hey what can I say my worse subject in school was spelling

Don't feel badly! On our 2015 cruise a wonderful "artist" had carved this beautiful melon sculpture for Halloween. He stood proudly by his work accepting compliments----I just didn't have the heart to tell him he had misspelled Halloween!

  2. This picture was posted on another MSC chat area, showing a ship under construction. Any idea of which ship this is? Also----I hope there will be water involved, one suggestion was that it's a "shortcut" to the pizza restaurant for those people too imparient to take the stairs or elevator/lift!

Any review's on San Francisco, the ship, ports of call good and bad.

No review, but here is an album of pictures of our May 2 Miracle Alaskan cruise. If you skip/ignore the personnel pix it will give you an idea of what the cruise and ship were like for us. I'd be happy to answer any specific questions. Just click on the link--if you want to see any picture larger click on it.

Thanks. The latter part scares me. I do not want to be left behind in Ocho Rios.

Some people claim this never happens---it has happened to us (unlucky?) 3 times. Barbados, flat tire on the bus--no spare! Panama, huge traffic jam, bus arrived 1 hour after ship due to depart. Freeport, boat from Dolphin Encounter pulled in 45 minutes after departure time!

In all three cases we were on Carnival tours, the tour directors were in touch with the ship and we boarded with no problems. It was worth every cent of the extra charge!!

  5. We were lucky enough to be aboard the Spirit on her first Transpacific voyage to Australia in 2012. The excitement was high in Sydney as the largest cruise ship to dock there approached. News helicopters buzzed overhead as we all waved the Australian flags that had been handed out. Ships blew their horns and a fireboat sent streams into the air. We were greeted by a huge banner "WELCOME CARNIVAL SPIRIT RESERVED PARKING". If interested you could check our cruise "album"-feel free to skip up to #366, or check out the whole "what I did on my vacation" album! Just click on 2012 AUSTRALIAN CRUISE below-----to see a picture larger click on it.

  6. We'll be debarking the Radiance in Feb., staying overnight and embarking the Panorama the following day. We therefore need an overnight hotel. We booked a nice one in LA before the Radiance for about $150. All we've seen in Long Beach are around $300. Does anyone know of any hotel not too far (1-2 miles) from the port at a $150 price-or close to it? I won't even hope for a shuttle to/from the port area! Thanks,

  7. Unless things have changed (we've taken two grandchildren who required K meals) they will only get K meals at dinner. Meet with the Maitre D when you/they board to inform him/her that the menu should be shown at that point. The meals will be ready by dinner. Breakfast and lunch at the buffets will be a matter of choosing from the normal choices (expect them to have a lot of salad). If they won't use the dishes or silverware at the buffet they'd better bring some to use. Any specific question? You could IM me if you'd like. If you'll be out Fri./Sat. NO REAL CANDLES we brought electric--and bring either wine or grape juice.

  8. Feb. 2023 we'll need an overnight in Long Beach going from one cruise ship to another the next day. I see the Queen Mary is closed---and the Maya Hotel states fully booked. Is there another hotel in the area which would provide transportation to/from the cruise dock? Thanks

  9. We came back from an Alaskan cruise on the Miracle several days ago, great cruise All I can tell you is that (as of May 2, when we cruised)

    1. You are correct about the 3 day PCR, 2 day antigen requirement but

    2. One member of each family was also required to download the app "ArriveCan" and fill it out for all members-getting a QR code for each one. This was required whether or not you got off the ship in Canada. Carnival checked the code to board upon embarkation, then the CD made announcements, the room steward asked, and the waitstaff asked about it! We were told that if we lost the QR code, or could not show it in Canada we would each be fined $3000----the Carnival staff was quite nervous about it. The day we arrived in Victoria we got off for 20 minutes and went to the little souvenir shop. WE WERE NEVER ASKED FOR THE APP BY CARNIVAL, AMERICAN OR CANADIAN OFFICIALS!

  10. I'm sure this has been asked before----but I keep getting conflicting answers! Does anyone, preferably someone who has recently sailed on the Legend and might even have a current picture, know what the current hull design of the Legend is? I was told that it had not received the new blue design, and then that it had. Thanks for a definitive answer.

