  2. We have gone out with Jayleen multiple times and have never had a problem getting back to the ship on time. Jayleen lives in Juneau and know the importance of getting her clients back to the ship. But, if you are really concerned, take "Northern Aurora's" suggestion and call her for peace of mind.
  3. Don't believe it is just the Crown. We have cruised numerous times to Alaska and excursions are not always available even when they show up on the website. Sometimes, it is just the fact that the tour provider hasn't signed their contract on the dotted line. As the cruise season just finished, I am sure we will start seeing availability within the coming months. In the meantime, I will just keep checking back for open availability and as new tours are added.
  4. So....I was at the Princess website looking at my bookings and noticed that a couple more excursion options were next to my cruise ports --- great, I thought. Not so great. Although the excursions are listed, I can't book anything. I called and talked with an excursions representative and he even tried to book them for me. He said that there is no particular reason for this --- sometimes excursions can be booked early and some can't. He has seen all kinds of booking openings --- unfortunately, mine is one of those that I will just have to keep checking back. If anyone has had success booking excursions for the Crown Princess 7/14/23 sailing date please let me know. Thanks.

  6. So sorry to hear that you were not able to fix the problem. While some things seem to be working better with this update, Princess still has a ways to go before this app is fully functioning. My phone is a Samsung Android not sure if that makes a difference. A while back I had to call app support and I was told that for some reason, IPhones have more problems than Androids. I laughed when she told me this as in the beginning of the app process, the IPhones were doing better than the Androids. Good luck.
  7. I was not able to save my "preferred name" until I had ALL the emergency information filled out. Once I did that, I scrolled down and was able to save. Not sure if this is your case or not -- just know what worked for me.
  8. FYI -- If you are having a problem getting the Medallion app to personalize, you might want to take a look at the "Ocean Medallion App-Part 3 thread, post #4097. I followed the simple suggestion and I was able to fix the problem. Good luck to all.
  9. UPDATE: I contacted Fortress of the Bear facility and here is the information the person provided to me: "Thank you for your interest in visiting Fortress Of the Bear. There are several ways to visit us without pre booked tours. Taxis-Their numbers can be found on our website Shuttles are not free, but run about $10 round trip. There is a city bus that is $2 each way, but makes stops along the way." Thought I would post the information in case someone else is curious.
  10. Thanks a million! Went into my personal information and indeed my "preferred name" field was blank. I entered my name but it still wouldn't let me save it until I provided the email address for my emergency contact (all the other information was there, just not email address). So now, my app is personalized.
  11. Here is what I got last night when I first posted: "Good evening. First Name Only." This morning, I got "Good morning" still without any name. Had high hopes with this update as the speed and items were all accounted for --- I am so done with this thing. My Royal Caribbean app has given me no problems -- just my Princess app.
  12. Everything is fine just can't get it to recognize my first name.
  13. I guess the greeting is tied into a clock because it now says "Good morning" instead of "Good evening." Now, if it could just get the name right I would be happy.
  14. Does anyone know how much the taxi fare to Fortress of the Bear (FOB) facility would cost? Not interested in taking a tour -- done that already. We just want to go to the FOB facility. Thanks.
  15. I was so excited when things were moving quickly through the app without any problems. Something as simple as the client's name should be an easy task. I just don't understand.
  16. Ugh! I even logged out of the app and then came back in and it still does not recognize my name. One step forward, two backwards.

  18. Mine just updated. However, when I open it up, it says "Good evening. First Name Only." It does not mention my name. Does your update mention your first name?
  19. Thank you. Hope you enjoy your cruise as well -- this will be our first time on the Crown. The itinerary is a good one so we didn't want to pass it up.
  20. Update to my post: Sitka and Juneau excursion availability just appeared. Looks like things are finally happening.
  21. Where did you do your booking -- on the app or the computer? If on the app, where do you find excursions listed -- I can't seem to find any portion of the app that shows excursions -- perhaps I am looking in the wrong place.
  22. We are booked on the Crown for July 2023 and can not book anything for Alaska. Based on my past experience with Alaska bookings, I usually see them start popping up around Dec/Jan time frame. Still, I check daily as I want to ensure I get certain excursions as soon as they are available.
