  1. I get the impression on here that many have the attitude"I am alright jack" with there so easy nip drop your luggage off nip back into town and kill 2-3 hrs or go IKEA. Sorry but not easy to kill 2-3 hrs if you are old, disabled or in a wheelchair. IKEA is a long walk for people who have difficulties and many have attitude nip here nip there park here when isn't feasible for some. I just hope one day they don't become disabled or in a wheelchair they might suddenly have a different opinion. Sorry but many on here have a very selfish attitude and I hope they never have to be in situation of needing a wheelchair or have to push loved one in it or become disable or infirm and struggle to walk distances.
  2. You might get assistance at the terminal but if you arrive by train and old, inform or in a wheelchair 2-3 hrs before your boarding time you have 3 choices 1) sit in cafe on railway station with your suitcases 2) get a taxi to terminal drop luggage then taxi back to town centre because not everyone can walk that far then kill 2-3 hrs then get another taxi back to terminal for boarding time or 3) arrive early and be made to wait outside terminal in cold and possible rain. None of the above are ideal and do apply and not everyone arrives by car but those that do don't seem to care or give a thought about those that arrive by public transport.
  3. Cabins are exactly the same size whether occupied by 2 or 4.
  4. Having used Medallion App on Princess a few times and all the issues and bugs I am quiet happy with what is offered by Cunard now and hope it stays that way.
  5. We had bid accepted from P2 to Q5/6 on QV in Nov/Dec and had 72 hrs to accept and if we did the cost would be automatically added to my credit card I had used to pay my balance.
  6. We have today received email from P&O for paid upgrades for our cruise on Arvia in April and all prices quoted are per person not per stateroom.
  7. Just think what you are asking can you imagine a full 100piece orchestra on stage in the theatre. It is obviously a scaled down orchestra but is excellent and possibly the best crossing we have ever done.
  8. All very well and good but like so have said previously if you are arriving by train and old, infirm or in a wheelchair delivering your luggage and going to do something else can be very hard.
  9. We first used Princess App before COVID in 2019 and there were many issues, faults and bugs. Still doesn't seem to be totally effective so personally think it is a step too far for Cunard. With regards sitting on a sun lounger requesting a drink has never really worked. We used to lie on deck and order a drink then watch the waiter wander around ages with our drinks because it was never very accurate. Used to end up shouting or waving arms to the waiter. In its early days you couldn't use app to order 2 drinks one for yourself and one for wife even with drinks package because it automatically charged your account for second drink. So we both had to order individually on each smartphone and then the drinks would never be delivered together sometimes a long time between delivery of each drink.
  10. So you are suggesting old, disabled or those with wheelchairs if they arrive by train to sit in station cafe with all their luggage for possibly 2-3 hrs. I am sure you wouldn't be happy doing that so why should they.
  11. Everyone knows the options when driving to Southampton regarding boarding times but nobody can give a sensible answer on those, which there are many, who travel by public transport i.e coach, trains. They have no control of time they arrive and therefore can have problems killing time which is exasperated if they are old or disabled with luggage. Unfortunately there are many on here who are OK with arriving at boarding times and knock those who have a totally different situation which they control. I am afraid it is a case of I am alright jack and have no thought of those that have issues with arriving close to boarding times.
  12. The only issue I can see is you will be unable to pre book before the cruise due to number of people so missing out on 20% discount. By the time you get onboard there might be no availability. Get your TA or phone P&O to ask the question.
  13. She was very fortunate obviously arriving by private car or taxi but what happened if P&O gave her a boarding time of 3-30pm and she was travelling to Southampton by train and her only train arrived at midday. What would she suggest do then, just because it is convenient for you don't assume every person is in same position.
  14. What a silly comment to make. I am assuming you are not old, disabled or in a wheelchair.
  15. Not always it could be paid for by TA out of there commission they receive from cruise line to attract your booking.
  16. Not easy if you are elderly and arrived by train. Your suggestion is get a taxi to terminal drop luggage off then get another taxi to town centre, not everyone can walk if disabled or in wheelchair, then get a return taxi after wandering aimlessly round a town centre for hours. Happy cruising.
  17. Don't think there is ever the chance of everyone turning up at once with coaches being told what time to arrive and not everyone wants to arrive early. But sorry making people queue outside in all weathers especially the elderly is not very good induction to what P&O likes to make out as a luxury holiday. With regards to your comment about airports have never arrived at an airport terminal and to be told you cannot come in you have to form a queue outside.
  18. Reminder to check what I was thinking. Thick fingers and small smartphone keyboard don't help.đź‘Ť
  19. So that basically tells you that Ocean Terminal is not big enough for the shops that she serves.
  20. Would never book direct with P&O will stick to my TA that have used many times.
  21. Not a lover of caviar but wife ordered it 2-3 times in QG in November on QV as a starter.
  22. Not if you have a share certificate which is only issued on purchase and never need to renew. Had my shares for over 12 yrs and applied for obc many times and never had to prove anything dated within last 3 months. Shares are through Equiniti and all I have ever done is e mailed details of cruise and personal details and never been refused.
  23. They also accepted an uploaded copy of my share certificate dated 2011 and before I could apply for my Shareholder OBC my TA had done it automatically direct with P&O.
  24. I downloaded Stocksperk app and applied by sending them copy of share certificate and was all accepted. Waiting a few days to apply for my cruise on Arvia in April when today received an e mail from my TA who had automatically applied to P&O for my Shareholder OBC. Enclosed was a new invoice with benefit OBC added so was a result without having to apply to Stocksperk.
