  1. @EDDY0827Is the above new rates? I just looked at my August 14, 2022 FC deposit information and it appears to be the same as what you are showing.
  2. We have taken the 14-day cruises to Alaska quite a few times. When we have our turn-around day in Whittier, we go on the Phillips 26 Glacier cruise --- https://phillipscruises.com/. Because Whittier is a very small port and doesn't really offer us anything to do, we go on the tour.
  3. @CoralYour "blue" definitely beats mine. Happy to hear that you are heading back to Alaska. Looking forward to hearing all about your cruise.
  4. @Coral-- Beautiful pictures. Did you have an overcast day when you went? I think if we had a little more overcast our blues would have been a little darker. The lower vantage point makes all the difference in the viewing experience --- at least that is the way we feel. So, revisiting your pictures, are you ready to book yet???
  5. VelvetSkeeter: Here is another picture from our Adventure Bound trip:
  6. VelvetSkeeter: Here are a couple of pictures from our 2012 trip on Adventure Bound --- you can see what is meant by being up close to the bergs.
  7. Thank you for your comment about the pictures, I appreciate it. Hope you have a memorable time at Hubbard. We will be doing the excursion again in July and hoping for another great experience. I see that Coral has mentioned to you that Adventure Bound is a good choice for a Juneau excursion. Agree with her --- there is nothing like being close to the beautiful/colorful bergs.
  8. Yes, we got much closer than the cruise ship. Booking this excursion is a tough decision especially since there is a high price attached to it. Our Princess price for this excursion was/is $299.95 per person. I don't know why Celebrity charges more but they do. We know there is a risk when booking this excursion: might be cancelled due to fog or not see any calving at all. However, it is a risk that we are willing to take --- again, not everyone feels the same way and that is OK --- you have to do what is most comfortable for you. The thrill for us is being up close and hearing the loud thunderous cracks as the ice breaks away and falls into the water. In our case, the calving hit the water so hard that it created a wave and we had to move the boat a bit -- it was very exciting. I am attaching a few pictures for you to see what happened during our visit to Hubbard. Probably not typical, but we were thrilled to be blessed with such a wonderful event that day.
  9. Our small ship excursion at Hubbard last summer was stunning. We had a lot of calving and it was so exciting to be up close and personal. I realize that this excursion is not everyone's cup of tea --- I am glad that we did it and will be repeating it again in July.
  10. If you every get the opportunity, Bear Watching at Anan Creek with Michele from Island Wings was fantastic!
  11. Coral, here is the bear picture I mentioned in my post above. Sorry, the actual date of this picture was May 31, 2011 and it was taken on another whale watching tour with Glacier Wind while we were combing the shore line.
  12. Glad to see you haven't given up hope for a May cruise. We used to cruise to Alaska during the early season but had to change that time frame due to home schooling our granddaughter. I did go over our past May Icy Strait pictures to see what our whale watching experiences were like. Here are a couple of pictures from our May 21, 2018 trip. We got very lucky this particular excursion as the whales were putting on quite a show every where we went. It was a truly remarkable day. As you know, whales have a mind of their own so we are always thankful for whatever encounters we have. Our vendor was Glacier Wind Charters --- fantastic vendor that is very well run and makes you feel like family. We have gone out with them for many years and looking forward to our trip with them in July. I think I also have a bear picture from the same excursion. We found the bear near the shoreline during our whale watching excursion. I will list it in a separate post.
  13. Hope May works out for you --- it really is a nice itinerary. Also, we love the fact that we have plenty of time in Victoria as often times, as you well know, Victoria is a short stop.
  14. We are doing the 11 night V-V round trip on the Crown Princess in July. The itinerary has a lot of our favorite ports -- looking forward to it.
  15. May should be beautiful with the snow still around. Hope you are able to fit some cruising in 2023.
  16. Coral, we are taking the 11-night Vancouver round trip on the Crown Princess in July 2023. The minute we saw the itinerary we liked the variety of ports and the long port times. Something different for us --- we are looking forward to it.
  17. Well, I went into Princess.com and did a mock booking to see the price. Then, I went into my Personalizer and entered the same mock booking information to see what that price would be. There really wasn't too much of a difference in pricing. Thanks all for your guidance in trying to help me navigate the Players Club offering, I appreciate it.
  18. Thank you. Where specifically would I put the offer code (I do have that on the brochure). I don't see a place to put the offer code, that's part of my problem. Would rather do my research before a call is made to Princess -- If I can't find what I am looking for then no sense in wasting my time and Princess's time.
  19. Thank you for responding, I appreciate it. I received a tri-fold brochure with the words "Princess Players Club" wording and then "Enjoy life's sweetest rewards." The brochure mentions "Up to 50% off and up to $250 spending money with the perks (drink pkg, wifi, etc). When I open the brochure it shows various places (Alaska, Mexico, Europe, etc.) and then a QR code in the upper right hand corner of the brochure. There are no specific cruises listed. Near the QR code there is a statement that says to scan the QR code to view over 900 cruises between 3 and 20 days." QR code doesn't work for my phone.