  11. Just back from the May 2 Miracle cruise. Almost the same story as reported by many others. A large number of people were taken out of line if they couldn't show the QR. For 2 days before reaching Canada announcements were made, room stewards came to the room, and waiters at dinner all reminded us to have the QR ready to show in Canada or each person (including frightened staff members) was subject to a $3,000.00 fine! We left, walked around and NOT ONCE were we asked to show this code that had cost me $300, since we had to cancel our CT covid tests (3 days before boarding---acceptable except in Canada) and have them done 2 days before in San Francisco!!!

’m getting both parents to sign notarized letters stating I can take my granddaughter, do I need anything else? I thought I read I need a copy of their driver license also? Did I dream that? I’m hoping my ex-SIL doesn’t cause any sticking points for me….. TIA!

We've taken our each of our 3 granddaughters on a cruise at age 12 and found a form that the parents have signed and had notarized for each. In all the cruises we have never been asked for any type of proof------but of course if we hadn't had it we probably would have! I will include it here and you might wish to modify it to fit your needs. Enjoy your time with her-----we discuss the cruises with them each time we see them (only twice a year unfortunately).

There is a way to do it prior to checking in, but I do not remember the URL to get into it.

The way to get your paperwork before checking in is-------------------go to your cruise on MANAGE MY CRUISE----------------------either type in or highlight and copy the site below, then paste it in the address box----------carefully delete the ABC123 in the box and insert your cruise code--------hit return and your cruise info appears like it will after you've signed in!                                                              https://www.carnival.com/booked/document?BookingNumber=ABC123&IsPrintLuggageTagsSelected=true&IsPrintPassFlightSelected=false&IsPrintCruiseInfoSelected=true

I just tried it out to make sure this was correct, worked fine----good luck.

All that I can tell you is that we sailed on October 31st, stayed on deck until we passed just under the bridge that limits the size that cruise ships can be (tight fit, even with Pride) and then went inside as the cold and gathering darkness prevailed.  And I'm a huge 'top deck/watch the scenery go by' kind of guy.

AGREED!! I can't fit both photos here---so here is the bridge approaching the upper gear of the Pride---in the next post I'll have the Whale Tail as it just made it under!

  15. Eli_6, we were lucky enough to travel on the Spirit's 2012 transpacific cruise, with an additional 10 days spent in Hawaii and Australia! If you or anyone would like to see our "album" of the trip I'll have a link below. Please feel free to disregard the corny personal pix and see what experiences come with this sailing (like the court judging all of us pollywogs as we crossed the equator, or the all night party as we crossed the international dateline--went to sleep on Tuesday and woke up Thursday, etc.) .

  16. It is the new normal----at least it has been for us. We've been on three cruises since the restart and have had to wait till 16 days (for diamond and platinum) before being able to fill out the info and print anything. If the arrival time is important to you, you might want to check in at 12:01a.m. of the day you can!

  17. We were lucky enough to have done 4 of those cruises. The last 50's cruise we did was in 2008, however it was amazing in that the 300 of us who had paid extra had private concerts each night in addition to the regular entertainment. We also sat with the groups each night for dinner! I looked back at out "album" and can tell you the groups were-----FREDDY (BOOM BOOM) CANNON, THE DEL VIKINGS, THE DUBS, THE ELEGANTS, THE PASSIONS, & BARBARA HARRIS WITH THE TOYS! On an earlier cruise we walked down a corridor and met up with Bowzer who was carrying a sack of laundry to the laundry area---we had a nice talk with him!

Hi.  Can someone please post where to send your copy of your stocks?  I have shares but not sure how to send.  Thanks

    From Carnival FAQ

We can now accept shareholder proof via email at shareholders@carnival.com for those with over 100 shares looking for their extra onboard credits.

After the reservation has been made, the shareholder must provide their legal name, reservation number, ship and sailing date, along with proof of ownership of Carnival Corporation or Carnival plc shares (for example: photocopy of shareholder proxy card, a dividend tax voucher or a current brokerage or nominee statement with the brokerage account number blacked out) at the time of deposit.

Again, please remember to omit/cross out your account # prior to emailing their proof.

•$50 on board credit per stateroom on any cruise of 6 days or less

•$100 on board credit per stateroom on any cruise of 7 to 13 days
