 7s with Verizon.
This is what Princess has on their web site, and seems like it will not be a problem.
Every Princess ship is equipped with an advanced cellular communications network. This network allows you to send as well as receive voice calls, text messages and data services on your personal mobile device. Mobile device service is available for use when the ship is at sea, in international waters and in other areas where such use is permitted. All charges will be conveniently billed to you by your mobile device provider.

For me, I find that "bribing" our steward at the beginning works great.
I also have a conversation and ask about where they are from, family, how long they have been on the ship, when they are going home or, wherever the conversation goes. Sometimes you get some very interesting info just from talking with your steward.

I went to Shutterfly.
-
Be advised, refrigerator / mini bar will have sodas, water, some other goodies.
You will be charged.
-
Thanx for the review/comparisons, appreciate it.
We are sailing on the Coral soon, first time on Princess.
Question on the casino, do they have craps and Texas hold em?

I am less than 10 miles south of Philly International airport. 2:06 PM EST and we now have sleet. Predicted to change to snow tonight, estimating 4 to 9 inches of snow by tomorrow.
-
Having owned two companies and worked in government services, I cannot help but to attest to the fact that bribes actually work.
I always bribe my steward at the beginning of the cruise, and usually do so often throughout.
Not sure if it works or not, but, I just can attest to the fact that I always get fantastic service.
Bribery is truly the American way.

Nicely done.
Appreciate it.

Taking a cruise in May with Carnival. Stopping at Ocho Rios and I have never been to Jamaica before so looking for the best/safest excursion to do. Cruising alone, love the beach but also thinking about doing something at the Dunn River Falls or Blue Hole. Will book through Carnival. Is there a good place to go to see actual photos from past guests vs. the photos they put on their website
Thanks,
Go to youtube.
Tons of great videos on Blue Hole.

What is the likelihood of booking an Aquaclass room and upgrading to a Sky suite? Is this even possible?
I did it on our last cruise.
We had Aqua, and I checked suite costs, and the difference was about an additional $700 total, so I jumped on it.

..... Is the lounge below a smoking area, and did you smell smoke ever?
No and no.
.....Did you feel like someone could stand by the railing on the deck above and see onto your balcony? No.
-
See if you can watch some old reruns of Love Boat.
Everything always works out on a cruise.
-
1. Just ask anyone. You will meet some nice people willing to help.
2. Before you go, study the deck plans and get familiar with the ship's layout.
-
I have been cruising for many decades, have done just about all classes of ships.
The Oasis and Allure were truly fantastic, loved everything about them. You have heard a lot of stupid comments from some cruisers that have never been on either. I have, and believe me, it will be a fantastic experience.
Have fun.
-
I can't imagine going on a cruise ever where I have to book for shows ahead of time. That is why I will never ever go on what the OP calls super ship.
DON
Very interesting and helpful.
Please tell us more about your specific cruise dislikes.

Check this site out.

You are funny! I am glad you have such a propensity for humor. Sometimes these threads need a comedian such as yourself to lighten things up when it gets too serious.
Hey, I try to have fun here, but, sometimes the facts wind up inserting a bug up my rectum.
Hate those damn facts.

My last reply to you. I don't want to be blamed for being complicit in you looking even more clueless that you already do. :')
One thing is for sure, I will not be blamed for making you look clueless. You are doing a great job all by yourself.
I just did the basic math, and it all adds up. OTOH, you insult me with nasty responses without any substance. Take a break.
Any tips for new comers?

1. Do your research. Check out the your ship's deck plans and get familiar with them beforehand. This will give you an idea of how to get around, and it will also let you know just what the ship offers.
2. Same thing for ports. Check out the Port of Call threads and Trip Adviser.
3. Join your roll call.
4. Food. If you see two entrees on the dinner menu that you really like, order both. Same for appetizers and desserts.
