  1. @Sthrngary Just curious how you felt. If I was going to Europe or the Far east and wanted a lot of ports and easy on and off then Yes to Oceania. If the Caribbean or New England ( we've gone on 50 cruises) and sometimes we don't get off the ship, then NCL Haven. I love the big entertainment and the Casino. I do hate the smoke in the casino so the new NCL ships with an enclosed smoking rooms are a great addition. As is the private Sun Deck. We did three Celebrity ships last year ( two in the Retreat and one a concierge cabin with family on either side). I called to book for next winter and the price was INSANE. So instead, are in a suite January 2025 thru the casino on the Enchanted Princess for $4,000 total. No special suite restaurant ( except for breakfast) no drinks ( we don't) and we don't care about the ports as long as it's warm. So every booking is different. And every cruise is great.
  2. I just doesn’t make sense to be in the Haven and have a stocked refrigerator that you must not touch. It’s the only thing about the Haven that I don’t like. I don’t even mind the unchanging menu, because I found out that they will make you lots of stuff as long as they have the ingredients.
  3. Sthrngary. How did you like your Oceania cruise? We are on the NCL Encore in February with family in the two bedroom Haven suite. Booked on Oceania Allura 2025 for Europe. There will be itinerary changes for sure ( Egypt, Israel, Tunis).. new ship
  4. We cruised a few years ago on the Gem. We had never been in the Haven and didn’t know any better. We ate breakfast in Moderna ( spectacular with great service and dinner in Cagney. Because it was small and uncrowded I think the service was a step above. Because the ship didn’t have all the toys there were very few kids and seemed more upscale. We loved it. If you asked for something special for lunch at the pool ( like a chicken BLT) someone ran to get it for you. The New England cruise is great. We’ve gone twice. I wouldn’t worry. You’ll have a wonderful time and next cruise you can do a larger ship.
  5. Inside the train facing the engine sit on the left for best views. The other side is against the mountain. We took the excursion thru the cruise line and I spent half the ride straddling between cars getting the best photos( no glass in the way). Great day.
  6. We did this with Princess and the train tracks were right on the pier next to the ship. You just walked over to the train. Sit on the left side going up. The train reverses on the way down but by then everyone was asleep
  7. Just call. I believe they will make the adjustment on board if you pre payed too much.
  8. I repeat. Book for six. A table for four doesn’t help you. I have done this.
  9. We were on the Connie with family in June in Greece. We had a great time. Terrific entertainment ( much better than the Edge). Shabby stateroom but very clean. MDR pleasant and always something good. Wonderful service. Petit Chief fun experience. Always easy to get on and off ( no crowds). I would definitely sail on her again.
  10. Just stay in the casino ( no windows)
  11. It was through Tours by Locals ( Anna Karadimou) she had a comfortable SUV (6 of us) perfect English and her husband drove.
  12. We left the ship at 7:30 am and returned to the cable car around 3:00 as our tour ran from 9-3.
  13. We were there in June on the Connie. My son arranged for a private guide with a car but even so, she met us at the top of the cable cat. We are Elite plus and were in concierge cabins. The combo somehow got us first off the ship as soon as it docked. We had no line for the cable car. Our ship was the only one in port that day. We had a marvelous day touring the island. No lines getting back down either. The only way around the cable car is to take a boat tour from the pier.
  14. My daughter expedited her two children’s passports and got them in six weeks but it cost a total of $300 for two. Kids cost more as they are not considered renewals.
  15. Check out the NCL transfers from the airport. January in NY could be sunny and brisk or a blizzard. That could be the longest 24 minutes of your life.
  16. Consent for travel with one legal guardian. Look on internet. You can print the form off. It gives you a place to list all the ports. Then take it to any notary. Last year we didn’t have it on a Caribbean cruise and we’re never questioned anywhere but this year my daughter is getting divorced and her future ex husband has agreed to it. Thank goodness as it would be terrible to be denied at the last minute.
  17. Mayor Bloomberg could buy a house anywhere and he has one in Bermuda .
  18. All’s well that ends well but Celebrity still comes off as clowns.🤡
  19. Seriously there is something seriously wrong with the IT department, the website and accounting at Celebrity. We are talking about a lot of money and time and high blood pressure.
