We sail 11/21/21 on the Pride out of Tampa.  I really hope we sail.  We have airline tickets,  hotel reservations,  time off work,  etc 😀

I am ready. Who has been on the Pride? What is your favorite part?

    Bobbi

We've been on the Pride 5 times. Our favorite part is the singing Maitre D, Ken Byrnes but I'm not sure how long he'll stay once the Pride reaches Tampa. Here is a link to an "album" of our 2019 cruise, just click on any picture to make it larger and you'll see parts of the ship. Enjoy your cruise!

  2. I REALLY hope you are able to get on the Pride November 28. We are supposed to board the Pride Oct. 31 in Baltimore for a 14 day cruise ending in Tampa Nov. 14. Because of the 14 day aspect, we will travel with 100% vaccinated, rather than 95% and we have to show a negative covid test taken within 72 hours in order to board!

  3. Here's the Carnival instructions. Be sure to blacken out the account #.

We can now accept shareholder proof via email at shareholders@carnival.com for those with over 100 shares looking for their extra onboard credits.

After the reservation has been made, the shareholder must provide their legal name, reservation number, ship and sailing date, along with proof of ownership of Carnival Corporation or Carnival plc shares (for example: photocopy of shareholder proxy card, a dividend tax voucher or a current brokerage or nominee statement with the brokerage account number blacked out) at the time of deposit.

Again, please remember to omit/cross out your account # prior to emailing their proof.

•$50 on board credit per stateroom on any cruise of 6 days or less

•$100 on board credit per stateroom on any cruise of 7 to 13 days

•$250 on board credit per stateroom on any cruise of 14 days or longer

  4. I posted the following "plea" on John Heald's and our PVP Aida Hermann's FB pages. I was wondering if anyone in this forum could come up with a solution.

    Any advice???

We were thrilled to find that our 14 day Carnival Pride cruise – Oct. 31-Nov.13 would be sailing. Since we have had our Covid Pfizer vaccines for months, the fact that 100% of passengers were required to be vaccinated was WELCOMED! However, the final requirement presents a quandary. We are being told that at embarkation we have to present proof of a negative PCR test that has been administered 24 to 72 hours before boarding.

We have gone to (or called) our doctor, Walgreens, CVS, a test facility, a hospital and a fortune teller------all have told us the same thing, there is no guarantee that any Covid 19-PCR test results can be delivered within 72 hours. If the test labs are busy, results may take up to 6 days (144 hours).  Finally, many of the passengers will be traveling to the port of Baltimore during at least the day before sailing.

Therefore, we have these three questions:

    1.  1.   Can the powers that be change the 72 hours to 144 hours?

    2.   2    If #1 is unacceptable could the “rapid” Covid test be used?

    3.  3     If, heaven forbid, the result was to come back (possibly a false) positive-----would we be able to get FCC because of a cruise that was, through no fault of our own, denied to us?

Thank you for any assistance you can provide,

    Linda & Allen Caplan

  5. We've brought this rather heavy 3/8 in. thick plastic door decoration on many cruises. We use COMMAND STRIPS AND HOOKS to hold it. The room stewards like it because they leave no residue on the doors.

  6. The shareholder's OBC is voted on each year -- it's been approved to continue giving it out for many years and I can't see it being voted down now when Carnival NEEDS customers. However, they don't approve giving it for any time UNTIL it's been voted on. So they won't approve late 2022 and beyond---I can't remember when the meeting is each year but think it's not till May??

Agreed never had anything EVER unplugged.  We also pack a couple multi USB port chargers as well since with 3 people and multiple devices needing to be charged it is a must pack item.  Also pack a power bar or two (must have circuit breaker protection)

We've never had ours unplugged either. However, the power strip we bring with us goes along with the Carnival rule (below) and does not have a surge suppressor. I'm not sure if this is the same as circuit breaker protection, but if it is they are not allowed. Supposedly they are fire hazards with ship's wiring.

    Carnival site states------------

Power strips, multi plug box outlets/adaptors and extension cords (without surge protectors) are allowed on board when used with proper caution. However, if such devices are determined to pose a hazard, they will be removed and returned the last day of the cruise prior to debark.

  8. We're looking at the wrap around for next summer, mainly because we'll take our teen age granddaughter and want to give her a separate room area----$4,500 for the 3 of us. Meanwhile, we're hoping for the 14 day repositioning cruise on Oct. 31 to take place.

For the  'Status Match' Diamond on Carnival is Gold on MSC.

Have they changed? We sailed with them 2 years ago and they matched our Diamond with their highest, Black. We did not care for the food and would not cruise with them again---but the perks WERE much better than Carnival's!

  10. We also will be going in May and have checked out shuttles, Uber, taxis, etc. They give time estimates from 25 to 40 minutes. A noon flight SHOULD be doable if the ship is not delayed. Just be sure to let the ship's desk know you are booked on an "early" flight to get an early check out time---unless you can take off your own luggage and be in the first group out.

My wife an I are on the repositioning cruise also as our first Journey's cruise.  We are really starting to get excited that it looks like it may actually happen.

We've been lucky enough to sail on several Journey cruises---we look forward to the Throwback Day, with frog races and other games played back in the 90's. If you (or anyone) is interested in seeing an album of a journey cruise which started in Tampa, went to the Panama Canal and ended in Baltimore onboard the Pride -- kind of the opposite of our October cruise -- I'll leave a link below, just click on it. Feel free to skip over the pix of us and click on the pix of the ship, Canal, etc. to enlarge them. Hope to see you onboard!

Trying to piece the Pride/Legend transition together from looking at Carnival cruises and this forum news.  Looks like last Pride cruise from Baltimore might be October 24, and first Legend cruise from Baltimore is November 14.  Not sure about October 31 - November 7 and November 7 to November 14.

Actually we're booked on the last cruise from Baltimore-----October 31. The cruise is a 14 day "repositioning" cruise going to Grand Turk, Amber Cove, Santa Marta (Columbia), Cartagena (Columbia), Panama Canal (partial transit), Costa Rica, Roatan, Cozumel---and ending in Tampa! They no longer have it showing on line---hopefully the CDC's edict of no longer than a 7 day cruise won't be in effect by then! We're also booked on a 7 day out of Baltimore on August 29, 2021 and so far that is still scheduled to go. It would be nice if our luck (6 cruises canceled up to now) is changing.

  14. I checked the actual wording of the offer "You may maintain your existing reservation and a US$100, per stateroom, onboard credit (OBC) will be automatically applied to your booking should the cruise operate."

The important words for those concerned are the last four          SHOULD THE CRUISE OPERATE     !

They had this situation in mind when drafting the offer------no cruise no additional $100.

We have 4 pets also. The dog goes to a puppy motel quite expensive for two weeks (only do 14 day cruises ), and we are lucky to have sons who stop by and check on the 3 cats while we are gone. The boys use our house as a sort of man cave while we are gone.

Agree with all---older crowd (us) a lot of plat/diam (us).

A few years ago we were lucky enough to sail on the Spirit to Australia-that 18 days plus another 12 between flights and a stay in Hawaii to rest from the Australian flight meant a month in the Vet's kennel for our 16 year old dog--amounting to close to $2,000.

As far as port or starboard--today it's just luck. However, the "story" is that in the early days of European cruising the ships stayed close to the coast of Europe and Africa on a sail to the east. Therefore it was more expensive to book a Port room on the cruise to the east and watch the shore roll by. Then on the return to the west the Starboard rooms were higher priced. Those who could afford the luxury of both were considered P.O.S.H. -- port out starboard home!
