  1. This is a review of the Alaska Cruise Tour, I believe 7A or 7B. It is a little longer than yours but I would imagine it's managed the same regarding the cruise and land tour. The land tour on this review comes first and the cruise second. It is by far the best Alaska Land Tour review I have read. Explains everything in quite some detail. Enjoy.

  2. Hey There! Good to hear from you. Tell Lisa that we easily found the restaurant that they took us to......but it was a Monday and they were closed. So disappointed.....but we found another place nearby. I was surprised how easily we found it' date=' though![/size']

i will let her know, they are not back from Venice yet. I believe they come home this Tuesday. Lovely review hope to go there someday.

  3. Do the ships still happily provide those any longer? I had heard they stopped.

We have indeed had hit and miss on mattresses. The new ones on Freedom were

    awful!

I believe the egg crate mattress toppers are no longer available but I had heard that the mattresses on adventure were hard so I requested a couple of weeks before boarding that a mattress topper to soften up the bed be available via c&A. It was not so I asked our room attendant if the bed had one on it and he said he would take of it, and he did. It was a little better. Thanks for the heads up on the beds on radiance, I will try to get a mattress topper before we go.

  4. Wishing All a nice Holiday this Monday. But remember this day is not all about burgers, dogs and beaches.

Our back door is the Mall in to DC. We can sea and hear the fireworks from our condo balcony just across the line in Maryland. Tomorrow's weather looks bad. Not shore what will happen there.

Hoping everyone has a nice 4th, and remembers the significance of it. It's more than dogs and burgers.

I hope you have a great 4th of July. Everyone stay safe as you celebrate our independence. Happy birthday America.

  5. We were there last year and shopped in the port area, then had lunch in the cheese shop. Quite a unique place carved out of the salt rock and the best fondue I have ever had. Four of us shared two fondue's and a bottle of wine, they gave us four individual plates with bread/veggies. We were very satisfied would go there again.

  6. Anyone sailing along the US east coast this weekend, you may in for some bad weather. Danielle is brewing off the south east coast and will be headed up north towards New England. Accu Weather has details here:

We will be on Grandeur this Saturday from Baltimore to King's Wharf for a 5 day shorty.

Enjoy your cruise, hopefully Danielle will leave you alone and you will have warm weather and calm seas.

  7. Thanks to all especially Coloradogurl. I now have a new perspective on this upcoming cruise.

However, I now need to know where to stay for our first time in San Juan. Thinking of Dorado but want a nice hotel where we can definitely walk to restaurants and nightlife. We are only going 1 day prior to cruise. Not something super expensive but NICE and clean, maybe with breakfast.

Also, am I right in thinking that it will cost about $70. US to get from the airport to the Dorado area?

And does the Adventure leave from the pier in Old San Juan? If not where from and about how much will a cab cost from Dorado or Old San Juan.

Any other additional info would be appreciated

We usually stay in condado, we have stayed at best western and doubletree. Lots of cruisers if they are staying one night will choose what is called a boutique hotel in the old town. This makes your evening hours well spent seeing something of the old town. The ship docks at the pan American pier, not much to see there but she does not sail til 8:30 pm must be aboard by 7:00 pm although we usually board early around 11:00 am. Lovely ship. Taxi's have regulated prices by zone, don't have a copy but it probably is on the Internet or maybe on the San Juan page. Have a wonderful cruise this ship is just the right size.

  8. Pretty much decided that we will be getting a taxi (s) from hotel to cruiseport.

from what I remember you have to call the hotel and tell them you are at the airport. They will tell which stand number to go to. Once you get outside of baggage claim on the sidewalk you will see what might look like bus stops with numbers on them. Just go to the numbered stop they gave you and the shuttle should be there quite quickly.

  9. I guess I need some help to view your periscope reviews. I used the link and was advised in order to use I needed the periscope app, so I loaded the app but could not find you. Tried several times, then I used the www link provided. I found you and some of your reports but only the beginning page loads, then immediately goes away. Yes, I had the app open to use. If you can help I would appreciate it. Never used this application before.

  10. Hi Radio...looking forward to following your review. I follow all of them, but, didn't know about this one until I read it on the RC CC boards.

Just curious if you did the status match from Royal to MSC. I know you are D+ and we did the match, but are interested in finding out how they compare. We are D+ too. I don't know if we will ever sail from Florida, but, I hear MSC may have a ship in New York in the not too distant future. Might try that since we won't have to fly or drive any long distance.

Enjoy your cruise and Bon Voyage.......:D

    Gwen :)

I did not know that MSC did a rci status match. I also would be interested to know how it compares.
