Will be doing the POA cruise through the Hawaiian Island January, 2025. I only see 10 excursions listed. Do they add more closer to sail time or is this all there is??

Check out tours at Roberts Hawai’i. May surprise you. Cheers…

Remember, clocks go forward one hour at 2am on sunday.

So we get an hour's less rain

Rain, JB? You mean good ol’ fashioned British ‘liquid sunshine’…

Alternately, there's a South Brooklyn ferry from Wall Street Pier 11 to the Red Hook ferry station, just 50 feet from the circus at the Terminal. Only runs hourly on Sunday.

Definitely use the ferry if at all possible. Cheers…

last year we sailed out of Southampton and could not get a drink till around ten at night.   We are getting ready to sail out of Southampton in May and wondering if it is still a no alcohol port

If you are staying in Southampton pre cruise, try the Duke of Wellington on Bugle Street. Should carry you over until the bars are open on board. Cheers…

    Hi all,

I've never sailed Carnival before nor in or out of the Tampa port.  So I have two questions:

If I leave a meeting from downtown Tampa at noon, will I be okay to board a 4:00 sailing the same day?  It looks like they are close.  Not counting the bad luck like traffic accidents, can I make this?  Is there construction on the route?  (Cruise is next month.)

If the ship docks at 8:00 am on a Monday, can I make an 11:00 flight?  Again, normal traffic and existing constructions - I'm okay not having a rare-event cushion on the return.  Carry-on luggage only - no counter check-in.

Thanks very much in advance for any info

Recently off the Norwegian Jade. Suggest you calculate when you think you will actually be off the ship and through Immigration. May take longer than you think. There was a long line for taxis but very few available. Saw a sign for a ‘shared’ airport ride. Cost $10. You may wish to consider a later flight. Cheers…

    Kaj works for Viking now.

Thanks for the info. Viking’s gain is definitely NCL’s loss. Kaj was top notch, perhaps the best. Kaj could be outspoken and honest. Heard that there had been a “falling” out at NCL. He will do well at Viking. Kaikkea hyvaa ja onnea, Kaj…

Hello.  I am new to NCL.  How is the Teppanyaki restaurant? I think I have 2 speciality restaurants included in my booking.  Do you recommend it? Thanks so much.

Just off the Jade. Teppanyaki has three dining times per evening…5.30, 7.30 and 9.30 p.m. Very enjoyable if not a little noisy. Cost, if paying, is U$59. If you go, and are trying to reduce your salt intake, think about requesting a lower amount of soy sauce used in your rice and meat/chicken etc. Enjoy!

On sky presently and the cookies found me!  (In a suite). Did go looking for them at tea time today and only found scones and various cakes.  Welcome chocolate dipped fruit were strawberries and pineapple.  Love the pineapple for a change.

Looks familiar. Just off the Jade. Chocolate pineapple made a yummy and welcome change. Cookies not generally available except, we were told, via a Room Service order. RIP Cookies; however, did get cookies, from time to time, by requesting them from our wait staff in the complimentary dining room. Where there’s a will…

What time did you line up and what time did you get off the ship?

What time did you arrive at FLL?

By 6.45 a.m., the ship was along side and cleared shortly there after. We decided, because of the long self assist line on the previous B2B cruise, to have our luggage taken off. Called to leave the ship about 8 a.m. Immigration was a breeze. Into a taxi and arrived at FLL, even with the airport traffic, at 8.40-ish.

The one advantage to taking an earlier flight (going anywhere) is that typically those flights would be on time (excluding weather-related delays).  Flights later in the day could be adversely affected by other delays (eg. mechanical) that get compounded throughout the day.

👍 Early is the better choice if in poor weather season.

(BTW, leave the Ashes when you go.).

catch a taxi instead of uber? Never thought of that. is it a flat fare to FLL?

I don't have tsa precheck but i dont imagine much of a line at security at 8am.

    Yes, plan B

Just off the Silhouette prior to Christmas. Self Assist line veeeery long. Folks queuing up just after 6 a.m. Facial Recognition system at Immigration very fast. Lots of taxis. Fare to FLL, with tip, $20. Road traffic at FLL was heavy and slow. Precheck TSA line non existent but regular lines, at 10.30 a.m., quite long but not unmanageable. 10 a.m. flight’s gonna be a real nail biter. FLL’s not the most convenient airport for a long wait. Good luck…

  12. You may wish to read Cruise Critic’s Ports of Call/British Isles and Western Europe for oodles of information on travelling from LHR to Southampton.

In September last, used aquacars.co.uk for the trip. Cost was £140. Driver met us at LHR, took the luggage to the car etc. etc. May be worth considering. Cheers…
